Having Class

I open my eyes to the sounds of growling before a giant ball of fur rolls over my body and land near my legs, giant yellow eyes staring up at me in happiness before the other bearsk cub crawls onto my chest and begins slathering my face with drool. After laughing at the cubs antics for a few minutes and playing with them I notice a blinking display and pull it up, smiling happily at the message.

{Quest completed! You now have access to a CLASS! Scanning all current skills and achievements to determine possible choices. Scan completed please select one of the following options!}

Diplomat- Skillful at recruiting others to your causes as well as having knowledge of the inner working of government, diplomats have few combat skills but many followers and allies to fight for them.

Chieftain- You take what you want through force and strength and yet you lead with your peoples interests at heart. Skilled in combat and leading forces you lack knowledge in governing which leads to a more savage and primitive lifestyle but a well developed combat awareness.

Liberator- You fight for the people and in turn they fight for you! No shackles nor bars can hold your ability to rally those underprivileged and abused to your cause! Though many will follow you with fanaticism and those you cross will forever wish you dead.

Survivor- You are the sole survivor of your once proud race. As such you gain knowledge of their past deeds and skills along with the ability to one day bring back their glory. Although lacking in most area's you can gain insight on how to strengthen those weaknesses so history cannot repeat itself.

?????-You fight for those who need help, you survive against all odds, you show acceptance to both monster and man. Gods entrust their wishes upon you and enemies fall to your blade but you have much more to learn. Choose the path of the unknown and risk both the boons and curses that could come with it. (Class may only be held by a single individual in this world. Unique)

Finally! I can get a class and start learning skills and fighting styles but what the hell is up with these choices. I mean a diplomat? Yea I'm building a town but I won't need that for a long time and it won't help us survive. Nope nest option! Chieftain's upside is we can get stronger cus of the war skills I guess but if I remember the gnoll chieftain's settlement was just a bunch of teepee's and shacks with only the settlement stone building. There's no way I want to live like that and in the long run it wont help us prove we're just as strong and civilized as the actual civilized races. Plus it doesn't help Toma's quest of being creative.

Liberator sounds fancy on paper but then there's the whole fanatics thing. I don't want to be leading crazy people around that just sounds like terrorism plus it says I could lead the poor and down trodden but usually there aren't any real strong or talented people mixed in unless your lucky. And with so many we wouldn't be able to change that situation for a long time. Survivor could be good but if I'm the only one left why would I want to get all the knowledge of what happened to my people. Nope it's better for me to start from scratch and make a new name for gremlins. So that leaves the mystery class.

Just question marks and it says its a unique choice that only one person can have so it has to be good right? I remember in games if you got a title that nobody else could it made you sought after so maybe that could be the case here. And it does mention boons which are like good things but the curses seem like a counter balance.

"I choose the unique class!" I say out loud with assurance in my voice before the system displays a message.

{Decision accepted! Class revealed Soul Reader! This rare creature only comes along once every few centuries. Although powerful they begin their lives with little knowledge of the world and frail bodies. Although starting this way they learn skills quickly and have the ability to absorb the souls of their enemies both learning their knowledge and having a small chance to gain one of their skills.}

Skills obtained!

Soul Harvest- The ability to absorb the knowledge of a slain enemy. Can only be used on those defeated by the Soul Reader.

Absorb- The Soul Reader attempts to absorb a random skill from a defeated enemy and make it their own. Can only be used once daily. Cannot Absorb skills higher than the Soul Readers mastery level.

{You have obtained a Cursed skill! Cursed skills are skills or abilities that have been extinguished from this world due to their dangerousness. Those that follow certain God's or divine level beings will hunt you if they learn of this!}

{New Quest Received! Knowledge is Power-Learn the history of the Soul Reader and its abilities.}

Damn! That's so overpowered for a class! I can steal peoples skills and instantly learn the stuff they know! I wonder how strong the knowledge thing is and how good of a chance I have at learning a skill. As I read through the information I finally reach the cursed skill part and frown.

"I hope Toma isn't one of those gods that hate this skill but since his system gave me the option I have to assume he's alright with it. But what about Harold and the other adventurers? He's a priest so he must pray to someone hmm....Will have to figure this out when we get back. Anyways Dawn where's the retrieval team I figured they'd be here by now since I finished my quest?" I ask curiously as I glance over to where she usually hovers and see a small glowing woman instead of the luminescent ball. I can't help but stare in wonder at the pale skinned woman, her body barely the size of a grown mans hand. Porcelain skinned with faintly glowing hair that's blue tumbles down her back while her green eyes star at me in confusion before she smiles happily and tilts her head to the side. I almost blush at the realization that she's wearing no clothing before I realize that although she has a bust and extremly feminine features, that her entire body is completely smooth without even a navel or nails showing giving her an almost doll like feeling. I barely remember to use inspect on the woman before she opens her mouth and Dawn's voice comes out.

(Dawn Soul Sprite Level 1)

Soul sprites are extremly rare creatures said to only appear near creatures or places that hold immense significance to the world. Although not very powerful physically they hold a tremendous understanding of magic that touches the lines between life and death. Rumor's say that soul sprites help purify and lead souls to the afterlife in exchange for a small taste of their former lives.

"Master!!!! I evolved! I evolved! I did it! Woooooo! You don't understand how happy I am Master Noortain! Wisps only evolve rarely and even then they're still weak but I can feel it! I have some sort of power and I can feel a strange power coming from you as well! Thank you thank you thank you!" Dawn says as tears stream from her tiny face and I smile before tapping my shoulder and waiting for her to float over and sit on her usual seat.

"I'm glad you changed with me Dawn, it'll be nice to learn new things with somebody who's in the same boat ya know? But can you maybe answer my question now? I kind of really miss my house and now that your more than just light I'm gonna have to get you a place too." I say and watch as she nods and a blush appears on her pale face.

"I just sent our location now. Slab says that he had Wug take the body back first that way the cubs wont have to see it. They should be on their way over now. As for me I don't really know much about these kinds of sprites but I can tell you right now I don't actually need food or water to survive. I feel almost positive of that and I don't need my own room or anything either so I'll just find a comfy spot in your house or in the stones room and go from there!" She says happily before nodding her head a few times like she's assuring herself that she's right.

Before long I can hear footsteps and some breaking twigs nearby before a cackle follows the sounds. I can't help but smile at Slab's way of warning us before he pops his head around the corner and nods at me in respect.

"Stone hide evolution bearsk. Pretty damn impressive Master Noortain, gotta say that is a fine beast you put down. Plus with the size of this nest it's been here awhile so if we would've left it alone its grown cubs would eventually wander in our direction. Lucky for us you ended that plus we got ourselves these two little guys who will definitely help us. We train them right and we can have either war bearsk's or domestic ones since they'll work either way but we have to wait until we get back to camp before we can determine what they'll work as. Anyways lets get the hell out of here cus I don't know bout you but I want to sleep in my own furs tonight." Slab says as Jeff appears behind him and nods at me in respect. After a few more minutes of marking down the location and asking Slab some questions we finally start our journey home where hopefully I have a hot bath and some answers waiting for me.
