"I am back." Wanda entered an office without knocking. Ember Ravenclaw sitting behind the desk did not even pick up her head from her paperwork.
"So, how was Harry?" Wanda turned to an exact copy of Ember in a corner, watching New York nightline while lounging on a recliner. 'Clone constructs, How enviable.'
"He was scared and angry at first but pulled himself together rather soon. For an eleven-year-old, he is rather sensible."
Ember picked up and chugged down an entire glass in one go. Wanda grew alarmed, was she drinking? Ember never drank.
She idly twirled empty glass in her hands, before filling it up and drinking it away in one go. "Was he alright?"
"Yes, he looked much better than before," Wanda answered, a little subdued. From the corner of her eye, she noticed her clone sitting behind desk had vanished.
"Did you hate him?" Wanda's eye widened at her question, as Ember continued, "You knew perfectly well I was at Gringotts, you knew what would happen if Harry came close to me, physically or otherwise. Then why is it Wanda, you dragged my godson, causing him so much pain."
Wanda had a very good reason to do that, "I had to do it Ember, it was necessary. Harry was suddenly thrust into a world he barely has any idea about and came into abilities he barely understands. If I started pointing fingers at Dumbledore without any evidence, he might have started to deny it. After all, he is just an eleven-year-old boy, being confronted with his mortality. Pinning it on someone by a girl he just met, how well it would have gone."
Ember did not say anything, opting to listlessly look out the window. Wanda knew Ember was not angry, for she knew her reasons better even Wanda knows herself. "Pain, it affirmed Harry to the seriousness of the situation, that Dumbledore was out to get him, that words he sees are not his illusion but showed the truth,"
"That you did not abandon him."
Ember jerked a little at that, but Wanda continued without pause, "Harry is protected from magical manipulations, but he is just a kid, he is vulnerable to psychological manipulations. I could have told him no one at Hogwarts is to be trusted, but that would have never been enough. The pain, it made sure he never trusted someone who was willing to curse him with such pain, even subconsciously. After all, you used to say knowing and experiencing are two very different things."
Ember rose from her recliner, looking not even a bit tipsy. Turning to face Wanda, she lightly held her arms, "Sometimes Wanda, means do not justify the end. Always remember that."
A knock on the door interrupted them. A brunette poked her head inside, "Miss Ember, World Security Council is going online in five minutes."
"Thank you, Anne, I will be there soon."
Ember walked out before stopping at door and turning, "Oh and Wanda, as your punishment, I am extending your assignment. You are going to babysit Harry until he leaves for Hogwarts."
"Whatt!!??"

One month later, 4 Privet Drive
Harry woke, feeling better than he ever felt before. Rising up from his bed he stretched a little to get the last bits of sleep out of his eyes. Everything slowly came back, he remembered what day was it, and dread settled in his stomach. Today was the day.
Getting fresh, Harry put on clothes Wanda brought for him. Dursleys remained out of his hair, opting not to acknowledge his presence. He preferred things much better this way.
A red Ferrari drove opposite the number 4 Privet Drive, Wanda honking on the wheels for the entire neighborhood to listen. That unwittingly brought a smile to his face, thinking back when Wanda first meet Dursleys. Needless to say, the meeting did not go well, with Veron shouting at her, calling her Tramp, and whatnot. The argument happened in the streets, for all neighbors to see. Most of the Privet drive sided with Dursleys, for the upstanding citizens they were, and told Wanda to leave.
Wanda came back the next day, in a sleek McLaren that probably cost more than the entire Privet Drive and no one dared to stop her again. Just out of spite, Wanda brought different sports cars every time she came and disturbed the entire neighborhood with her incessant honking.
With no one bothering her, she came almost every day, taking him shopping, for a Drive by the sea, or just to a cafe, teaching him bits of magic, of both wand magic, and other forms of magic. She taught him about the wizarding world, all its glory, and shortcomings, its customs and traditions, and his place in them. She taught him about magic different from his own, one derived from forming pacts with Elder gods, borrowing energy from their dimensions but not before warning him against ever forming a pact without careful deliberation. She told him about cunning Hell Lords that tricked mortals into forming unfair pacts, of all-powerful cosmic entities so powerful that she was afraid to even mention their names off, lest she invokes their wrath. The only one she told about was Pheonix, the all-power entity of Life and Rebirth, the nexus of all psionic forces. When he asked why she would invoke the wrath of Pheonix, she just smiled.

"Coming" Harry dragged a bulky trunk and Hedwig's cage through the sidewalk and to Wanda. All his important belongings were in his Mother's trunk, other trunk just containing bare minimum clothes and some school items.
"Is it not a little too early, it is 9 in the morning, the train will not leave for another two hours," Harry questioned, putting on the seat belts. This is a lesson he learned quickly with Wanda, to put on seat belts as soon as you enter the car.
"I know, but I think you should meet some people before you leave." Without another explanation, she pumped the gas, the red convertible zoomed towards London.
It did not take long for the Duo to teach Kings Cross, meandering through the building, they reached one of the office rooms he had no idea Kings Cross had. Wanda knocked on the door, and it opened, a blond lady poked her head out. Getting a look at Wanda and then Harry, she opened the door, ushering both of them in.
