Using An Opponent.

Megan was ready. She had to prove that she was way more important than Alex could ever be, and Alex didn't deserve to get any attention.

"If I win, you die. Remember that."

While adjusting her body to the ideal stance, there was nothing that mattered more than this victory for her mind.

Alex, who had loosened up his tie and unbuttoned his collar, was looking at his adopted sister, upgraded by her remarks.

"I can defeat you with my eyes closed."

Alex declared. He was pretty confident.

"Hey! That's My line!"

Wei was furious at the mother and son duo. He was being ignored, and he didn't like being ignored.

But Alex continued his attitude towards her. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It would appear from the outside that he was being cocky, but in reality, he wanted to expose the technique that Megan used when she attacked him previously. She wouldn't usually tell him his secret, so it was time for some classic provocation.

And it worked like a charm. Megan was so angry at him, she gave up thinking rationally about this situation and decided to go all out.

'State of nothingness.'

Her presence vanished. Alex was not shocked for a moment, because all of her concentrated Bloodlust disappeared in an instant.

Still keeping himself calm, he decided to predict what part of the body was she going to attack. This was nothing like his previous fights, as even her steps were not audible.

'If she is closing down the distance, I might be able to sense her presence like before. But knowing that she would be prepared for it this time, there is a huge chance that she will throw her knife towards me.'

Alex smiled. He was exactly on point. There is nothing easier than predicting an agitated opponent.

Now that he knew she was going to hit his body, he just had to make sure to change his position according to it.

He dodged the first knife, but as he guessed that she would have even more of those knives, he decided to continue moving. He was on the mark once again.

Everyone was shocked, including the new audience members, Clara and Steven. Lucius wasn't here today, for some reason.

One more thing of note happened during this exchange. Alex could faintly feel the air pressure created by the knives, which helped him identify her position according to their direction. He himself was surprised at his senses because this discovery was not possible under regular circumstances. He calculated the pressure and distance of the knives with the amount of time needed for them to reach him and was now confident that he had located her position. This was good training for him.

Visibly frustrated, Megan threw her knives and attacked Alex by closing in on him simultaneously. He might be able to dodge the knives, but he surely won't be able to dodge her at this range.

Alex, who dodged the two knives thrown at him effortlessly, felt her presence for the first time. Decided to feign ignorance about her position, and suppressed his reflexes against her attack. He let his guards down, and she follows suit.

Megan was over the moon. Her strategy had worked, and even though Alex had posed some threat to her before, he was completely at her mercy now.

Just as she hit him towards his head, Alex bent down. It was so sudden, she didn't even get a chance to react.

He grabbed her feet and lifted her from the ground. Since she was willing to kill, he wouldn't be polite.

He hit her on her hands and disarmed her. Then he smacked her on the ground with all his power.

"Do you surrender?"

Still holding her leg while her face was kissing the ground, Alex asked her.

"Never!"

She was stubborn. Alex didn't mind though and repeated the previous misdeed once again.

"What about now?"

Due to the excessive trauma to her head, She had fainted. Alex felt her body go numb and opened his eyes to check before releasing her leg.

"We can consider this as my victory, right?"

Alex looked at Sylvia, who was still mesmerized by the way Alex had used his opponent to his advantage. This was what an assassin should do, given the opportunity.

Claudia on the other hand was smiling. This was nothing like the humiliation she had suffered and in a good way. Seeing that he was this rough with everyone, she gained confidence in herself.

"Well done. You completed the task."

Sylvia slow clapped for him. She was really proud due to the way he had matured, and she felt that she owed most of it to Lucius. So she decided that she would thank him when she could.

Clara was looking at her with incredible contempt.

"What gives you the right to act all high and mighty?"

She openly voiced her anger. If this woman felt like she could do as she pleases with Alex in her territory, then she is wrong.

"Nothing. I was just praising my son. Is there a law in this country against that?"

Sylvia replied. She considered Clara to be extremely childish, and in her mind, she didn't deserve to be in their world with so much power.

"If you are done playing games with Alex, I suggest you leave. You aren't welcome here."

Knowing that Alex was partly on her side now, Clara decided to be a bit more frank.

"And who can make me leave? You?"

Sylvia was running out of patience. She could tolerate the provocation of a hundred men, but a single woman was enough to rattle her chains.

"Silence!"

Hank intervened. He had been there for a while now, and seeing the two ladies fight like this, he felt that it was unbecoming of both of them.

They complied. Alex was in awe of how much power he had over them.

"You did well, Alex. Just keep in mind not to lift a lady in such a shameless way, I expect more decency from you in the future. Always remember to respect your opponent, even if they are the worst person on the planet.

'Oh. So this was the place the kids gained their righteousness from. Turns out, he was the person hindering their progress all along.'

Alex nodded. He didn't want to point it out right in front of so many people, that would be disrespectful for him. Plus, he didn't care very much about the grey family siblings, so he ignored his own findings.

Breaking the awkward silence, Clara's phone started ringing.
