The land of Garthia!

{Welcome to the land of Garthia! You must have many questions so here is an answer to all in one. If you are reading this then surprise! You have died or been reborn! Don;t be sad though chum, everyone dies except for those pesky immortals and even then sometimes accidents happen! Anyways for controls and options hit controls, for a tutorial hit tutorial!}

A rather happy sounding squeaky voice says inside my head as i start looking around. I sigh as I wonder what it meant by reborn then as i think about it i think tutorial.

{Wonderful! Thank you for choosing Garthia's tutorial! You have just been born! Ain't you an adorable childling! The world of Garthia is a vast and wild world filled with danger, magic, and adventure. Good and Evil both have a place here and no matter your goals, with enough willpower and determination, anything can happen! To see how you started in this world think "Status" to view your stats, skills, and other attributes! It seems you are an unnamed orphan! Please either choose your name or have somebody choose one for you!!}

My eye twitches as I wonder why this tutorial sounds so happy and excited. Once it says to choose my name I start to think before putting my gamer tag as my name, figuring if I really am dead then i don't want to go back to being that guy with nothing. Once i hit accept I think "Status" and a screen pops up.

Skills- Identification level 1

Racial ability- Crafty-Quick witted you can think your way out of most situations with your unique abilities.

So....I'm a gremlin....I think while sighing, thinking about how most stories about gremlins make them into just little troublemakers. i look down and see the rabbit again and decide to try my Identification skill.

(Blade Bunny Level 3)

An evolved forest rabbit with thirst for combat. Because of its small size it will only attack those it deems weaker than itself.

"Huh so its actually a lot stronger than me. That's not exactly encouraging, especially since i don't have a weapon or any skills that can actually help me." I mumble as i start looking around and my eyes land on the rest of the fruit at the end of the branch. As I stare at it my eyes light up and I smile.

{You've learned to use a skill! Congratulations! Skills are an important part of living in Garthia! You can learn new skills by buying skill books, relentless practice, or by finding a master to teach you! To level skills you must use them or get creative with them. Remember there's no such thing as a useless skill!}

The tutorial interrupts once again as I can feel a Headache beginning to appear. I ignore the excited nattering of the tutorial as i inch my way back to the fruit bundle and start pulling the unripe fruit off. As i feel the first one I smile and squeeze it again to double check before grabbing several more and inching back to the trunk.

I smile down at the Rabbit and wave at it, its head tilting in confusion as it turns around to go back to sleep. I wait for it to close its eyes before taking one of the unripe fruits and throwing it as hard as i can at its head. As the fruit lands a hollow *thud* sound is heard from below followed by a confused growl.

"Damn i thought that could at least knock it out since these things are hard as rocks." I mumble as i stare at the rabbit that's glaring at me with hatred. It roars at me again and charges the tree in anger, its paws letting it make it a few feet up before it realizes its back legs went to far into the trees bark. As it starts to struggle to pull its legs out of the tree I smile as i begin to pelt the Rabbits face with the rest of the unripe fruits. After the last one nails it into the eye it finally cries out in pain and fall unconscious, hanging by its back legs from the trunk of the tree.

"Finally! I can escape!" I say with glee as i start to climb down the opposite side of the tree and glare at the Rabbit that's still hanging there pitifully. As i pass its body I look at it closer and see that its head is really beaten up and the last fruit actually pulped it's left eye leaving it bloody and ragged. As i see that i feel kind of bad for doing that kind of damage, it was just an animal doing what they do after all, so once i get on the ground i begin searching for a sharp branch and once i find a sturdy enough one i walk towards the beast and stab the branch through its already destroyed eye, killing it instantly.

{Congratulations Warrior! You've killed your first enemy and leveled up! To level up in Garthia you can either gain experience or EXP from killing living beings or by Creating and advancing trade skills! Also don't forget to loot that enemy champ! you never know when you'll need that mouse meat or bandits knife!}

I grimace as the tutorial says loot while looking at the dead rabbit still hanging from the tree. After a few minutes i slowly start to pull the body, grunting as i yank harder and harder before i hear a pop and land on my ass. When i look up i see that I've got the rabbits body but its blades actually are still in the tree and there's a small puddle of blood flowing from the body's ankles. As i notice the blood i throw the body off me and start throwing up to the side, the coppery scent making me sick as i feel the sticky blood on the bottoms of my feet. Finally after several minutes of puking, shaking, and crying some more I calm down and approach the tree where the blades are. I begin carefully pulling one, then the other out, and set them on the ground while inspecting them.

(Blade Bunny Blades-Uncommon crafting material)

The blades of a Blade Bunny, Sharp as a knife and has considerable durability.

I smile as an idea comes to me and I begin to look for vines. After a few minutes i haven't found anything i can use and begin to get mopey again when i realize a thick sap is oozing out of the tree where the blades were. I get another idea and begin taking the few weak vines I've already found and slather them in the sap before tightly tying the bunny blade to the end of my stick.

{Congratulations Merchant! You have created your first masterpiece! Well maybe not a masterpiece but with time and effort you'll get there! You have learned your first trade skill! To level this skill you must continue to use it so that it can grow! Remember to think outside the box!}

(Skill obtained-Weaponsmith level 1)

(Skill obtained-Scavenge level 1)

Sweet! Two new skills right off the bat! This is exciting just imagine all the epic weapons i can make or the secrets of the world I can find! Maybe i can actually survive after all! I think before looking towards the body of the rabbit and gulp.

As i approach the rabbit i try thinking of different options to bring up its loot box before realizing that to loot an animal or even a body in this world I would actually have to skin it or undress it. As i thought about that i wondered something and thought "Inventory" sighing as in my mind a picture of me appears along with my current and a single box as my inventory. As I stare at my picture i realize that I'm kind of ugly cute, i stand at around 3 feet tall with a humanoid build. My body is average weight and my arms are a little long that they used to be. I have small green eyes and a puffy nose that sits above a large mouth filled with sharp teeth. Three tiny horns sit atop my head as large pointed ears stick out of my head, my entire body is covered in a dark russet fur with small red spots around my forehead. My hands, feet, face, and chest are bare and have a light brown skin tone, i also notice i have small claws on my hands. I shake my head and frown before closing the box and looking at the rabbits body again. As i turn around i remember the other bunny blade and snatch it off the ground before i start to skin and bitcher the body. The Sun is starting to set before I finally huff in relief and look at the giant puddle of blood, fur, bones, and organs that are scattered around the area.

"It wasn't easy but i finally finished butchering it! And i even made a bag....kinda...." I say proudly before inspecting the slightly soggy sack lying at my feet.

(Rabbit fur sack-Garbage quality bag)

A sack made out of wild rabbit fur. The fur was not tanned properly and was extremely damaged. This bag will only last a few hits before being destroyed.

"Damn and i thought i did pretty good for my first time..." I mutter in defeat before picking up the bag and putting the rabbit meat as well as the heart, kidneys, liver, and skull inside and sealing it as tight as i can. I grimace as i see blood dripping out of the bottom before shrugging and start my journey into the forest and away from my starting zone.
