Chapter Thirty

For as long as she could remember, Ametsu was under command of Zero. After the war, where Zero and her were defeated, she decided on two goals, to reach the skies, and to protect her people; regardless of what she thinks they are as individuals, they are her people.

Kyle’s signal was their only hope of getting close to meeting Zero: The King of the Sinners.

“How far are we, Kyle?” she asked.

"That’s a good question," he replied vaguely, squinting at the screen in confusion. "The device is telling me that she's only a few miles west of us geographically, but the direct distance calculator is saying she's much further away."

“I scraped my tooth out for this?” she complained, “Ugh, I hate being limited.”

“The only explanation for the difference is a change in elevation," Kyle explained, "But Wrensdale doesn't have any tall buildings or landmarks.”
