Hunter's fist pounding gets louder as he draws closer to the boy. His burly figure put a lot of pressure on him and an attempt to run proves futile as the young man slips off a banana peel few feet's to the left and comes crashing down sending his tray of food flying into Hunter's face dyeing his clothes chocolate and crimson, quickly drawing everyone's attention. His face immediately turns black and he rushes towards him but is stopped by a loud piercing voice which sends a bit of chill down his spine.
"Leave him alone!" the voice booms. The entire atmosphere becomes still as the owner of the voice walks gallantly over and helps the boy to his feet completely ignoring Hunter.
"You dare... intervene?" Hunter's roar fills the entire cafeteria, completely pissed for being ignored.
"Just leave the kid alone. What do you expect to get from troubling this kid early this morning?" the person snaps.
Agitated, Hunter moves a few paces forward as though for a fight, clenching his fist and says "You… you better get the hell out of my way, if you don't want any trouble…. I won't hesitate to take you on if that's what it takes to get to him"
"Well, if you are this eager to beat him, then you would have to go through me first" the person says with a mocking smile.
Hunters friends soon start to cheer him on. "Crush him! crush him!" they roar and others soon join in sending the cafeteria back to its chaotic state once again. Hunter's lips arch up into an enigmatic smile and he clamps his fist and walks towards him, smile still on his face.
"What's this guy up to? Does he really want to…"
Hunter breaks the person's thoughts as he moves towards him swiftly and hurls a heavy hook in his direction. Noticing, he swiftly moves inward, redirects Hunters fist outwards to the left and hits him in the shoulder then grabbing his arm, he flicks him over his shoulder onto the floor as though he were a piece of paper, his golden hair floating along with his actions. Shiro stands there watching his opponent grounded, his green eyes giving a faint glow as the entire cafeteria becomes suddenly quiet with most people resuming their seat, some still standing with their mouth agape. Hunter's friends quickly disperse as Shiro walks towards the counter and getting his own tray of food, he gives it to the boy and leaves the cafeteria. Melanie and Ace are sitting at a table in the corner looking on.
"That guy is crazy. You don't want to get on his bad side" Ace confesses
"For real" she agrees.
HISTORY CLASS
10:00 AM
Shiro notices Gavin in a desk behind his seemly scribbling on a tablet as he enters the class. Gavin notices him as well and waves him over. Walking through the rows of tables, everyone seems to be scribbling on their tablets with some checking their marked assignments. A black haired girl looks up at Shiro with a smile on her face as her cheeks turn rosy. He winks at her and slowly turns to a corner of the class with a mocking grin as a pair of furious eyes glared back at him. He continues on towards Gavin as the girl resumes what she was doing.
"Hey Gav, welcome back" he says fist bumping him.
"Thanks man" he turns and peeks at the black haired beauty and then at Shiro and whispers "You know, you should ask her out sometime. She's pretty"
Shiro looks her direction as they make eye contact and quickly retracting his gaze he mentions "Yeah, maybe"
"Maybe???"
"Forget it, back to topic" he brushes of Gavin's statement and continues "Thought you were not coming back"
"Apparently I didn't want to come back but he insisted" Gavin indifferently says.
"Your grandfather?"
"Yeah, who else?"
"I guess you learnt a lot now didn't ya"
"Yeah completed the entire 7th course. Wasn't as easy as I thought"
"Well let's find out how good you've gotten then. Tonight the usual place and time?"
"That can't happen" he says disappointedly
"Why's that?"
"I have been grounded...."
His eyes widen as he exclaims "You what?" and pausing for a moment continues "You are up to your games again ha?"
"Yeah pretty much... can't do without them"
"Guess your home will be the playground then"
"Yeah right... didn't catch you when I came in"
"I was in the cafeteria. Had to take care of something"
"And that something has nothing to do with fighting right?"
"No... where did you get that idea?". Gavin points towards the doorway.
"Wh..."
"Shiro, Chris (Hunter) my office now!" the principal says and leaves.
"Aww crap" Shiro says turning to look at Gavin's concerned face. "Maybe…" he says forcing a smile, thus answering Gav's previous question.
"He came out himself Shiro"
"I know…"
"Which doesn't usually happen so I assume you know what that means right?" Gavin reminds him.
"Yeah… I guess". He sighs and walks away. The history teacher enters as the two boys walk out.
PRINCIPALS OFFICE
10:05 AM
"What was all that fuss in the cafeteria about?" the bald headed moustache principal sternly questions the two, his head threatening to puff smoke out of anger. For a moment none spoke. "I am pretty sure I was talking to human beings and not freaking logs!!" he yells as a vein bulges on his forehead.
"Principal Neal I was just helping someone who was being bullied, that's all." Shiro confesses
"That... is the lamest excuse I've ever heard my entire life".
Unlike Shiro who is babbling back and forth with the principal to convince him and escape punishment, Chris sat quietly thinking to himself.
The principal drops a large blue hard covered opened book on the table, in front of Shiro and commands "Read the first section of rule 30".
Shiro reluctantly picks up the book, scans for the mentioned section and reads "Do not put up a fight under any circumstance, in the name of helping someone being bullied. When you see bulling, report it immediately…" reading u to this point he pauses and lifts his head to look at the principal.
"Go on"
"Anyone caught putting up a fight will be punished accordingly." he concludes.
"Shiro, detention for the rest of the day and next time, your parent would be the ones I would be talking to. You may leave".
