Her Arch Enemy

The sun was shining after the slight drizzle early in the morning and the birds were chirping a chorus of their own, a beautiful and natural thing, Maria noticed. She brushed her mouth and washed her face with cold water. She had over slept again today.

She was slightly pissed that Fred didn't wake her up to prepare for work. It was almost as if he enjoyed allowing her to sleep all day long. She had been tired the previous day so much so that she only remembered dragging herself to her room.

She saw a note on the table with a plate of food. She was tempted to take a bite from it. It was her brother's food and he had put in a lot of effort in making it besides, he was the only one whom she could trust and it hurt her that she was treating him like this.
