Christan POV

Before I could truly realize what's happening Tanya launched a huge ice beam at me and Zenko. Though at the last second I pushed Zenko along with Tama inside my place before I was hit full force with the blast sending me into a van parked nearby. The pain of my previous wounds slamming into the cold steel caused me to cough up blood as she lunged to punch me. Our fists collided midair, propelling me backward again. I went to counter-attack with a fire blast but she jumped in front of my place so I hesitated for a split second and she took full advantage. She hit me with a continuous series of dance-like kicks. 'I need to minimize my movements,' I thought as she continued to go to town on me with one kick after another. 'If I can't dodge then…' I retaliated her attacks with Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist.

It was working for a moment or two but she ducked one of the attacks and attacked at my blind spot with a punch that was coated in ice. However, inches from my face I intercepted the attack by using Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist again, lifting my right knee up. This knocked her arm back but she then went for a lariat but I once again countered by using the same leg to then push kick arm back stunning her for only a second before then hitting her with a quick bicycle knee that looked to have completely leveled her as she almost fell face first but ended up still standing. I then proceed to capitalize on her lack of awareness by drilling her in the head with one of her dance-like kicks. This sent her to the ground, and while I was in the air I was coming back down with a big fireball to put an end to this quickly. But then I saw the ground where she was beginning to freeze rapidly. It was only a second before she fired another ice blast while being half-buried in concrete. I just barely managed to evade it. I landed on the ground with a hard thud as I watched her pull herself out from under the ground with her upper body in that ice form from before. She was smiling.

'She's not playing this time. No long monologue, no demeaning jokes. She even lured me in to blast me from underground when my guard was down. She's just trying to kill me outright. The way I am now, she's a terrifying person to face alone,' I thought as we stared at each other for a moment. Well she did. I was having trouble with that. 'Urgh… I can barely see...and my feet.' I thought as I began to stagger as I tried to stay standing. "Trying to run. For a juncture, I thought that little flurry before was your second wind but turns out it was simply your dying gasp. Either way, it doesn't matter. I'll make sure to put you out of your misery." She said with that wry smile on her face the entire time.

Meanwhile at the Hero Association...

Bad POV

"We have to step in now. Even if you don't want to do it to help him. Then at least do it to protect the city." I told them as Child Emperor then spoke up. "I understand what you mean. As they are two dragon-level threats fighting in a highly populated city we should step in," he said as I then gestured for them to follow him but no one moved. He came back confused. "What's the hold-up?! Come on, let's go!" I said coming back in. "Do you need it spelled out for you idiot? We're in A-City and he's all the way in T-City. None of us can get there fast enough to do anything. If anything it's better if he goes out like this. Saves us the trouble of doing it ourselves." Atomic Samurai said while putting a blade of grass in his mouth. "You'll just let em' die. What about all that crap about rooting for him?" I questioned him. "I like a good underdog story. I never said he was any of our responsibility," This only served to piss me off more and more. "To put it in words you'll understand, he's a wannabe. Like he said, a failure."

At that moment Tornado got up from her chair and floated to the exit. "I'm done with this conversation. Call me when you have something about the Monster Association. I'm leaving." She said before floating past me without even looking at me. I gritted my teeth at this. "Fine stay back and watch from the sidelines. I'm going!" I shouted before putting my bat on my shoulder and began to head down to the main lobby of the building. I ran out of the front doors quickly before I was stopped by hearing someone speak suddenly. "You won't make it in time." I turned and saw it was Tornado. She had the usual annoyed look on her face. "You're wasting your time. Some no rank loser is not worth the time to take care of by S-Class. Even you can understand that." She said with her arms crossed as she literally looked down at me. "That no rank loser is my friend and I'll be damned if I'mma let that fucker die," I said before I turned to walk away from her as she just let out a "hmph".

