Autophobia.

"Wake up dimwit!"

Marlos was woken up by an annoying, childish voice. He was finally out of that white world and was back inside that dark room, the difference being that the door was open, and someone was standing in front of him.

"Get up. Father wants to see you."

Marlos had regained the memories of the previous owner of this body by the system as an add on, along with the legendary grade class. What the class actually did was still a mystery, but he guessed that he would be able to progress fast as an assassin with its help.

Alex Curran was a 7-year-old boy from the prestigious Curran Family, A family with a history of producing some of the most well-known assassins in the world. They were credited for grooming the greatest assassin in the world, The Legendary Chris Curran.

But the family had been in a decline over the past few decades. Nevertheless, assassins that came out of this family were still top tier.

Alex was an outcast in his family. He had potential but was stuck in between his siblings as a middle child. His older two siblings, Liam and Lucas were already behemoths in the field of contract killing, and his younger sibling Kane was a verified prodigy, forcing the hand of the family to pour all their resources into developing him.

Alex was not paid much attention to. He was a good seedling, but the prospect of creating another leader of the family was way more important. Naturally, he noticed this. He confronted his parents about it and was pretty upfront about the family's ignorance towards him. His mother understood where he came from. However, his father was deeply offended. He had previously thought of sending Alex out of the family to work with his elder brothers to improve himself. But due to the lack of respect, he thought it was time to teach his child some manners.

Alex had autophobia. That was his one flaw, which was a glaring one in the eyes of his family. He was trying really hard to overcome this fear but he hadn't completely gotten rid of it. So his father took this chance to push him to forcefully take it out. If he succeeded he would send his son to train with his elder brothers. Brute force and flashy moves were the way his father did things, which was bizarre since Good assassins are known to be elegant and swift.

And so, it began, Alex had to survive inside that dark room for 10 weeks. He would be given all the necessities, but his vision would be restricted, and there would be zero conversation between him and the other members of his family.

What his father didn't understand, was that this was the reason he got autophobia in the first place. He was being ignored by the family ever since his younger brother started showing potential, which was why he was afraid that his family will leave him if he wasn't good enough.

And so, after surviving for around 9 weeks, his mental condition had finally reached the end of its endurance. These 9 weeks made him feel that his worth was nothing in the eyes of his family. Even his mother, who doted on him the most, was ignoring him. He hadn't seen anyone, because whenever he had to do something that required leaving the room, he was blindfolded. Then, was taken to the required destination without a single sound made by anyone in between.

He was blind, mute, and alone. And therefore on the last day, he cracked. He went into a comatose state due to ASD kicking in. It was at this time that the system took his body and substituted Marlos as its new host.

Currently, he was following his younger brother, Kane. Alex(Now Marlos) was pretty indifferent about the kid walking in front of him. He had all the right to be as cocky as he was.

At the same time, he couldn't wait to show this kid his place in the future. If this kid was right to be cocky when he had strength, then it would only be right to give him the same treatment in the future.

Kane was a bit confused. This wasn't his brother. His brother would have whined and cried after going through such a harsh punishment. He was immature, therefore his nickname was "dimwit".

But as of now, his brother had none of his previous qualities. Everything about him had changed, and it was unsettling.

"Dimwit, is something the matter?" He asked. He did not hate his brother. He felt a bit guilty about the whole matter, so he asked him in a solemn voice.

Alex did not answer. He wanted to creaye as much tension as possible.

Kane didn't ask again. They continued towards their father's office in silence.

"You are here, Alex."

The first one to greet him when he reached the office, was his mother. She had been distant to him throughout the entire duration of the punishment hence she wanted to meet him as soon as possible. Alex was the normal one out of all the brothers. Her husband had requested her to leave Alex alone for some time. As an assassin herself, she saw merit in her husband's methods.

She was a crafty woman, but both of the agreed that Alex needed to face the reality of the situation.

His expression remained deadpan. His mother's words had no effect on him.

His father looked at him with a serious expression and asked,

"Have you gotten over your problem?"

"Yes, father," he answered.

And now, the first blow.

"I was in the wrong for expecting any sort of attention from this family."
