Setting out in this mist

After the girls had finished eating they began asking Koku a series of questions in which Kurai asked the question, "Are you two mates?", Koku's expression flared with panic and confusion and Yoru's face lit up pinkish with a slight red hue (blushing), "OF COURSE NOT." she bursted out yelling at her sister.

After this there was an eerie silence for quite a few seconds which was then interrupted by a fake cough Koku had conjured, "Lets head out and look for a place to gather some information", Koku told them as he stood up wiping the dirt off his pants. Koku un-summoned the cratrus's which had been guarding them and watched as Yoru helped Kurai stand up off the ground get going.

"Shouldn't we head out of here?", Yoru asked Koku as they had just began walking into the misty forest. Koku remained silent for a several seconds until he began speaking, "Oh, sorry i was lost in thought. There's something i need to find out before we leave Yoru", Koku replied to her question from by this point a minute ago.

"Hey Kurai, can you use magic?", Koku pondered aloud. "Yes, although weak, i'm able to use it", she told Koku confirming his suspicions. "If you don't mind me asking, what type of magic is it that you can use?", Koku further asked as he interested. "I don't mind. The magic i can use it a summoning type, then a poison type." Kurai went onto explain to Koku that her Poison magic was very tricky to use, as she did not know how to even understand it. Then she explained to Koku that her summoning magic is necromancy, but because she wasn't an undead this would make her weaker and less efficient in its use.

That and the fact that it tear apart her mana storage very quickly just summoning one and sustaining a single skeletal summon (Weakest necromancy summon). "She's doing something wrong clearly…I'll just have to wait a little bit before seeing it, since we're in a pretty dangerous place", Koku thought as he smiled and gave her some filler reply.

Koku, Yoru and Kurai all walked aimlessly in the misty forest for what seemed to be days until they found a skeleton rested up aginst a tree, "Looks like someone died here and wasn't found", mentioned Yoru poking the body with a stick. "Sis~you shouldn't do that, it's a little excessive?" Kurai told her with a sweat dropping from her forehead.

"Hmm? there isn't anything wrong with this, right Koku?", she asked not knowing what to tell her sister. "Dunno, i'd say its fine but from others perspective it might be a little…as Kurai said", Koku told her as he was now inspecting the skeletal remains. "This person didn't die from any physical injuries…maybe poison? starvation? or…", Koku stopped looking at the body and looked up at the misty forests treetops.

"It's getting quite warm", Koku muttered under his breath. Kurai heard him and noted that she was starting to get sweaty, the same for Yoru. Hearing this Koku began to think of something, "Kurai, Yoru. Has it been getting warmer for the both of you? since when as well." Both Yoru and Kurai began talking amongst themselves and agreed that it was more or less getting warmer for them since just about 10 minutes ago.

"I barely noticed it…even though i'm more sensitive than normal people to nature and that type of stuff…though Yoru and Kurai are both Demi-humans and they are more primitive when it comes to their bodies and instincts", Koku thought as he examined them from top to bottom, in the process seeing Yoru look at Koku when a blush.

"I-is everything ok~", Yoru muttered softly as she crossed her arms covering her top with the dark robe which she had slightly open letting air through. Kurai smirked and hugged Yoru teasing her a bit, then…Koku understood what had them like this.

"I wasn't looking with any perverted intent!", Koku yelled at the two girls in panic due to the misunderstanding. Yoru figured that was the it was indeed a misunderstanding since Koku really wasn't to into that stuff all to much but just couldn't help feeling like that when he looked at her from top to bottom. Shortly after this Koku had stopped thinking of the reason he didn't feel the heat sooner than the girls and began going elsewhere.

After a few minutes Yoru was able to somewhat recover from her embarrassment and looked over at Koku curiously as they had began walking away from the skeleton. "Is something the matter Koku?", Yoru asked seeing Koku slightly lighter with a shade of pink over his expression.

"YEA-", he exclaimed trying to hide his expression. Hearing that and seeing his face Kurai huddled over to Yoru and and hugged her from behind; after this she started whispering in her ear, "You know…i think he's thinking about you~", Kurai teased Yoru who stopped walking after hearing that.

Koku took a few more steps before noticing the girls had stopped moving, and when he turned around still somewhat confused about these feelings that made him feel light and abnormally warm inside, he looked over at the girls. Seeing Kurai hugging Yoru from behind and whispering in her ear, tagged alongside Yoru's bright pink face, Koku could tell she was saying something that was making Yoru feel a little bashful.

"What are you two doing-", asking this Koku had seen something hidden in the dense misty forest for a slight second; whatever it was also happened to move away quite quickly. In these few seconds Koku's expression went from somewhat bashful to cold and serious. "You two come over here", Koku demanded as Yoru picked up on Koku's seriousness. "Something must be watching us for Koku to get like this…", Yoru muttered to her sister as silently as she could speak.

With Yoru and Kurai slowly walking towards him, Koku made sure to stay as vigilant possible, and as the girls reached a certain point of distance between themselves and Koku, he had seen a black arrow like thing get sent flying at blurring speeds towards the girls.

Seeing this, Koku was able react swiftly and was able to catch the thing, "A black spike…", Koku muttered as he looked in the direction of the attack. He scanned the area for a few seconds until he closed his eyes and started sensing the mana around him, "Damn mist is full of mana…this makes sensing the environment and for any things a pain in the…", Koku opened his eyes and began relying on his visual senses until Kurai spoke up, "Try sensing the change in mists mana, if something moves it's bound to occupy some space pushing the mana particles away creating something like a push", with what Kurai had just suggested, Koku smiled and closed his eyes again. "Not there…or there…and not there-", Koku kept one of his eyes closed and opened the other. "Now i can see them both", Koku stated as he smirked at the incoming flying spike. He threw the spike that was in his hand countering the flying spike and with this Koku, pointed in the direction of the spike and used Void arrow at full speed and power.

Whatever it was had been hit, but not dead. Koku already having an eye closed began to rush towards the thing that had attacked them and being able to see and feel the mana vacuum caused by the quick movements away of the thing he was now hunting, Koku could stay on it's tail. Like this and for this reason Koku used Void arrow again. Again…he hit whatever it was injuring it further. After that Koku closed both of his eyes and gathered his aura and void energy manipulating it to discharge just like lightning "Lightning entrance", Koku muttered as he then flashed passed the thing at light speed, slashing it with a aura sword in the process.

"Now that, that's done, what do we have here?", Koku thought as he knelt over looking at the corpse of what he had just killed. "A Swiftthorn Fiend…so we're in the eastern side of Amagiri, this being here is a problem..we've gotta get out of here before it's odor lures more of these or other kinds of fiends." Koku was quite surprised to be encountering a fiend already since they typically come out at night…though this is Amagiri's mist forest (deep into the forest).

After getting back to the girls Koku told them what it was and they got back on track to finding a village or somewhere to rest properly. While they sped up on their look for a town, city or village Koku had been thinking, "Theres over 300 fiend types, and Amagiri has 5 of them, we've killed the weakest one of them which means we're in the territory of the third strongest Amagiri fiend type.

Bad thing is, all fiend types are smarter than normal monsters and have the ability to adapt quickly, to hunt effectively and has more abilities than i was able to see. Good thing i killed this one before it used any bigger attacks that would've lured any other Swiftthorn Fiend's", Koku told himself in his head as he'd snap back to it when he and the girls came across something 2 hours later.