Harry entered, to find the office-sized room filled with few children his age, and their parents. Each child his age had a trunk so he knew everyone here was a Hogwarts student.
"Good, Please come in. We were just about to begin." A black-haired man in a nice business suit addressed the gathering, his eyes briefly flickering towards Wanda.
"My name is Jonathan Smith, and as you may know from before, I am a representative of Mage Tower. I hope all of you have read the books we gave at Diagon alley?"
All parents nodded, looking pensive. Harry did not know what they were talking about but Wanda whispered in her ear, "Mage tower works in both worlds, and is primarily run by muggle-borns. When new muggle-born and their parents are first introduced to the Magical World, the Mage tower tracks them and delivers them books and information bouchers to inform how the magical world actually works and what future muggle-borns have in the magical world." He could guess what they learn was making them anxious, muggle-borns have no future in the magical world.
One person raised his hand, "I am Dan Granger, and I was hoping to know, can't we just pull our Daughter out of Hogwarts?" a bushy-haired girl standing near Dan tugged his hand.
"I am afraid that is no longer possible. A law passed a few years back mandates every magic-user born on British isles to study at Hogwarts. If you decline Hogwarts acceptance, child magic will be bound and all memories of magic erased." Wanda told him about that, Mage tower started sponsoring many muggle-borns to study abroad, it did not sit well with certain Headmaster.
"And believe me, binding a child's magic is very dangerous, no one ever survived the experience to reach adulthood."
It was as if the room was plunged in ice, even Harry was horrified at that, but adults were one step ahead. I a government is willing to kill children, what else would it be willing to do.
"Muggle-borns are treated as second class citizens at best, and as far you all go," Mr. Smith pointed at parents, "In eyes of the government, you as well be sheep."
"I think that is enough Jonathan," Wanda cut him off, turning to address the gathering. Mr. Smith the stage without arguing, "We are not gathering you to tell you how bad is the wizarding world, we are gathered here to protect you from its dangers." Harry raised his eyebrow at that, he had no idea Wanda had any connection to Mage tower.
"The most dangerous thing about Hogwarts, in my opinion, is the divide it would create between your children and the normal world," Harry noted she did not use the word muggle world.
" Every year, your child will spend most of his time in a world you do not understand. You will find your child coming back after months, changed and grown; more and more disconnected from the normal world, and every time it will become difficult to relate with them."
"Wizarding world is far different from the one you live in. By the time your child will graduate, he/she will belong to the wizarding world, not a normal world. No education, barely any basic knowledge; the normal world will be as inhospitable as the wizarding world."
Few parents pulled their child closer, and Harry wondered what Wanda was trying to accomplish. After getting to know her over the past month, he knew Wanda did not do things straightforwardly.
"We are doing everything to protect you from the worst of the wizarding world, at Hogwarts older muggle-born students will protect you, and also teach you up to high school level education so that when your children graduate, they could pursue higher education." Parents looked more and more hopeful as she went on, hanging on to her every word.
"We at mage tower will provide jobs at far more wages and better working conditions than both worlds, as well as legally protect muggle-born and their parents, These rings," The blond women stepped forward, carrying many silver bands in a tray, "Will protect you and your children form mind magic or dangerous portions."
She waited till everyone except Harry had picked one band, "We did all these things, to protect you. Mage tower was established to be a sanctuary for those fearing prosecution and oppression, and we will do everything in our power to carry on our ideals."
"But all our effort would be for nothing without you." Wanda pointed at the parents, her voice taking a deeper pitch "When your child comes back from Hogwarts, give them your time, your love. Be understanding and tolerant, do not let them feel they do not belong to the normal world."
Wanda looked at the children, who looked thoroughly cowed, "Time ahead of you will be difficult, no doubt but never lose hope."
Wanda lowered to her knees, looking at children, "And do not let anyone take that smile off your face."
Harry smiled, as did the rest of the children. The gathering dissolved as Wanda and the rest of Mage tower representatives were questioned by anxious parents while the children gathered together, introducing themselves.
Harry remained on the sidelines, petting Hedwig through the cage. Soon it was time to leave.
"I hope our meeting was informative, and I would like to continue but I fear time is not our side. Hogwarts Express will be leaving in twenty minutes so let's end the gathering here." Mr. Smith said, prompting parents to leave.
Wanda stayed till the end, talking with Smith and other blond women.
"Let's go, Harry"
Soon they were standing in front of the entrance to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
"Harry, here is where we part ways," Wanda said, ruffling his hair. Harry nodded, straightening his untamed hair to once again hide the scar on his forehead.
"This is just the first year, so no one will make overt moves on against you. Focus on learning magic and if you find someone trustworthy, make friends, just be happy and leave the rest to us." Wanda finished, pulling back from him and his trolly.
Harry looked at the barrier to the platform, a dread settled in his stomach. Taking a deep breath, he turned his head, to see Wanda waving at him, encouraging him.
Waving back, he closed his eyes and pushed his trolley straight into the barrier between platform Nine and Ten.
