Chapter 9: Remember Your Past, Forget Their Future Part 11

“I think that I might have the one piece of evidence we need to convict our culprit.” I responded, feeling a sudden boost in confidence as the words started to form in my head, and the face of a culprit started to come into view. All we needed was one more push, and I had it.

“Please do tell then.” Liam allowed, sounding a bit worried and excited at the same time, knowing that this long trial would finally be coming to a close.

“A single alibi, given to me at the start of this case, may be the key to solving this mystery,” I built up, flipping through the notebook to the first page, “Akira’s alibi, to be specific.”

“M-mine?” Akira stammered, seeming surprised.

“That’s right. To quote you directly,” I continued, ready to convict this cunning culprit, “‘I saw Mia walkin’ by the bathrooms twice while I was waitin’ in there for twenty minutes.’”

“I...I don’t follow.” Akira admitted, as I nodded in response.
