The Tenth Victim

  The night was a bit cold but the moon shone from the clear sky as if it was declaring its dominance over the clouds and the stars twinkled alongside like obedient servants.

In his hospital ward, Bryan tossed endlessly without being able to fall asleep as many thoughts assaulted his mind. He was torn between a rock and a hard place.

He was only brought back to reality by the sharp pain that threatened to break his ribs away. He turned his head with a slight grimace and looked out the glass window at the shining moon before sighing and turning to sleep.

  However, the moment he closed his eyes, images of the previous crime scenes floated back into his head and his eyes flew open once again.

"This will be a very long night…" he sighed in defeat but at this moment, he felt an ominous feeling but he turned to his side anyway. The pain in his ribs was contributing to his sleeplessness.