But then I remembered something and I turned back around. "You know what, I don't get it," I said, which got her attention. She turned back around and asked what I was talking about. "I just don't get what he sees in you." My words got her to uncross her arms and float down till we were at about eye level. "This is stupid. Stop being vague and spit it out already!" She yelled out before then told her. "Christan. Of all the heroes he could look up to. It's you. You're what he tries to be like," when I told her this her expression changed from annoyed to stunned. "Everything he does is because he thinks that's what you'd do. He's still fighting because you wouldn't stop till you won. He's not running away because you wouldn't run. He won't ask for help because you fight alone but at least he appreciates the help. He helps anyone because he thinks that's what you'd do. He even mimics your damn clothes. Why do you think he wears all black?" She looked to be actually listening to me but I had no time to be chatting with her. "But I guess he really is a failure. Because his idol won't even help him," I said as she just floated there blank-faced. "Whatever. I'm done talking to you." I then ran off leaving her there.

Third POV

"He dodged that last attack by using a leg move with Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist. This young man is using everything he can to just dodge. He's barely keeping consciousness but he's still searching for an opening to attack," Silver Fang said while stroking his beard. "But there's no way Christan can keep fighting at this intensity," He said as some S-Class heroes looked at him curiously. "Watch carefully. He's already exhausted from the previous bout and now he's fighting for survival. Throwing caution to the wind," he explained as the battle raged on with them exchanging blows. Tanya manages to sweep his legs, and punches him in the face as he attempts to get up. "Every move takes its toll. He is getting weaker while this young lady stays strong." He finished explaining as her right hand then began to glow as ice crystals started to form in it before then blasted another ice blast at Christan which he nearly dodged by moving to the side only getting his torso and his knee scuffed. Although while the blast was still being fired Christan saw this as his opportunity to get a good hit in. He used what little firepower he had to propel himself around and then above the blast and basically glided his way over to Tanya. He increased his fist in fire and went for the same punch he used to beat Monic earlier. He punched her right in the face and a smile appeared on his face before he then saw that he had punched straight through her.

'An ice clone!? When did she–.' His thoughts were cut when he was hit from below the ground with an ice pillar. His chin was hit first knocking off the ground before he was hit with a storm of ice pillars launching him higher and higher. Then all of a sudden, Tanya furiously zooms out of the ice pillars, impaling Christan in the stomach, raising him higher into the sky, and continuously bashing him nonstop. Christan's eyes go blank and his jaw drops because of Tanya's instant hit. "This is just hard to watch. This is just a one-sided beatdown." Atomic Samurai said as he then stood up. "Your leaving, so soon?" Silver Fang asked him. "I can see where this is going. No need to watch the kid get killed." He said as he was about to leave before the news anchor spoke.

"Ladies and gentlemen, even after being hit with such a devastating attack, the vigilante hero has come back to his senses, and is sporting a wicked smile." When she said that Atomic Samurai turned back to the screen confused. "It's not over till it's over." Silver Fang said as he walked back over. Christan then grabs Tanya by the waist and lifts her above his head before bellowing. "If I can't beat you, I can at least barry you six feet under! Super Piledriver!!" The hero shouted out before he dive-bombed towards the ground as Tanya screams in legitimate terror as they plummet towards the ground. Her eyes go blank right before they smash into the ground causing the ground to shake and break. When they finally landed, it left a massive crater with Tanya implanted into the ground, face first. Leaving only her legs sticking out. As Christan was there his arms began to freeze as he never let go of her. "The hell?!" He yelled as he tried to pull himself free as his body began to slowly freeze.

Eventually, his head was the only thing left to freeze. Yet he continued to struggle. "It's no use," She said as Christan watched her crawl out of the ground nearby, body fully intact. "This is perfect. My perfect ending. If it makes you feel better, you gave me quite the scare with that little stunt you pulled. But we both knew it would end this way. Your death will finally allow me to get some much-needed beauty sleep," he continued to struggle. Thrashing around trying with all his might to escape to no avail. "As I said before, you're nothing special. You'll never be special. You're just a mistake that I have to correct. Get that in your head and freeze." After her cold words, Christan became a lot more erratic as his head slowly incased in ice. He starts devolving into insane laughter as his entire body is frozen solid with him still smiling. "Well, it looks like my work here is completed. I do so enjoy our chats, but I really must be off." Tanya said as she turned and began to walk away. Zenko gasps as she holds Tama while tearing up. "I saw this coming but I'm not happy it happened." Silver Fang said as Atomic Samurai spoke.

