“What happened Ceri? Who did this to you? You have to tell daddy so I can help you.!” 

How was she to tell him that she did not even know who the father was?  

Ceri looked down in defeat and shame. 

Mr Mariba would not let his daughter suffer shame and being outcasted, he would send his daughter away in the meantime to save her. 


 A fictional african Story. 

Will getting pregnant out of wedlock father unknown, outcasted from the community she grew up be the end of her? 

Ceri is determined to prove otherwise. Will she change the mindset that has been there for ages?

African Love

"Are you saying that we can bring one family member on the trip expenses covered?" Dan could not believe what Mr. Murage had just told them at the meeting that morning. 


"That's what he said" Ceri told him for the second time. "So who will you bring?" She smiled as she asked him. 


Dan was single and considered a catch in the company, he would flirt with the ladies but never took their advances seriously, he was not ready to settle and thus would not commit to any one girl. 


"I will surprise you" he winked at Ceri


"Can you bring someone who can watch Metta for me when we are busy?" She smiled at him


"Oooohh...! Can't wait for me and you to get busy." He laughed. 


"You know what I mean, Busy with work!!! Lol, I'm a mother remember!?" Ceri said shaking her head at him. 


"And a gorgeous one too!!" Dan always liked to joke with her.


"I've told you before, just because you are a single mother and people in your village have a backward distorted view of the ideal woman  does not make you less desirable." He said as he patted her shoulder affectionately and walked away.
