The Truth Is Finally Out

Bryan left the station after saying a few more words to Bernadette and James. He turned down Bernadette when the latter offered to help take him back to the hospital. He had other plans.

He wheeled himself out of the station and turned to the street corner and took out his phone and dialled a number. He waited for two seconds before the call was answered.

A light voice sounded on the other end of the line, "Bryan? I heard you got battered badly."

A bitter smile surfaced on his lips before he answered tersely, "more than you'd imagine."

"Do you need anything?" it was Miss Angel on the other line. She had been informed by her men—the few core members of her personal team who shared the same drive as her in taking down the Organisation from within—that the detective had been carried out of his apartment on a stretcher after the attack.
