Robert boomed with laughter and thanked the torhen for his great gift. later on, torhen brought out a valyrian steel sword and presented it to Joffrey as a gift the people around were astounded at the many magnificent gifts which were presented to the people around, Joffrey was elated to see a sword, not a stupid wooden practice sword but a real sharp blade and valyrian at that, next torhen presented a platinum necklace for princess Marcella and dresses made of silk and many toys, for prince tommen he brought a monkey and lions with worked with keys people marveled at engineering of the sophisticated toys. torhen also brought a compass for Stannis Baratheon as he is the master of the ships he brought many books and a sword for the john arryn and jewels of many kinds for lysa aryyn.

once the gifting ceremony was over torhen graciously knelt and thanked everyone for accepting the gifts his family prepared, many people present saw him as a charming young man who was befitting as position as the heir of a great house but the real problem was just starting. as soon as the court started with the real business many nobles from crownlands came forward and blatantly stated that stark business has destroyed their economy and if the gracious merchants from around didn't come to their support they would have been able to support and stabilize the tax hike many merchants came forward at this point many reach lords wh supported the Tyrells also stepped forward and asked that the starks who share their findings with the realm so that everyone can benefit and if they have so many developmental plans then they should not focus on agriculture and leave it to the reach men who have been doing it for centuries, of course, they said these things with flowery words trying to make a small boy that his great ideas have upset the balance of the realm and he should restore it. seeing the growing commotions Robert commanded everyone for silence and asked torhen if he has something to say in this regard, torhen graciously accepted the opportunity granted to him to speak and stepped forward from his position and started explaining. he told everyone how the reachmen heavily priced the starks before they started to make their own food he brought out papers and documents from all around the world possibly everyplace they sold their grain to, and it was apparent that the amount sold to the starks was less than any other place and yet more expensive he brought out the fact that the only reason they did this to the north was because it was the north that supported the tax hike the crown imposed on them for supporting the mad king during the war and because the northerners had to buy the food they took advantage of them. and when great amounts of people started to migrate to the north they stockpiled a large amount of grain as well but it went to waste because the north was growing its own food and the rest was brought for the Riverlands, this shamed the many reachmen standing around they have been shamed and outwitted by a boy of eleven when they tried to object torhen stark also brought letters sent via ravens giving solid proof of their shameful acts, the more shameful part was even after all this happened the reach men were not apologizing for their actions. tohen seeing this as an opportunity proclaimed that what reachmen did was wrong and have insulted the oldest house in the realm as such that when winter comes and the north will not be able to use their lands for growing crops they will still not buy from the reach, instead they will deal with the Tully's and their rice which will stay preserved for long. hearing this proclamation hoster Tully stood up from his seat and announced that they will end their partnership with the reach. the reachmen were showing expressions which clearly said that the lands beneath their feet were sept away, they were dumbfounded they had not even considered the profits they would have made by selling grains to the north during the harsh and long winters with their large and booming population and if the Tully"s break the alliance they will be practically dependent on essos for filling their pockets. mace Tyrell could not accept the humiliation and retort angrilly saying that without the Reach support to grow the Tully's will not be able to deal with bandits nor maintain the infrastructure to keep the waterways required to grow rice torhen simply argued that he will 20 thousand soldiers to the Riverlands to deal with the bandits and any other force planning to sabotage the production and that the north with its large coffers will maintain the rice infrastructure, mace Tyrell laughed at that saying that in such a situation he will not make a profit but torhen simply explained that he has 7million people to feed to depend on house stark for survival profits are the least of his concerns and that he has many never-ending mines and resources to not care for such things. while all of this was unfolding olenna Tyrell was sitting silent listening to the foolish rambling of his son seeing how the situation had turned out like she stood up went forward and hit mace Tyrell on his leg with a cane this made a fat man fall down while much of the court was silent everyone was laughing on the inside olenna went forward up to torhen graciously apologized for her house and vassals did and kneeled down in front of him in a formal courtesy something she has not done in a long time it pained her to do so to a little boy but it was required for her house. the entire court was silent and surprised to see the queen of thrones kneeling to a boy of 11, torhen soon apologized and asked her to stand up saying that it is unbecoming of a lady of her station to courtesy to a boy his age and took back his words and saying that the declaration he made will be cancelled and old ways will be resumed if mace Tyrell gives a formal apology and gives fair prices olenna happily accepted the terms, once the commotion with reach ended torhen directed his graze to the nobles and merchants of the crownlands, and smiled that sent a shiver down those who opposed him
