Battle of Ape Canyon

Lalla Maimuna, daughter of al-Dimriyat, sister of Maymun, found herself on Earth riding through the air on her cloud: the Cloud of the Hermit.

Maimuna's tail fluttered through the air, she loved the wind through her hair, the Staff of Yaghmus visible from her back.

(Maimuna had two pieces of the staff, whilst her brother had the third piece. Something else to note: Maimuna looks "slightly '' different than that of her brother. Whilst Maymun looks humanoid with monkey-like-features, Maimuna looks more human, but with a monkey's tail. No-one could explain this to al-Dimriyat when she was born, but the Djinn King of Saturn loved his child nonetheless - some might even say that he loves Maimuna more than Maymun, but a parent would never admit such a thing.)

Maimuna had not been to Earth for a long time.

Whilst Saturn was beautiful and all, Earth had an entirely different allure.

After having surfed the sky for a good while, Maimuna noticed a castle in the distance.

The whole structure was massive.

Maimuna quickly made herself invisible, as all Jinn had that kind of ability; so now it looked merely like a cloud was passing by.

" It is sad, really. She did not deserve that kind of treatment. "

Maimuna decided to eavesdrop on the guards' conversation.

" Just because she looks like a primate: does not mean that she is foul. "

" Poor Princess… "

Maimuna decided to pay this Princess a visit.

Princess Chonguita was looking out her window, dreaming of flying across the clear blue sky.

The Princess was humanoid with ape-like-features, but she was not born this way: she had been cursed.

Her father, the King, absolutely abhorred by his daughter's appearance, locked her up for good; hoping that Chonguita would do them all, especially himself, a favor and just end her existence.

Despite all the cruelty, the Princess persevered.

She made do with what little food and water she received - her father clearly trying to starve her.

Chonguita could not bring herself to hate, nor despise, her father nor kingdom.

She may not have been born to look like a monkey, but she was born with a kind heart, and for better or worse: Chonguita cherished that alone.

" Hello? "

The Princess positively fell on her butt, as Maimuna appeared before her.

" Sorry. " said Maimuna, helping the Princess back up.

" It is quite all right. You gave me a fright, is all. "

Chonguita was now able to take in all of Maimuna.

She was breathtaking, there was no denying it.

Chonguita then noticed Maimuna's tail.

" You're a monkey! "

" Yeah. And so are you. "

Whilst Maimuna was confident and happy with who she was, and how she looked. Chonguita on the other hand… not so much.

" What's wrong? "

" It is nothing, really… only that I admire your self-confidence, and envy your looks. "

" My looks? "

" Forgive me, I did not mean to be imprudent. It is just: you're like me… and yet: we are nothing alike. You can pass as one of them… and I can simply not. "

(The Princess found herself quite talkative. I suppose that is what happens when you haven't had anyone to talk to for a good while.)

Maimuna gazed at the Princess.

She noticed that Chonguita was malnutritioned, and started piecing the pieces together.

(She also couldn't help but notice that Chonguita resembled her brother very much.)

" Princess. How about a ride? "

Chonguita looked at her confused.

She then noticed the large floating cloud next to her.

" Oh dear, oh dear. " Chonguita was trying to get onboard the cloud; " are you sure that this is safe? "

" You'll be fine. " said Maimuna, already on the cloud. She held out her hand; " do you trust me? "

Chonguita looked up at her, and saw how Maimuna was radiating and glowing.

The Princess took hold of the extended hand, and off they went, for Maimuna had gone all: I can show you the world!

They had begun at dawn, and it was now night.

" That was absolutely magical! " exclaimed the excited Princess; " I only wish that it had not ended… "

Maimuna looked at her.

" Princess… are you happy here? "

Chonguita was silent.

" I am… content. Especially after today. "

Maimuna sighed.

" You could come with me? "

Chonguita looked at her with hopeful eyes.

" I couldn't… "

" You could! "

" I need some time to think it over... "

" I understand. " Maimuna hugged her; " I will be back tomorrow. "

Princess Chonguita looked on as Lalla Maimuna vanished within the night sky.

" She would make a beautiful bride. " said Jacko the Ape, as Princess Chonguita had caught his wicked gaze.

" Princess? "

Maimuna had returned to the tower, but there was no Chonguita in sight, but there were signs of a struggle.

" Princess… "

Maimuna immediately recognized the foreign fur.

" The Skunk Ape… "

Jacko was known far and wide as:

The Monkey Monster.

Maimuna followed the trail of fur: Some of it Jacko's, and some of it Chonguita's.

Jacko was monstrous, but Maimuna once fought the innumerable armies of Tharis and Taqil to a standstill, so Jacko the Ape was going to rule the day he was ever born.

" Princess! "

Maimuna had spotted the Princess and Jacko.

The Skunk Ape looked up at her, and then growled.

He then moved deeper within the canyon, Chonguita swung over his shoulder.

Maimuna pushed the Cloud of the Hermit to the limit.

Jacko swung at her.

Maimuna jumped, letting the blow pass, she then kicked Jacko square in the jaw.

Chonguita fell to the ground.

Jacko lounged for her, that was when Maimuna crushed his skull with the butt of her staff; forever christening the canyon:

Ape Canyon.

The Princess fell into Maimuna's embrace.

" It's okay. You're alright. "

The Princess shook.

She then said:

" I accept your offer. "