"As I said, no point in watching him die." He then got up from his chair but before he could leave an explosion went off on the screen. "Oh, what now?" He asked, looking at the screen bewildered. Tanya turned as dust and ice flew everywhere, some almost hitting her as she covered her face. Within the smoke, she saw Christan's silhouette ripping himself out of the ice. "Tanya!!!!" His gravelly voice rang throughout the nearly silent city as the dust cleared revealing the battered hero. A chunk of ice was still attached to his left leg and blood dripped from his head. Tanya was not happy to see him still alive. Veins appeared on her forehead as she stared him down with cold eyes. "I don't care how far I have to go! I won't stumble and I'll keep fighting!" He says as he wipes the blood from his face into his hair giving him a half red streak in his hair. "This is who I am now, and if you think you can stop me then you need to think again. 'Cause I am a hero and I'll never lose!" He shouts as he stomps down his left foot shattering the ice around it. "I won't let you hurt my city and I'll never accept having a limit!" He says as his wicked smile returns while Tanya scowls at his declaration. Then the ground began to shake violently. 'The hells going on? Is she doing this?' I asked myself as I looked to she looked to be just as confused. "What is this shaking?!" She yelled out as it suddenly stopped.

Christan POV

My vision slowly came back as I waited for something to happen. But then I felt something odd from above. I've never felt anything like this before. It was really dense, like the pressure of it could crush me in an instant. I looked up and there was a light that caused me to cover my eyes. A green light, it was small at first but it then started to get bigger before it no longer was just a light. 'No way.' I thought as I then got a clear look at it. "Tornado of Terror?" I said as she floated down till she was in-between us. Without looking at me, she spoke. "Go rest, Vigilante! I'll clean up this mess!" Her voice sounded shrill but very commanding. I wanted to speak up but I couldn't find the words and ended up standing there still in disbelief. 'What is she doing here? How would she even know where I am?' I thought as I looked around and noticed the news helicopter above us. 'The News?! How long have they been there? That must be it. The Hero Association must have sent her.' I thought as Tanya spoke.

"Another assist from the S-Class heroes, huh Christan. But this time you substituted that stick-wielding idiot for a little girl, and–." But before she could finish that sentence she was flung into a nearby building, with a simple raise of her hand. Tornado looked pissed off, her green aura was very vibrant and large. "You little brat!!" Tanya shouted as she bursted out of the ground with an ice flower below her. Her ice form was practically falling apart. She then launched three ice blasts at her but Tornado effortlessly dodged each and everyone, progressively getting closer to her. 'I can't follow her movements. This is nothing like Bad. She's on a whole other level.' I thought before she was right in her face, floating like she was laying down with her arms crossed. Tanya's face was completely in shock as she was eye to eye with her, before then Tanya tried to use one of her spinning dance-like kicks. But it was in vain as Tornado quickly just raised her hand, with a single finger flick she sent Tanya into a tailspin in the opposite direction she spun. 'She's barely even trying and she's easily tossing her around like a ragdoll. I couldn't even manage that when I was healthy.' I thought as I slowly made my way over to some railing as the pain finally started to catch up to me.

