Neon had just ended his classes for the day, he was on his way to meet with Max and Hannah at their usual spot: Kylie's Place, a restaurant downtown where they always hangout. He checked his phone and it was 4pm already, he hastened his step so he would get there on time.
On his way going, sudden Carl emerged from behind a building, Kelvin and Dickson following after, and they stood in his way.
"Well, well, well, Edison." Carl said smiling mischievously. We are alone here, there's no Principal Morgan to save you this time.
Neon realizing that they probably had waited for him after school to get revenge for what happen earlier, they came prepared- Carl was holding a base ball bat
"Look guys am kinda in a hurry so maybe we could do this later," Neon said with a smile, feeling unbothered about the situation he's in currently.
Carl staring at the baseball bat, he had a change in countenance. "Am gonna smack that smile off your face Edison." He turned to Kelvin and Dickson, "Hold him down!" He commanded.
They both rushed towards Neon subduing him and pinning him to the ground, Carl walked towards them lifting up the bat above his head to hit Neon.
"Wait, wait, wait…" Neon said stopping Carl midway. "Can't we talk about this or something, please just give me a chance to say this." He added with a face of pity and remorse, Carl face brighten up seeing him in that state, but no sooner had Neon given Carl the face he badly wanted to see than he added. "Are you sure you can even swing that thing properly."
"Ahhh!" Carl further infuriated raised the bat even higher about to hit a home run on Neon's face.
But Neon had played a dirty trick again, as Carl was at his maximum anger he was going to strike carelessly and Neon seized the opportunity and waited for the perfect moment, just as the bat came down at him, he drew back his right arm which had been earlier held down by Dickson, Dickson unaware, became his shield as the bat went straight at him.
His screams pierced the silent surroundings, the swap happened so sudden, it left the others confused, at that moment Neon broke free from their hold and took to his heels.
"After him!" Carl screamed, but Dickson was still down from the pain, and before they could get themselves back together Neon had already given a good distance between himself and the trio.
Neon ran as fast as he could, he had pulled another on those guys and he might not be able to do another or be so lucky if he get caught again. He ran into an alley and hid behind a trash bin, hoping they'd give up on searching for him. He heard their distant chatter occasionally as they continuously searched for him.
He was there for a while, till it finally seemed safe to exit his hiding place, when he finally came out it was already very late, he decided to just go home, he won't be meeting with the others anymore.
As he walked back home in the dark and lonely roads, something caught in attention in an alley. It was dark but something glowed within and it drew Neon's attention, and he walked towards it in the alley. When he got there, there was a very huge box; it seemed like it would be able to contain 2 persons of his same stature, he looked through the rectangular glass hole that was embedded on the front of the huge box, and found what the glowing light was.
"Wow!" Neon exclaimed as he looked into the box.
At the center of the box was what seemed like a rock but it was glowing. Neon could only wonder how it got there. His curiosity drove him further and he tried to open the box, as he searched for a way to open the box, there seemed to be no buttons or lever to open the box, but suddenly the box opened on its own letting out a hissing sound as smoke poured out filling the area. Neon just stood there staring at the glowing rock.
"It's this way." Neon suddenly heard voices coming from behind, he feared it might be Carl and the others, and without thinking, in a desperate attempt to hid, he entered into the box , and automatically the door of the box closed immediately and it sealed shut.
"Damn it!" Neon exclaimed
