"The next weekend I made it to Marcus's house. His mother unlocked the door, she looked elegant. She had dark brown hair and beautiful back eyes. She asked me who I was looking for. I told her about the assignment and I wanted to meet Marcus and help him out with it because we were put in pairs. His mother told me Marcus didn't tell her that they were put in pairs. She also told me that Marcus had not reached home yet and she asked me if I could wait until he comes home. I gave her a yes and then she let me in. She served me some cookies and started talking about our studies and about stuff going on in our school. She also started to wonder why Marcus would hide that he had to work in groups for the assignment from her. She looked like a person who could understand me so I made up my mind to tell her everything that Marcus talked about me and why he refused to work with me. When I narrated the incident, she looked at me with concern. She looked as though she was listening to every word that came out of my mouth. After I finished narrating, she pulled me to a hug and said: "I am so sorry child". I said it was not her fault neither was it Marcus's fault. She gripped my hand and told me she will speak to Marcus about this. I gave her a huge smile because I was relieved after letting it out to someone. The doorbell rang Marcus was shocked to see me and his mom talking to each other like friends. His eyes grew wide as if they were about to pop out of his face real soon. The first thing he said when he entered was "you? what are you doing here". He also told his mom she doesn't know what kind of a girl I was. His mom folded her hands and gave him a sharp look and gave him an hour-long lecture. And I just sat there, slowly munching on the cookies she gave me."
I paused Darcy was listening to everything I was narrating to her, while pressing her lips together. She was listening to me like every word that I said was precious. "continue" she said keeping her hands beneath her jaw as a support to hold her head. "Darcy isn't this boring? " I asked her tucking my loose strands of hair behind my ear. She nodded her head in disagreement.
"we are soon to be besties, I need to know you more," she said. She gave me no other option but to continue my story.
"ok, so .... yea after that Marcus's face had dropped down and he said he was sorry about it. He explained that he had behaved like that because Adam had told him such things. I forgave him and we started working on the project together. We got an A+ and we also presented it before the class. The teachers were proud of our work. We were indeed a good duo. Marcus was intelligent he would top the class always and was focused on self-development. I used to learn a lot from him. We started meeting after school every day and would talk till I reached my school bus. He was a really interesting person; he knew a lot about current affairs and would gossip a lot about celebrities. I was into fashion and celebs at that time. Marcus would have a lot of details about them stored in his mind. He had dark brown hair and twinkling caramel eyes. He was about a five-eleven foot tall and his face was always warm and innocent. You could clearly see his intelligence in his face. Marcus was beautiful more than handsome. He looked like an angel. He was attractive and I started admiring him because I started spending more time with him in school than of how much I spent with Evelynn. Marcus would get me snacks regularly and would always have time for me. One day I realized I had feelings for him and I could no longer think of him as a friend. After that whenever he spoke with other girls it made me feel insecure. Marcus wouldn't spend much time with them. They would force him to talk to them but whenever he saw me, he would run away from them and would come to me. I started wishing if Parker had treated me the same way I would have neither had a crush on Marcus nor would I have argued with him whenever he spoke to me.
I never thought I would develop feelings for Marcus like all the other girls. He was unapproachable to them but was easily approachable to me. Girls grew jealous of me because of this and they started avoiding me. Marcus was absent to school one day because he wasn't feeling well. Alicia and Jesper came to me and asked me what did I do to Marcus that he would ignore all the other girls except me. First of all, I didn't know Alicia and Jesper in person I was shocked by their confidence and guts to approach me just like that. I turned my face away; they have Parker so why do they care about Marcus. Alicia said Marcus was her guy and she's going to ask him out and she was confident that he's going to accept her proposal. I gave her a let-me-go-look and turned away from them. Alicia grabbed my hand and turned my jaw. Her fingers were cold she was furious, I could tell it from the look in her face. Jesper looked as though she's going to beat me down. When Alicia removed her hand, my face grew pink because of the pressure she applied on it when she was holding it. I'd say fighting a girl for a guy is the lamest thing a girl can ever do. Alicia did not leave my hand. She was biting her teeth and Jesper got her water bottle out and splashed water on me. They called me hippo and started laughing. That's when a loud noise was heard. Alicia was slapped by someone and it was a boy. He was tall and not too lean anymore. we looked at each other eye to eye after a long time. Parker saved me and asked if I was ok? I couldn't tolerate seeing him because he was no longer mine. I gave him a no and ran to my bus.
Marcus was absent for a week or so and Parker was stuck in detention cleaning restrooms for his act. He had slapped a girl, of course, thanks to me. I spent my days with Evelynn.
When Marcus made it to school Alicia interrupted our conversation. She gave me a look and asked Marcus out. His reply shocked every single one of us.