"Know your place." Tornado said as Tanya started to move in the crater she was laying in. But before she even has time to react, she is viciously pummeled by a flurry of debris from Tornado. Tanya tries to counter-attack against her attacks by shooting ice to freeze her attacks but her efforts are in vain due to everything she could do will just be thrown back at her. 'This fight is over. She's completely overwhelming her with sheer power.' I thought as I then saw ice begin to appear behind Tornado. It was Tanya coming out of the ice she left from our fight. 'She must have switched out with a clone during the barrage.' I thought before she was about to attack but I intervened. "Behind you!" I shouted as I blasted Tanya with a fireblast, catching her off guard. "You little–." Tanya was about to attack me but before she could, Tornado dropped a previously destroyed large building on her. Sending dust and debris everywhere. I stood there breathing heavily, unsure if I could have dodged her in time. And then the dust cleared revealing Tanya, facedown trembling as she was no longer in her ice form. She slowly got on her hands and knees as Tornado floated over to her with her arms crossed.

"No. No. No. I will not fall to another of you S-Class heroes. I only came here to claim my vengeance, but you people just keep interfering. Well to hell with all of you. Protect him all you want brat. It'll take more than a midget to stop–." But I had heard enough, while she was still mouthing off I ran up on the side of her and punt kicked her. This immediately knocked her out as I then leaned against a large chunk of building that hit her a moment ago. I looked down at her unconscious body breathing heavily as I felt my whole body finally give out as I slid down the rough concrete. "You talk too much." I said as I slowly began laughing to myself with a big smile on my face as I felt my eyes become heavy, while everything looked blurry. But there was one person I saw before I passed out completely. 'Tornado.' She floated over to me as I thanked her before I passed out.

A Few Minutes Later….

I wake on the couch staring at the ceiling in a daze. I had a massive headache. My body felt numb but I could still move. I sat up and immediately saw Zenko. "Oh hey, Zenko. I had the weirdest dream," I said before she ran to hug me, causing a ton of pain as she angrily scolded me. I laughed it off before continuing. "Tanya showed up and almost killed me. But I was saved by Tornado of Terror. Crazy right?" I said before chuckling to myself as Zenko started pointing behind me. I raised my eyebrow in confusion as I then heard a familiar voice from behind me. "So you're him. The ghost story himself. Comes and goes as he pleases and answers to no one. The Vigilante Hero, or Christan," my entire body went cold when I laid eyes on her. Seeing her up close, she had a petite body, an adolescent face with bright emerald green eyes, and green hair that naturally curls up on the ends. She wore a form-fitting black dress with long sleeves, and four high-cut leg slits that show off her legs, and low-heeled black shoes. I was so shocked I nearly fell over but I caught myself. She didn't look happy. Our eyes met for an instant before averted my eyes quickly. "You're a hard man to track down, being a ghost story and all," she said as she floated up to me. She tilted her head and studied me for a couple of seconds while floating around me. For those two seconds, I had a weird feeling I was being evaluated. She then floated back to where we were at eye level.

"To put it bluntly, I recently found out a few things about you. One of those things, being that you exist." She said which was a bit odd. "You t-thought I wasn't real?" I asked her while trying to not stumble over my words. "I'm the one asking the questions here!" Her eyes began to glow green as she raised her voice. "I told you to stand down. Why'd you step in not once but twice?!" Her yelling caused things around us to start floating with her green aura. "S-she was going to attack you from behind. I helped you back there." I said way more aggressively than I meant. "Don't underestimate me. I knew what she was doing. I wanted her to reveal her true body, all you did was interfere where you weren't needed," I looked down angry and frustrated, gritting my teeth at her harsh words. "You're just lucky that girl was handled by the cops before I could finish her off." When she told me that, I let out a sigh of relief. "Hey! He saved your butt back there. He didn't ask for your help, whoever you are." Zenko said getting in Tornado's face as they angrily glared at each other. 'Wow, they're just alike.' I thought as I awkwardly smiled at this before pulling Zenko back.

"It's alright, Zenko. It's fine. This is who I told you about. You've seen her before, she's a hero like your brother. This is the Tornado of Terror, she's the one that gave me my powers." I told Zenko as I also got a good look at Tornado. "Enough with the introduction I have other things I need from you. I said I found out a few things about you recently. The first was your existence and the other is," she said while looking at my clothes. "That you evidently idolize me." When she said which made me blush a little as my eyes widened for a moment. Rubbing the back of my neck in embarrassment.

