A Responsible Assassin.

The task of keeping an eye on the target was assigned to the international surveillance group known as the 'All-Seeing Eye.' The leader of this group, Roy Atkinson, had taken the command of this mission by himself. As a veteran mercenary, he was confident that he and his men would be able to keep the target contained.

A few days ago, they had intercepted the bodyguard closest to the target. The group had suffered the loss of three men, but the opponent had been successfully taken out. With him out of the way, they were convinced that the target could surrender any time now. Directly initiating a kidnapping was not an option, as the money she had stolen was of utmost importance to the mission.

Roy was puzzled at his current predicament. He couldn't contact his on-field operatives anymore. Their trackers had been deactivated and he wasn't picking up any distress related messages.

To add to this, the target itself was no longer visible. Long range temperature sensors were picking up nothing. The last view they have is of her with a kid.

All of this was completely outside of the plan. With the following information, he had decided to leave the base and visit the hotel. The target must still be hiding there, as his men had covered all of the escape routes.

After confirming their positions, he went through with his original plan.

Dressed in formal clothes, with a suitcase in his hand. The look of a gentlemen.

The receptionist was on the phone with someone. As soon as she saw him, she hung up and prepared herself.

"Hello, and welcome to the the Luxe Hotel. How may I help you?"

He slightly leaned on the desk, flashed a smile and asked,

"I am here to meet someone."

Her face turned red.

"M-may I ask what their name is?"

He tapped on the desk once and said,

"Can you check for a woman named Rita Olsen?"

She typed the name on the directory. A name came up, but there was a grey mark on it.

"She checked out around twelve hours ago."

He feigned and expression of surprise.

"Are you sure?"

That shouldn't be possible.

"Yes."

He took his hand off the desk and said,

"Thank you for your help."

There was no time to waste. The hotel had CCTV cameras, but they had been down for exactly 12 hours. His team had checked.

He walked out of the entrance, and pressed the receiver in his ear.

"Do you have anything?"

No response.

"Are you listening?"

Silence.

And then a sentence.

"Do you value the life of your men, Mr. Roy?"

Roy stopped in his tracks.

"Who are you?"

"You will never get an answer to that question. If you want to leave this city alive, give me an answer."

'Gulp.'

His enemy was at their base. Right now, he had no other option.

"Yes."

"Let's play a game. Right now, there are around 30 of your men lying dead at your base, located at a distance 3 miles from the hotel. However, I have left all the data on their computers untouched. There was some really juicy stuff on this, and most of the groups that you are competing with will pay me a hefty sum for leaking this shit."

It could expose all of their identities. Emergency contacts, clients, suppliers, everything. The operative that Alex had killed was the data handler of their group.

"You have two choices."

He placed his finger on the enter button.

"Save your 40 men, or come back for these drives and let them die by my hands."

An ultimatum.

"You have five seconds to decide."

Practically no time.

"5...4...3...2..."

Roy hurriedly answered,

"The drives. I will take the drives."

Alex smiled, and pressed the button.

Sent.

"All right. Your drives are left untouched. Don't try to contact your operatives at the hotel. Wait for 4 minutes, and then begin your journey."

4 minutes later, Roy stepped into his car and made his way towards the base.

6 minutes later, a white van arrived.

"Your cruelness knows no bounds."

Alex inserted the magazines into the pistols.

"They were doing their job, I was doing mine. Besides, I did take revenge for your fallen bodyguard. A thank you would be nice."

Laura sighed. He said he didn't enjoy killing people, and it was just business. But as of now, this boy had killed around 64 people.

Yes. 64 people. The number that he had given Roy was a lie. All of his operatives, barring the ones at the hotel and Roy himself, were dead.

"I'll be right back. Lock the door, and don't open it until I give the signal."

She nodded. His need to repeat this every single time was annoying.

The door was closed, and the hunt was on.

Alex made his way towards the operatives.

High caliber Glock 19's equipped with silencers.

He reached his first target. To alert him, he let out a dog whistle.

The alerted operative turned around,

'Pop'

Headshot.

The next exit was not too far away, and the operative was already alerted.

Alex anticipated his height, and stealth walked his way towards the target. As soon as he came into sight, Alex aimed at his head and,

'Pop.'

Another man down

One by one, Alex took out the operatives without wasting a single bullet.

Within 3 minutes, all of them were dead.

He hurried towards the van, and tapped on the door in Morse code.

'Let me in.'

The door unlocked.

"Done."

She was already used to this.

"Good work."

He got into the front seat, and drove away from the location.

The dead operatives were the responsibility of the UK government. This was a matter regarding an international group of mercenaries. Just to be a responsible assassin, he had tipped the MI6 with the required information on the group, and uploaded all of the information on the drives onto a popular imageboard website anonymously.

As soon as Roy would walk into the base, there was a controlled explosion waiting for him. This was an open threat to the Serbian Mafia, and the ball was in their court.

A job well done. Now, to the next part of the mission.