Shiro's eyes widened as he thought 'Man I got lucky. I thought it would more'
"Are you leaving or do you want me to drag you out myself"
Realizing the sternness of the principal, he leaves the office without protest lest his punishment be increased.
Turning towards Chris, he says "And as for you, I just don't know what to do with you anymore. You already are on detention yet you don't seem to regret any of your previous actions. From now till Thursday, you're going to clear the basement and rearrange everything there in order..."
"Come on, really?" Chris says in protest.
"That's what you get for breaking the rules"
Without waiting for the principal to give him the go ahead to leave, he leaves the office slamming the door behind him.
"Jeez this kid is going to drive me insane".
S.S.H.Q
10:15 AM
Mr. Kemper walks through the dark tinted glass door into the large office of the general. Sofas are placed to the left and right with a table at the center, and a desk at the far end making it look like a combined office and a hall. Behind a the desk sat a familiar man, his side parted hair hiding his small face. At a glance, he looks like a twenty five year old but in fact is over forty and well built.
"Mr. Kemper, welcome"
"Thank you general"
"I'm glad you could join us" he says as Kemper stands by another burly man.
"What do you have for me general?"
"There's been confirmation that two state warehouses in Pennyville are involved in illegal drugs and weapons distribution. However further investigations have revealed the warehouses were purchased by an anonymous buyer whom we believe is connected to Scott." He says handing him one of the many files on the table.
Kemper takes it and looks through it as the general continues. "The method used in purchasing the warehouses perfectly matches that of Scott's"
"General, don't you think this could be a copycat who understands Scotts motives and is just using Scott to mask himself?"
"I doubt it could be. There's too much detail in here"
"But sir that's how good copycats are these days"
"Even if that were possible, he probably would have already been found, killed and his body hanged on the streets just like the other copycats".
"But general, I think we should give this a lot more attention and time. Things like this have happened before and if we rush in, we would just end up running into a wall like always"
"I do agree with you but I am certain it's them this time around"
"But general…"
"You think I don't know how to do my job?" the general snaps standing before continuing "We have lost countless men because of this group and now that we have a chance to fight back you want to delay it further? This is not the time to go soft on me soldier. Just do as you are told"
"Yes sir" Kemper says with a salute.
The general retires to his seat as he says "The warehouses are 10 blocks from each other. You would be going with Nick and I am assigning 10 men to each of you. Mr. Kemper you take the warehouse closest to the bridge. Nick you take the other. Am I clear?"
"Yes general" they both respond.
"Okay, see you two after your mission. Dismissed"
PENNYVILLE
10:55 AM
A chopper circles a building as a soldier scans the surrounding through the open door with a pair of binoculars. The surrounding is serene and a warehouse could be seen a distance away. The area around the warehouse appears to be devoid of people. After scanning for sometime, he calls out "All clear sir" and as soon as these words landed, about some distance away, two soldiers grapple down and inspect the ground beneath the hovering chopper.
After sending a signal, Mr. Kemper and the other men grapple down afterwards. All eleven moved through an alley with Kemper in front. Kemper holds up his hand to halt them. He carefully inspects the area ahead and realized it was empty with the warehouse not far off. 'No guards? something is off' he thought as he gestures them with a hand signal once again and they move to quickly surround the warehouse ahead as the chopper comes in and hovers above the warehouse.
Five quickly spread out and searched the surrounding as ordered and Mr. Kemper and the other five move towards the front door of the warehouse. He stomps the door sending it swinging open with a loud BANG!! and his men rushed into the large room, guns pointing in all directions. He stands in awe for a while and moves on to inspect the warehouse and soon found the entire warehouse empty except for a covered crate it the middle. Kemper hears a beeping sound from the crate as he draws nearer. He removes a combat knife strapped to his waist and forces opens the crate only to realize it contains a bomb, with a countdown time of 7 seconds remaining.
"Fall back! Fall back!" he shouts and they run towards the exit. Tick, tock, tick, tock and after the last second passed, the bomb goes off killing three soldiers and injuring four, leaving Kemper with a few burns. As they are recovering from the effects of the blast, their chopper is hit in the tail by an RPG and the pilot who has already lost his copilot tries to save himself by jumping out of the chopper but unfortunately gets his leg caught in a strap as the chopper comes crashing into the warehouse causing an even larger explosion.
Mr. Kemper turns and sees someone cladded in black standing on the building opposite to the warehouse with the launcher in hand and his face completely covered. Using the fire escape on the building, he pursues his target. They run over a few buildings with Kemper shooting after him but loses him after he jumps through an open window on another building.
'What the hell kind of training did this guy go through?' he thinks out loud. He turns around trying to make much of what happened only to see thick smoke rising from the distance, where the other warehouse is located. "Nick this is Kemper do you read?" he speaks into the radio. There is no response. "Nick I repeat do you read me?". There is still no response. "Hello anyone still out there..."
***
A soldier with D-15 embroidered on his shoulder manages to drag himself to the dead commander's body and takes out his radio from his stiffened hand.
"This… this is Ransford, do you… read me?" he manages to let the words out.
"Ransford, I read you. what is the situation there? Where is your commander?"
"We lost… the commander sir"
"Sh*t. How many more survivors are out there?"
"Everyone is dead sir,I am the only…" before he could finish, a bullet whizes through his head like a projectile through thick fluid, splattering his fresh blood onto the body of the dead commander. He drops like a lump onto the ground. The shooter who like the previous is also cladded in black removes the receiver from his hand and says in a low hoarse voice "This is your final warning. Keep hunting us and you are next".
