CHAPTER 12

'I’m convinced.

This is a murder plot.

They were going to kill me.

“DEATH BY OVER FEEDING”.

Yup this is it, this is the end, my stomach is going to explode any minute now and it’ll all be over.'

Those were the only thoughts running through my mind that evening...

After my quick shower and change of clothes earlier in the day Baek took me out to Gangnam for some street side shopping and eating, and since I was 50000 Kwn richer I could indulge myself a bit without feeling guilty.

I bought three tops and two pairs of shorts before something else entirely caught my eye, a black polaroid camera to be exact. I just knew I had to get it. This was the beginning of my new life and I wanted to capture every important moment.

The first ever picture I clicked was a selfie shot of the three of us taken the minute we got back to their apartment. Baek and Grace on either side of me with their hands around my neck in a playful headlock. The picture spoke a thousand words for sure, I was practically glowing in it.

After seeing my days haul Grace practically dragged me to the living area and put a plate in my hands before piling it up with fried rice and ttaetbokki. By this time Baek had taken out the bag full of handmade red-bean paste mochi onto a plate as well.

Now this is where the murder plot began. It was as if their lives depended on feeding me, the second my plate would be half empty it would magically refill itself, the magic here being Grace.

It's not that they weren’t eating themselves, but me? No I wasn’t eating I was being fed, abnormal quantities at that and every time I would object to more food, “Do you not like the taste? Is it bad? I should’ve just ordered right?” Grace would start saying, with her fake sobs acting as gasoline to fire.

The situation was like a fish bone stuck in my throat, neither could I swallow it nor could I get it out, just had to live with it. After my stomach was probably as swollen as an inflated balloon Grace and Baek seemed to be satisfied and finally stopped 'feeding' me.

I was nodding off while watching some movie with them because I was just so full. A feeling of immense peace washed all over me, peace, tranquility, harmony, safety, peace again and

“Yaaahhh Rads don’t sleep now we have to talk, then you eat ice cream with us too. No sleep" Baek was almost screaming at this point to keep me awake.

'There goes my moment of peace and tranquility' I thought.

“Yes, yes I’m awake, what’s that you want to talk?” I asked in a very, very sleepy voice.

“Well now we have to decide about your training and get you new number for talking with us and Grace will take you for more shopping, and we have to go to place and get your stuff now here and…”

“Wait hold up. What do you mean get my stuff here?” I said cutting him off

“Well its obvious isn’t it, you come and stay here with us in the spare bedroom. Look, before you say anything think about it, you don’t know anyone here other than us and why waste your hard earned money when you can be our roommate, the rooms are away from each other too so you don’t worry about disturbing or being disturbed as well!!” Grace said.

“Yeah she’s correct, it will be good for you, trust us please" said Baek agreeing with Grace

What they said was true though. They had been more trustworthy and had treated me better than my very own parents, flesh and blood relationship. And I just couldn't deny this connect I feel with them, it's as if I’ve known them since forever.

They had been nothing but nice and understanding towards me, they had shown more care towards me in these few days I’ve known them than I had ever received in nineteen years of my existence from anyone and I already felt attached to them, already trusted them, already felt protective of them.

I know a lot of people won't believe me, won't trust me but its true.

Sometimes, just sometimes we encounter certain people in our lives who become a part of it instantly.

All it takes is one look, one conversation to know that they're the one. They're the ones who will be with you every step of the way, right by your side forever.

Doesn't matter if anyone says I don't know them enough or not. It didn't matter if people thought I shouldn't have trusted them so soon.

I knew my parents for my whole life up until now and see how that worked out.

What was I thinking for? These beautiful, wonderful people wanted me to be with them and so I’m going to be with them.

I had made my decision.

“Yes. I’m moving in first thing in the morning”

It's crazy how some people just walk in and settle themselves so deep in our life. One day you don't even know their names and then the next day you're willing to do anything and everything for them. For someone on the outside my decisions might seem rash. The fighting, the moving in, the trusting complete strangers in an unknown country but to me these decisions weren't rash, they were life saving.

In that phase of my life these decisions were far better than anything that had to do with me going back to my own country where I would have been treated like every other woman in my family was treated like, unfairly.

So yes it was crazy but I'm proud of that crazy.
