Chapter 6: The Sleepless and The Broken Part 10

... My body…it feels...comfortable.

My eyes open slowly, and a voice calls out to me from my left.

“Geez, you actually fell asleep? You really need to get more sleep Aka.” Their playful tone pulls my head towards them, and from there I see none other than Mia sitting across from me, in some kind of folding chair.

“Oh, sorry,” I say, rubbing my eyes to adjust to the bright sun in my face, “Just anxiety from the big day coming.”

“Ah, that’s fair. Sea sickness and being away from home must be a team attack on your brain.” Mia responds, laughing slightly at my expense. I sit up slightly, stretching after my short nap.

“It’s alright, I’m used to it at this point-” I start to bring my retort against Mia’s joke, but from the corner of my eye, I spot someone watching us from around a corner.

I’ve seen this girl around...her name was Poppy if I recall. Why was she watching us?
