Are you my brother in law?

He definitely can't bring her back to Cavanaugh. He intends to keep her in Poppy because he didn't even know what he would do with her. He likes her of course, interested yes, wants to be with her that's a given. But his status won't allow it. So let her stay in Poppy for now until I can come up with a solution he thought.

He was planning to buy a house the next day to accommodate the Chiu siblings but for now, they'll have to make do with the hotel suite. She looks like a beggar in her uniform so he has to buy them clothes but her brother needs first aid.

"Why are we here?" while he parks in the Executive's Hospital it's the most expensive hospital in the City. It's the only Hospital in the City that annexed the charity ward on a separate facility to make the main hall into a VIP ward. It looks more like a hotel than a hospital. It has a salon, boutiques, coffee shops, a restaurant, and even a spa and a pool. How is that for a hospital?

"To have your brain operated obviously." He answered sarcastically, she didn't fight back since he's their benefactor. She would like to tell him that they never been to a hospital since they were born. She and Ethan didn't even think that a bruise needs to be treated at the hospital, plenty of medicinal amaranth in their front yard, her grandma used to squeeze its juice and apply it on her bruises and wounds.

Her brother was given first aid and was given a pain reliever and they were allowed to go home. He then brought them into a restaurant. She didn't ask anymore because she knew she'll get another sarcastic answer. Gregory ordered the specialty of the house and personally placed the food on Ethan's plate. Ethan caught his sister's eyes then look at Gregory confused at what is happening.

"Are you my brother in law?" He can't take it anymore he had to ask. Chelsea prepared a long explanation for his brother but Gregory already answered quickly.

"What do you think?" He vaguely answered, but to Ethan's innocent mind, he already believed Gregory is now his brother in law, why else would he take them away.

"No Ethan he is Young Mas..." Before she can clarify to his brother that he is their master from now he cut her off.

"You'll have to recover fast, otherwise how can you protect your sister, you will practice military and combat training do you understand?" He put more food on his plate and put water on his glass.

"Yes, brother-in-law." He politely answered and gave him a sweet smile. Gregory is pleased with this kid.

"He is not your bro.." She again tried to clarify but again cut off.

"In the meantime, your first assignment is to stay at home and list all the things you needed, while I and your sister will look for our new home tomorrow." He is commanding like a general to a soldier.

"Sir yes sir!" Ethan jokingly salutes while smiling. He was happy that her sister found a capable man.

As to why Gregory wants Ethan to believe he's "the brother in law" let him take the lead for now and will look for an opportunity to talk to him regarding this, she is mostly concerned about the emotional trauma it will cause to his brother's fragile psychology. Ethan eats his fill and happily talk to his brother-in-law.

"By the way, sister did you know why I was tied by mother and father?" Chelsea doesn't want to talk about it in front of Gregory but she has no choice because her brother believed he was now part of the family besides what else can she hide from this man, he already witnessed the shady part of her life the very first day they've met.

"Sister, I heard our parents talking with the trafficker selling women in Northern clansmen," he said in between munching and gulping his dinner it's as if he was reporting his daily life on a normal basis. The Northern clansmen is a country with strict population control and women are now lacking and they transported women from outside their country. Chelsea felt her remaining strength went off her body. The sliver of hope that her parents love them somehow is now gone, she imagines her heart shattered into fine dust and was blown by the wind as a ceremony to end her connection with the people who gave birth to her.

"So that's what it is." She gave a bitter laugh and didn't dwell into it. She gave her brother a wide smile and touched his head.

"They won't be able to touch us from now on." Because she planned to have her brother and her transfer schools that way their parents won't find them.

Ethan ate everything on the table without inhibition nor reservation. He felt happy despite his current condition. They all went back to the hotel after buying clothes to change.

"Sister, why are you here in my room, shouldn't you be with brother in law?" She was about to make another correction but was destructed by a knock on the door. It was non-other than Gregory. Chelsea let him in but there was again an awkward silence it was Ethan who broke it after nearly five minutes of them standing at the door.

"Brother in law, I know why you're here to take my sister to your room, go on and take her I'm all set and got all I need." His cheery voice rang in the air. Made the situation even more awkward.

"Ethan..." Before she can even start Gregory grabs her hand.

"Yes, I'll take her, and don't forget to rest well just shout outside our door if you need anything okay?"

He brought her out holding her hands.

"Gregory, why are you doing this?" She confronted him. This can't go on, it's not emotionally healthy to his brother, which is emotionally not stable. It's hard for him to trust anyone and to strangers none less.

"To protect him of course, what else, would you like your brother to believe that you were taken in by a stranger, would he trust me? Let's not think of this for the meantime and resolve the most pressing problems you have." That's what she also thinks earlier, but if there is a chance she must set the things clear otherwise it will be a huge disaster.

"It's hard for my brother to trust someone else, he's not emotionally stable, none of us are but he's much fragile than I am. You'll crush him when you leave us."
