warmth filled house

Their return journey ws too silent. Everyone was lost in their own thoughts. While Anna and Mike were just looking at the other three who were sitting like statues.

Mike elbowed Anna, she gave him a glare, but looking at his face, she sighed.

"Brother Alex, there are still two days left for christmas. What are we going to do then?" she asked Alex, bringing out her thoughts.

"Anything you say Anna." he replied, ruffling her hair.

"Then we can organise a small game, and play till late night." she replied, clapping her hands. "All of us will have dinner together, then we will talk, sing and dance till late night." Anna replied with a bright face.

"Uh, i dont think thats a good idea. Evelyn needs to go home and Bella needs rest." said Alex, shaking his head.

"No, i can stay. In fact I would love to have a party with you." replied Evelyn, clapping her hands like a kid.

Bella nodded her head in support. She wouldn't let mother elf go that easily.

"Oh come on Alex don't be the spoil sport." said Mike punching his shoulder lightly.

"Fine, if everyone wants that then go ahead." he replied shrugging his shoulders.

"Yay" squealed Anna, clapping her hands.

Reaching home, each took a few bags while Mike held the tree. They all went to Mike's house and settled on the sofa. Mike went in the room and brought aunt Sharron out.

She smiled looking at the happy faces of her children.

"So you all had fun today?" she asked with a kind smile.

Anna stood up from the sofa and settled herself on the mat. Keeping her head in aunt Sharon's lap.

Aunt Sharon ran hands in her hairs, which brought a blissful smile on Anna's face.

Bella was looking at them tilting her head, aunt Sharon looked towards her and signalled her to come through her hands.

Bella stood up and walked to them with a blank face.

Anna gave her a big bright smile and adjusted her head to a side. Aunt Sharon patted Bella's head and gently nudged her to keep it on her lap.

Bella followed, and kept her head just like Anna did. She keeps running her hands in both of their hairs.

It created a strange sensation in her body. All the tension she was feeling because of her mother elf, was gone.

Her body relaxed, and a small smile unconsciously crept on her face.

"You two should take care of yourselves too. Look how tired you were looking a while ago." she said, patting them.

"And who is this beautiful girl here?" she asked, looking at Evelyn.

"I am.." but before Evelyn could continue Mike cut her in between.

"This is your future daughter in law, mother. Her name is Evelyn. She is going to stay here tonight." replied Mike with a bright smile holding Evelyn's hands.

Evelyn coughed, taking her hand back in the process. She cringed every time Mike behaved so lovey dovey with her.

"Just how many daughters- in-law are going to get?" mumbled aunt Sharron in a barely audible voice. But she still gave a kind smile to the girl

"It's nice to meet you, Evelyn." she replied.

"So, what have you brought for each other." she asked, continuing the conversation.

Anna sat back and then she started rummaging the packets on the table. Finding what she needed, she opened it hurriedly and showed it to aunt sharon. It was a peach colour dress with small thread embroidery on the neck area.

"See, we brought this for you aunt Sharron. I want you to wear this on christmas, alright?" chirped Anna opening the dress and putting it in aunt Sharron's hands.

"Oh dear, you shouldn't have bought one for me. I have so many dresses already. Have you bought anything for yourselves or just wasted your money on this old lady?" she reprimanded them, but her voice was filled with love and concern.

"Of Course we did so." replied Anna and opened another packet.

"See this red scarf, brother Mike bought this for Evelyn, this black top is mine, and this pink woolen t-shirt is for Bella from brother Alex's side." she replied showing each dress by putting it over her body and turning it.

"Good, good every dress is looking very good." replied aunt Sharon, nodding her head.

"What about you two?" he asked the boys.

But before they could reply Anna again opened the other packet. "This is brother Mikes. And this is brother Alexs" she replied showing two tshirts.

"En, then why are there so many packets left?" she asked looking at the table.

"Oh, these are Evelyns, she had done shopping for her family too." replied Anna again.

"Actually I have bought all this for you." replied Evelyn, opening the bags.

The bags have fine class clothing, completely different from what they had bought from streets.

The dresses were screaming of luxury. It had a fully set suit for both males, and a beautiful gown for girls.

They all blinked looking at clothes, aunt sharon was the first to speak

"Oh, dear you didn't need to do that. You are a guest to this house. How could we take expensive gifts from you." she replied, shaking her head.

" of course, we can't take these gifts Evelyn." replied Mike, taking his mothers side.

Alex and Anna also nodded supporting them.

Evelyn had a complicated look on her face. All her lives she had given gifts. People always took it as granted. Even when many deny that they couldn't take it, their expression always said another thing. Slowly she had started to feel that humanity is losing to greed.

But all of their faces were innocent. It made her realise that humanity's care and concern was still there.

And what could she expect from the family who were even taking care of a demon.

She smiled at the feeling of warmth that had engulfed the whole house.