Tatsumaki POV

"I don't believe this. I was actually having a really good day today, you know, Tornado." He said which confused me. "You call almost dying a good day? You're a real idiot ya know." I told him as I sat down on the pool table before crossing my legs looking at him. 'I can't tell if he's a fool or just fearless.' I thought before I spoke. "Enough small talk fanboy. Why are you doing this? I want to hear you say it. Not some story told," he looked flustered, he kept stumbling over his words. Like he didn't want to make any mistakes before he finally spoke clearly. "I assume you mean Bad told you guys about me and everything else right. I'm not sure there's much more to add then what he told ya." He told me as he wrapped his arm in tape. "That's not enough. I need a more than what he told me. You're a very controversial person among the S-Class. Some praise you to high heaven. Others not so much. So what's your MO? What really gets you off that couch?" I explained to him as he then asked me a question. "Well, what do you think of me?" Again with this question. I gritted my teeth before letting out a sigh.

"What does it matter? And didn't I say I'm the one asking the questions?" I told him while crossing my arms. "If you really know about me then you know that it matters to me a lot." I actually blushed at this but quickly coughed to get it to go down. He looked so serious, much more than he was before. "In my honest opinion, you disgust me. You're a loudmouth wannabe." This seemed to not shock him like he was expecting it. "Well I saw that coming. But it doesn't hurt any less," he said before chuckling to himself. Just means I gotta get stronger. That's all I can ever do." Almost everything he says just surprises me. 'He thinks a little like me for a guy I've never met.' I thought before I questioned what he meant by that's all he can do. He laughed at first before leaning on his couch. "It's simple. I've been around for a while now. I wasn't sure if I had much left to prove, but yeah I do. I beat monsters, I protect my city to the best of my ability. Risking my life to protect people that don't even know my name. That probably sounds stupid to some but that's how I liked it," He told me while leaning forward staring at the floor. "I look at myself now and think, damn. How proud of me I am. What I did, it's nothin' to sneeze at. Demons to dragons, all fall to the no rank nobody. I thought I did it all.

But in actuality I haven't. I ask myself all the time where am I supposed to go from here? Really, I have no idea. All I know is every time I think I hit my ceiling. I go higher than I've ever been." He said standing up and walking away from me and washing out the blood in his hair.

"Seeing you two fighting earlier opened my eyes. You were incredible," he said, pulling his white hair out of the water letting it flow backward. like nothing I could ever imagine. There's no way I can stay at the same level I'm at right now. You got me all fired up!" While he was saying that steam began to come off him as I saw him clench his fists before he let out a yell that caused him to burst into flames for a brief moment. I had to shield my eyes because it was so bright. A bright vibrant aura erupted from him that brightened the entire room before he dispersed his aura. "Sorry for the long explanation. I tend to ramble when I'm nervous," He said before rubbing the back of his head and awkwardly laughing. "But to make it easier to understand. I believe in noblesse oblige, those with power should use it to help those who don't." He told me. 'He almost died twice only a few minutes ago and he's already got his sights set on the next challenge. I originally thought he was like Fubuki. Relying on others to get stronger but he's very self-reliant. His living space is enough evidence of that.' But while I was caught up in thought he sat down on the other end of the pool table and spoke.

"I noticed that you looked at my clothes," it broke my concentration as I looked over puzzled. "You know, the black. I thought you might find it weird but I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." He said which made him go from looking up at the ceiling to looking at me at the corner of his eye. Which just made me narrow my eyes at him. "Flattery will get you nowhere, you still disgust me." I told him crossing my arms before letting out a "hmph" as I turned away from him. "Wasn't trying to. I….I just wanted to be like you," He said, startling me. I slowly turned back to face him. 'No doubt about it. He looks up to me. But I can't have him still at large. Let's try to put him down easily. I let out a sigh before speaking. "It's a nice dream but try being more realistic. What if somebody had died out there, huh? Different story, right? That's on you. The nameless hero that no one knows. And if you died, I feel like that's on me. I unintentionally gave you these powers. I got enough to deal with as is. I don't need that on my conscience. To be honest, I wish my sister thought like you." I told him which made his look change to that of confusion.

