Hibernation?

Dr. Neil Fenryi was six feet tall as most dragons shifters are. He had short messy black hair with syrup skin and a slender frame. Apparently he was a master healer and graduated top of his class from two top Medical institutions on LaTerre and here on LaTierra.

He certainly didn't look like old enough to have such an extensive educational background. Aden didn't like how fidgety he was while his mother made the introductions of him and his team. They were eight of then all from different backgrounds and raging in different specialties of healing magic.

Aden cataloged each name and face. Trusting in his mother to have provided the best staff for his needs.

Dr. Fenryi wrung his hands and attempted to smile all the way through, until Aden explained what had happened (the short version) and how Mona, a living breathing woman came to end up in an "egg". He wrapped up by stating that that was why they were there. To figure out what is going on with her.

Given the information, the young doctor seem to transform. He was now all business. He hands swiped behind his back he lost his fidgety smile in flavor of a serious contemplative frown. he listened carefully as his head nurse, an Opsware girl with a high affinity to healing magic took notes on an old fashion paper note pad.

When he finished his tale the room fell silent everyone waiting for Dr. Fenryi's assessment. After a minute or two he clapped his hands and said.

"This seems like a normal case of True mates meeting. Records show that it is nearly impossible for True Mates to not copulate on the first meeting the pull is too strong"

He thought some more and began to pace the room.

"Yes, yes," he paced with his hand on his chin "Everything makes sense right up until after the coupling"

He turned abruptly to Aden "I need more information to make a absolute assessment. May I ask you some questions?"

"Yes"

"How long after the exchange of blood did she take to wake?"

"Approximately an hour and a half"

"When she awoke was there an difference to her?"

"Meaning?"

"Looks... behavior...smell?"

Aden thought about that for a few seconds. Searching through his memory to recapture the moments they spent together after she had come down stairs. There was a difference!

"Her scent" He was thunderstruck wondering how he didn't notice before the other man had mentioned it. " Her scent had changed slightly she smelled more like me but not...I just thought it was because were intimate...did I miss something critical that would have helped to stop this? " Aden asked distressed

Instead of answering Dr. Fenryi just said "Hmmm interesting" then he started pacing once more, obviously to Aden's emotions.

He proceeded with his questions "Do you know if any of her lineage is of Dragon Shifter blood"

"No"

"Hmmm and you said she was a latent?"

"Yes"

What's her full name?"

"Mona Belle?" Aden sighed in frustration everything happened so fast... that's the name she called herself...not sure"

He ran a hand through his hair angered with himself. How could he make sure mistakes. He was normally so meticulous so carefully of who he let's close to him. But with Mona everything was thrown out the window. He became this being driven by emotions. He had been so caught up in her he didn't even get her full name.

While Aden was berating himself Dr. Fenryi powered on. He turned to a bespectacled individual on his team "Davi run a in depth search on her and her family. Use all the data bases that we have access to. "

The other man scurried around Aden to exit the room. Dr. Fenryi turned back to Aden, pushing his own glasses up on his nose. He gave Aden a critical look then said

"You are going to have to relinquish the encasement in order for us to examine it"

Aden heard a growl echo in the room and was shocked it came from him. The thought of anyone coming near his mate made Aden and his dragon hostile.

He was ready to attack the other man and lay waste to him and his team. He felt his mother place a hand on his shoulder.

"Calm son" She used a bit of compulsion magic in her voice "We would never take your bundle from you" taking his attention from Dr. Fenryi she smile serenely "You want to find out what is going on with your mate do you not?"

"Yes" Aden was still looking at the doctor with deadly intent.

"Then come" She gently ushered him into the room. He had not moved since entering. "We will simply place Mona in the medical scanner. " Her voice continued to weave it's calming spell and Aden didn't resist Mona's "egg" was glowing on and off he got a sense that she didn't like him being this highly distressed. Because of that he made the effort to calm down and be rational.

He unwrapped the blankets to reveal Mona's brown crystal like shell. Everyone except his mother and himself gasped. He placed Mona in the hospital grade medical scanner.

The "egg" floated up to the middle as the scanner engaged. A blue light drifted over the encasement. The screen lit up with readings. Dr. Fenryi took command of the scanner tap taping away Aden watched him carefully.

"Hmmm interesting"

"What?" Aden demanded

"It seems like the encasement is made of skin that has hardened like a rock." He tap taped some more "Her vitals are steady Hmmm..."

"May I suggest you start using words if you want to keep your tongue." Aden threatened

"My apologies, this case is very unique I don't want to speak up on something that turns out to be incorrect." He turned to Aden then " I must think on this matter carefully, my team and I will work on this non stop to provide you with the answers that you need."

Aden nodded slightly.

"I would like the encasement to remain in the medical scanner?" He phrased it a questioning way.

Again Aden nodded.

Dr. Fenryi continued after the approval.

"She will he monitored round the clock... San you stay here and monitor her. Notify me of the slightest change. The rest of you come with me."

Before he left he looked Aden directly in the eyes. " I know you are worried but your mate seem to be fine whatever is happening to her is not causing her any distress, pain or suffering. It seems as if she is in a state of hibernation"

"Hibernation?"

"Yes, as if she is asleep but something else is going on I'm not certain what it is just yet. I want to do more research as well, I need to know if they are any records of this in the archives"

"Is your dragon distressed?"

"No"

"Well that would indicate that what is happening to her isn't life threatening. Hmmm, I will be back shortly hopefully with some answers"

He executed a gracefully bow that Aden would have never expected of him and then left the room
