Weird Doctor

Bernadette paced around her hiding spot feeling all bored and irritated. She was charged with keeping an eye on Dr Neil, one of the doctors with psychological problems who also purchased the drugs used on the crime scene.

Dr Gerald Neil was a famous surgeon who enjoyed a lot of praises for his professionalism and success.

But after some years of being recognized as a top surgeon, he began to falter on his job.

What happened was that after his patient died on his operating table, the family members were angry because they forked up a huge amount of money to pay for his services only to have it worse.

Out of anger, one of the relatives shouted, "maybe you should also learn the art of 'supplying life' to your patients!"

After that incident, Dr Neil began to research and build some terrifying formulas which was kept a secret. He would sneak these chemicals and improved "organs" into patients' bodies.

The method worked every time and he was praised for his ability to perform surgery on a person who could be able to return his normal body functions as if the surgery never happened.

However, after few months, the organs and chemicals began to develop major side effects on the patients.

He was arrested and stripped of his license and sent to a correction centre where he was locked up to receive treatment for over 5 years.

His release was welcomed with fear but the hospital assured everyone that he was harmless.

"So much for being harmless!" Bernadette harrumphed and continued to pace around. She checked her digital watch and it was already 5 p.m.

She had been keeping an eye on him for over 11 hours! And nothing abnormal had happened.

The man had a daily routine, which was repeated over and over again like a circle of time.

Since yesterday, Bernadette noticed that the weird doctor would wake up by 7 a.m., brush his mouth, eat a bizarre combination of food, put up a board and walk around it with a small pointer, occasionally writing something down like he was delivering a lecture to an unseen audience.

Out of everything he said to himself, Bernadette could only make out some few words.

After lecturing himself, he would have a five minute of laughing session; he would laugh so hysterically that Bernadette felt like grabbing his head and punching a hole through it!

After this, he would take off his lap coat and return back to bed.

So far today, he has repeated this cycle for 4 times!

Bernadette only hoped that her colleagues who were investigating the other three doctors had it better than her.

...and he's up again.

After brushing and eating his bizarre food, he took a small contact lenses and put it on.

Bernadette froze for a bit.

He wasn't repeating his cycle now?

She became more interested now.

The doctor put on a normal shirt and went out of the house.

Bernadette followed closely behind while maintaining a low profile.

Bernadette noticed something really strange;

The weird doctor behaved like a very normal person after leaving his house. He said hi to almost everyone.

Although people were afraid of him somewhat, that didn't stop them from "socialising".

Bernadette realised that this was the abnormal movements she needed to take note of.

But he didn't leave the house yesterday, or is this another cycle?

Bernadette followed him to a house. A very large mansion owned by one of Haston city's richest CEOs.

What business does he have with the CEO?

Don't tell me he is secretly giving medical advice to this family, he doesn't have a licence for goodness's sake!

Bernadette took a few more photos like she had been doing since yesterday. She couldn't go in there; only people with special invites or those with an appointment could get through.

She couldn't use her police badge to enter, what would she be looking for?

Bernadette stayed around to monitor when he'd come out....

....

Meanwhile, as Dr Neil knocked on the door after passing all security checks, a weird smile formed on his lips and kept widening till he broke out into soft chuckles.....