"But me being a hero isn't just because of you. You know my story. I tried the hero exam before I even had powers. And besides, who's gonna keep this place safe. Bad isn't always gonna be around and none of the heroes around here can stand up to anything that–." But then I cut him off. "If you join the Hero Association, then there's no issue. You can at least get paid and move out of this place. Are you still bitter about not getting in the first time? Is that it?" I told him which got a quick reply of "nope". "I don't want to be limited with a rank. I have no doubt I can pass that stupid test but ill never be able to push myself. No challenge," he crossed his arms before lifting up a finger. "For example, how many times have you been told that a monster of this level is not of the S-Classes' concern. Or that someone else can handle this. That's what I mean. If I join the association I'll just be limited to the sidelines while you guys have all the fun with the tough monsters. I'm a hero but even I get bored beating monsters in one shot." He told me before leaning back on the pool with his arms behind his back.

'I hate to admit it, but he has a point. I'm always demanding to be sent out to take down a monster but I'm always told the same thing. But even so…' I thought as I floated off the table as I spoke. "It's not all fun and games. As incompetent as they are. None of the S-Class live for the thrill of fighting. And besides, limits exist for those with a natural ceiling. Today has shown that you're one of those people. You've hit your limit." After I said that, I felt the atmosphere in the room change. His closed eyes slowly opened and he stood up and walked up to me with a completely different look on his face. He had a much softer expression ever since we started talking but now he looks like a whole other person. He looked a lot more sterner and defined. "I said I don't like being limited by others," as he spoke, steam began to come off him. He clenched his fists before he burst into that flaming aura again. Though this time the flames were a lot more erratic. "That includes you." He said looking me in my eyes. My aura also began to flare as my patience was already at its breaking point. I felt a vein appear on my forehead as we stared each other down. 'This is a waste of time. This idiot won't listen to reason.' I thought before I spoke. "You really have a death wish. You should know your place! Just remember I gave you an out." I said as I noticed something about him as he was standing there.

'He's trembling. He's scared out of his mind. But then why is he still standing here with that determined look on his face?' I thought before he spoke again, still looking in the eyes. "Before we do this. I have one last thing to ask." I raised an eyebrow at his request before saying "Talk". "If you were in my position and your idol told you to stop being a hero. Would you?" His question made me feel as if time had stopped. His words just kept replaying in my head. I thought about it for a moment. 'Would I? If he….' I was at a loss for words. Only a few seconds had passed before he then said "Well". I closed my eyes and let out a sigh as my aura went back to normal. "Whatever. It's not even worth it anymore. Go die for all I care." I told him as I floated back over to the front door to leave. I was about to leave before he called out to me. I turned back to him annoyed at his constant pestering. "What?!" I asked as I locked eyes with him again, this time his face was a lot more gentler as he smiled. "Thanks Tornado. Next time, I won't go expecting someone to come save me. I'll save you." I was stunned at him saying those words. I floated there for a moment before I just left without another word.

Back At The Hero Association

"I don't have to explain myself to any of you." I said as the rest of S-Class kept asking why I interfered. "You expect us to just look over your actions and move on. You think too highly of yourself." Flashy Flash said which pissed me off immensely but then Silver Fang spoke up. "Let's not all gang up on the young lady. She is entitled to do as she pleases. In my eyes, she saved someone's life. Like any hero would." He gave me a small nod as I uncrossed my arms and rested my head in my hand on the armrests. "I won't repeat myself so listen up," this got everyone's attention as I resumed what I was saying. "The Vigilante Hero isn't someone we need to concern ourselves with. He isn't a threat."
