I'm a Major

"Jia Yi," as some one calls and knock on the door. The girl on the bed puts the blanket over her head and kept sleeping. "It's time to wake up," as the voice gently saids.

It's the first time that she's back home since ten years ago after joining the army. Her father is Shen Yi Han and mother is Li Xin Er. She was born in a military family. Since her great grand grandfather's generation, they have been working for the country. Jia Yi also has an older twin brother. But ten years ago that airplane crash, Jia Yi's brother Jia Hao has died. In replacement of her brother, Jia Yi decides to join the army. Even though her parents told her that she doesn't have to do this, Jia Yi still went for it. She saids that she will help Jia Hao fulfill his dream.

In that ten years, Jia Yi worked very hard. She doesn't complain or slack off just because she's a girl. Very fast she has become the very first young major. But for some reason, Jia Yi has left the army. She retired from the military and went home. Yesterday at night when she arrived back home, no one asked her what happened. Shen Yi Han and Li Xin Er knows something must've happened. But if she don't want to tell them, then they won't go ask. Plus they are happy to see her home after leaving them for ten years.

This is the first time that Jia Yi has slept over time. Staying in the army for ten years has already made her get use to the 5am wake up time. But today she broke that habit.

She got out her bed, got dressed, and made her bed.

"Good morning mom and dad," as she walks downstairs and greets them. "Good morning," as both Shen Yi Han and Li Xin Er said. "Any plans for today?" as her mom asked her.

Shen Jia Yi is 28 this year. Even though her father has a company, she don't have that interest in going to help since basically half her life was in the army.

"I don't know yet," as she saids and eat her congee.

Both Shen Yi Han and Li Xin Er looks at each other. "It's okay. You just came back, so take some day off first," as her father saids. Jia Yi nods and continue eating.

After breakfast, Jia Yi rested for another an hour or so.

"Mom, I'm gonna go out for sec," Jia Yi saids. Li Xin Er who was in the kitchen prepping Lunch came out. "By yourself? Do you want Lao Wang to drive you?" as her mom said. Jia Yi declines, "I can drive myself."

Jia Yi got her license right away once she was 18, and in the military she has been driving also. Li Xin Er nods, and watches her leave.

"How may I help you?"as a receptionist looks at Jia Yi. "I came here for an interview. I heard that your hiring a Karate Coach." The receptionist looks at her and smiled. "Come with me." She guides her to a room.

The receptionist knocks on the door, and waits for an answer.

"Come in," as the voice said.

The receptionist opens the door and said, "Mr. Lu, someone came to apply for Karate Coach." Jia Yi stands there and looks at the man. He looks up and gives a warm smile.

"Have a seat," as he saids. Then he told the receptionist to bring in a cup of coffee.

"Tell me about yourself, and why you want to apply for this job," as he asks her.

"Hi Mr Lu, my name is Shen Jia Yi. I joined the military before, and just retired from it. Yesterday I just came back to A City, and while walking by here I saw the sign saying that you guys are hiring for a Karate Coach."

Mr Lu nods. "You must have some experience right?" as he asks her. Jia Yi nods. "Before joining the military, I learned Karate since I was four and I earned a black belt. I believe I'll do great in this job." She finish saying and looks at Mr. Lu.

"You may start tomorrow," as he saids with a smile.

Jia Yi smiles and said thank you.

After leaving the Karate school, Jia Yi went to a near by brunch cafe to eat.

"Hi, how many seats?" as the waitress asks her.

"One." The waitress guides her inside, and sets her down with a menu. Inside the cafe, it's mainly couples or friends. Jia Yi didn't mind, and just ordered a chicken teriyaki rice bowl. As she sips her cup of water there was a sudden crash of glass.

A man with a gun suddenly took a hostage and told everyone to back off. The hostage was a pregnant woman, and she couldn't stop shaking. Jia Yi quickly went up to where the workers are, and saw the man yelling at everyone to backoff or else he'll shoot the woman. The woman started crying, and the woman's husband was screaming to tell him to put down the gun.

"If you fire that gun right now, you won't be able to escape. The police are coming," as Jia Yi saids and firmly looks at him. "You just want a hostage right? Why don't you use me and let her go," as she saids again. The man suddenly puts the gun very close the hostage's head. "WHY SHOULD I TRUST YOU!!" as he saids.

"I'm a soldier. And not any normal one. I'm a Major. Think about it yourself. Which one is more worth to being a hostage." Jia Yi looks at him as he starts to think. "FINE!" as he slowly lets go of the pregnant woman and Jia Yi walking towards him with her hands up. Seeing that the pregnant woman finally save into her husband's arm, Jia Yi quickly twist his arm and kicked him.

But it's hard to avoid, and *BAM BAM*

Two gun shots was fired, and a group of armed men came in.

"Don't worry, were soldiers," as they show them their badge.

Laying on the floor, Jia Yi pushed the man who's on top of him and winced a little.

"Are you okay?" as one of the solider asks her.

Before that gun shot hits the man's chest, and missed Jia Yi. "Yea, I'm fine," as she stands up. She looks at the solider and then notice a man looking at her. Their eyes met and both didn't say a word.

"General, the rest of the gangs are already send back to the base," as Lieutenant Han saids. But seeing that the general didn't say anything, he turns and saw Jia Yi.

"Major Shen? Your here too?" as he saids. The general gave a quick glance at Lieutenant Han and quickly shuts his mouth.

Even though Jia Yi didn't get any major injuries, her arm was scraped from the glass on the floor.

The general puts a hand out, and Lieutenant Han knows right away. He hands him the first aid box, and Jia Yi looks at him.

"Lu Yuan Ting, I don't need your help," Jia Yi saids and looks at him firmly. But Lu Yuan Ting doesn't seem like he'll care. He pulls her into him, and not letting her leave.

As he cleans her wound, the rest of the solider are mind blown. Is this even there general? They all looked at Lieutenant Han for answers, but Lieutenant Han just shakes his head.

"Thank you. I'm gonna go now," Jia Yi stood up and walks out the door.

Lu Yuan Ting's eyes follows her as she disappears to the corner.

"Clean up the rest of the mess here, and head back." Lu Yuan Ting went back to his cold straight face again. Everyone didn't say anything and just did what he said.
