Chapter 76

'I must get stronger,' Rebecca thought in her head. Stretching her abilities as far as possible. Suddenly she felt an image formed in her head as her focus increases.

Shooting her weapon towards Sasuke's chest. He didn't expect this move, unable to dodge away Sasuke used protective Haki to cover his chest.

The force from the weapon caused Sasuke to take one step back. He looks with amazement at Rebecca. Couldn't believe that she has finally able to see seconds into the future.

"Are you okay Dragon Slayer?" Rebecca rushed over to observe the area which her attack landed. Her eyes are full of worries for him.

"I'm fine." Sasuke said to her.

Breathing a sigh of relief Rebecca said, "I was afraid that I hurted you." Her eyes grows soft, she couldn't move her eyes away from watching him.

'I really really like you. Did you know that?' There are words she never uttered to his ears. For fear that this fragile relationship will break apart.

Sasuke pretends to not understand her unexpressed feelings. This was not the first time. Since in the past there were moments which Rebecca tried to engage skin to skin contact with him closely.

"Alright that's it for today. You must be hungry," Sasuke said to her. Moving his eyes away from the strong magnetizing electricity between them.

Rebecca sits on a round piece of log as she eats an appetizing piece of meat. It was night time with many fireflies scattered around.

"You can slow down. There's still more if you're hungry," Sasuke said to her. Stretching his hand out to wipe the oil around the corner of her cheek.

She stopped her eating feeling the strong emotions that wells up inside her. She felt comforted and at peace as she sees Sasuke tending her.

"Dragon Slayer-san where did you come from," Rebecca asked. During this year Sasuke has been mostly quiet. There seems to be a veil of mystery about his existence.

"Where did I come from?" Sasuke thought for a moment. Then with his finger he pointed to the numerous stars of the galaxy from above, "I come from there. The stars."

"Huh? There?" Rebecca looked up to see the wide arrangement of shining pieces of glittering light.

For some reason she could tell Sasuke seemed to be telling her the truth. Yet a truth that's so difficult to wrap her head around.

But she remembers how she met Sasuke before. How he landed on the stadium peak like he flew down from the sky. Like an angel destined to enter her life.

Seeing that she seemed interested Sasuke begin to recollect many stories of the Naruto world for her. Stopping when he realized that she seemed to have fallen asleep.

Her harmless face rests on his lap. Her breathing is light as a feather. Seemingly oblivious to anything that will harm her.

The next morning Rebecca woke up from her sleep. Find herself sleeping on a cut field of green grass. With a layered blanket covering over her delicate body.

Getting up from her sleeping position she went to find Sasuke. Under the tree she finds Sasuke sitting there as usual every morning.

"Dragon Slayer-san!!" Rebecca called out to him, waving her hand in the air. She almost seems like an adorable teddy bear as she hugs Sasuke as usual. "I'm so hungry. What did you cook for breakfast today?"

"I already have everything prepared for you," Sasuke said. Handing her a large plate of food.

Finishing her breakfast Rebecca thought they would be doing their training like everyday. But she could see a seriousness that's written on Sasuke's veiled face.

"What's wrong Dragon Slayer-san?" The seriousness about him made her become alert. As her eyes search his face for answers.

"I'm going to be leaving," Sasuke said to her. Without looking into her eyes.

Rebecca stood up on the ground from hearing this unexpected news. "You're leaving!!?"

"I have to go somewhere. I'm sorry I couldn't be staying longer," Sasuke said to her. He sees that Rebecca seemed to turn stony silent.

"This is goodbye huh?" She said with an expressionless face.

"Yes."

"It's okay I won't be sad," Rebecca told him with a smile for him as tears drops from eyes. Tears that comes gushing out like a stream.

When a woman becomes tearful and reveals their heart like this to you it is not always a beautiful scene. But it is a scene which beauty in their hearts is revealed vulnerably and truthfully.

"I'll be waiting for your return." Standing on her tippy toes she kissed Sasuke's lips through the veil. Which catches Sasuke by surprise. "I love you."

"Rebecca-" Sasuke was about to say something.

"You don't have to say anything," she said to him. With her delicate fingers she took hold of both of his hands. "I'll be waiting for you even if it's all eternity."

Sasuke really doesn't know what to say. Unable to decide whether to accept her love and stay. Or leave for the wider things which he knows off.

He doesn't want to make a promise to her which he can't keep. A promise of waiting and fading of her very precious appearance itself.

Before Rebecca's eyes she sees Sasuke's body transformed into a swirling gathering of leaves. This is only one of Sasuke's true clones, not his true self.

The leaves form a gorgeous and stunning mirage as it floats down from above her head. Then a flame catches hold of the leaves burning each and every one of them.

Stretching her hand out Rebecca catches a small green leaf landing on her palm. Her tear drops watering the small leaf as her mind is overcome by strong emotions.

Finishing recounting the stories for everyone Rebecca looks happily at Sasuke. "Now I'm glad I can be by your side again."

"That's such a sad story," Shirahoshi said using a blue handkerchief to wipe away her tears. "I didn't know you're such a jerk Sasuke-sama! I'll never talk to you again!"

Sasuke didn't know what to say. As Shirahoshi brings Violet with her inside the house. Pouting her small cheeks and not giving a single glance at Sasuke.
