Families Distribute him Equally.

Elsewhere, The current Spearhead of the Letifer Collective, the Smirnov family had called up a meeting between all the families. They had to talk about something that had happened in the last month, which had shocked the current Head, Maxim Smirnov.

Sylvia had been quite busy that month. She was personally handling the information regarding the mission that Alex had taken up, and she didn't hesitate to share it with everyone. Unknown to Alex, all of his mission was being tracked by the major families because after the incident regarding his birthday party, everyone was interested in the kid.

At first, they were surprised that he was given such a hard mission because all of them were sure that he was doomed to fail. This wasn't some simple assassination mission. He basically had to suppress a rebellion. Without direct help from his family.

But as the mission progressed, they couldn't help but admire the young child. He was taking this as a true assassin, never once making a mistake that was significant enough to compromise the mission. During the main climax of the mission, they were both impressed and threatened. The report that was submitted by the Kramer Family had made everyone change their minds. They were going to pay even more attention, this time even without the involvement of Sylvia. They also needed to meet to discuss what should be done about the child's future, because he was too good to just be an assassin from the branch family.

------------------------------------------------------------

At the Smirnov family residence, in Smolensk.

The major heads from all the families were currently seated in the meeting room, reading the file regarding Alex Curran, the star of this meeting. Everyone had an incredulous look on their face, except for Ronald. He was cursing Sylvia non-stop in his mind. She had provided all the information regarding him from start to finish, including the event that had made him want to leave the family. But she removed the fact about his regeneration factor. No one needed to know about that, mainly because they would all agree to turn him into a lab rat in a heartbeat. And even if Sylvia was strong, she wasn't strong enough to repel all the major families by herself.

Maxim sighed. He knew that Sylvia was one twisted woman, but he still felt sympathy towards Ronald. They had been on many missions together, so they were good friends, but he had always been wary of the woman that his friend had chosen to marry. She was more ambitious and bold than everyone seated in this room, which said enough about her.

"Well, If you don't mind, I would like to propose a suggestion."

Lucius spoke up. He was fascinated by the way this child used his brain because he was way more mature than he should be at his age. He was the only person here who had never taken up anyone as his disciple because his daughters and his son had decided to train outside the family. They thought that he was not a good teacher, but they failed to realize that he never wanted to teach them in the first place. He felt that all of the kids of this generation wanted to be elegant while taking the honor in killing and protecting people as if they were some sort of superheroes. They felt that their names would be tarnished in their own minds if they used the wrong methods and deception to complete their task, which was laughable because everyone sitting in this room had killed people wrongfully.

The kids of this generation had to be pushed off from their pedestal of self-pride because they were not saints. They were assassins. Even when they did something wrong, they tried to glorify it to maintain this image of being young masters and mistresses. They thought that because the people who led their families were such elegant personalities, they should try to be the same, ignoring the fact that that elegance had been earned through the blood of innocents and wrongdoers alike. They were elegant, not because they wanted to be, but because their cold-bloodedness made them look the part. Which had been tempered over and over, throughout the years.

This kid was a raw gem. His situations made him completely overlook what the world thought of him, and he would do whatever he can to accomplish his mission. As a person who had to kill a lot of people to get to where he was right now, without caring about onlookers judging him, he could more or less relate to the kid. He was really sad at the fact that this kid wasn't his son.

"Why don't I take him in as my disciple? You all have disciples but I still lack in that area. Furthermore, you can see that this kid is the most suited to train under me. His style completely matches mine, and I will see to it that his potential isn't wasted."

Everyone else nodded, except Ronald. 'Give my son up to this greenhorn? I'd rather let him waste his potential into nothing.'

He had always been against the induction of Lucius into the collective. Even when they had decided to vote to bring his family in, Ronald had voted against it. He was a bit biased, mainly because Lucius had once killed one of his brothers.

As soon as he was about to voice his opinion, Maxim interjected. He said,

"I can't accept that proposal. His guardian, the mistress of the Curran family, had sent me a different proposal, the one which I am going to bring up now."

He got up from his seat with a bunch of papers in his hand. He passed all the papers to the respective family heads and asked them to go over them once.

"The proposal that she suggested, was to equally distribute him to all the families, meaning that she was giving up her guardianship to all the families, except the Curran family since they were the ones that disowned him."

This was another tight slap on Ronald's face. He now genuinely thought about getting rid of Sylvia, but he knew that the upper echelons of his family would never accept that. She had contributed more to the family than him over the years, while he was more of an administrator in the family. Furthermore, many of them would never accept Alex back. He was grumpy, but he wasn't a fool. He wanted Alex back, but unlike Maxim, whose family had given him complete authority over his decisions, he was restricted too much by everyone on his side. They were a bunch of oldheads who would not accept a disowned son back in their family, so he could only lament and sigh. His wife had won, once again. Another thing that went on in his mind was that maybe his future would be better off with them.

"However, we have to distribute him equally between the two families for missions. Only the three of us can train him, but he will also work for the Curran family occasionally."

Oh, how the mighty had fallen. He would need permission to see his own son, who was a rare talent. Everyone has pitied their eyes for Ronald, Except Zhao Lei. He had always been an admirer of Sylvia and felt blessed by what she had done this time. One foe had been weakening to not even resemble the shadow of its former self, the other one was going to be surpassed due to his speed sooner or later. Plus, now he could work with a prodigy to bring him to his side with a show of strength, which further allowed him to establish his superiority in the future.

"Does anyone have any problems with the proposal?"

Maxim asked. He could read their minds by looking at their expressions. Everyone more or less accepted it in their eyes, which showed on their faces.

Everyone approved of it. Sylvia, who was almost a psychic at this point, had already made a plan regarding the distribution of his time with each family. They all agreed with the plan without any hesitation, and so the deal was done.

Alex was now a property of the Letifer Collective.
