New Roommate

Rain was shivering as she sat in the big car while Reid and his roommate took out her soaked cardboard boxes. Reid stood near the trunk, passing the box; the hem of his tee-shirt, along with the lower back was wet from the rain. It was mere drizzles now, so both of them were able to quickly take out all of her belongings.

In between the breaks when his roommate would put the box down, Reid took the opportunity to glance at Rain and see that if she is okay.

Rain put her hand inside one of the jeans pockets and took out half-eaten chocolate.

While her left hand played with the locket around her neck, she took a small bite of the chocolate.

When things are rough, always eats chocolate, her mother had told her one day. While she won't allow Rain to eat a lot of chocolate, it was always her go-to treat whenever Rain was upset.

You should always keep extra chocolate because your friend will always ask you and those who say no to chocolate, are not to be trusted. Rain knew that the latter wasn't always true, but she still kept these memories close to her heart.

"I just thought about a great conversation starter" Reid's roommate was an extrovert like him, and hence have been talking since they have arrived.

Dressed in a hoodie and shorts, the guy was as sleek as Rain, and almost an inch taller than her. Even though the blonde guy was a little slim, his muscle strength could easily be seen by the ease with which he carried the heavy boxes.

"Which is what?" Reid asked, passing the last box to his roommate.

"Always carry a potato covered in silver foil and then ask" he took a dramatic pause and extended his hand as if he was holding it, "have you seen a dragon's egg?"

Rain had already dismounted the car and was now advancing towards Reid who was grinning.

"Ok ok so what's a good conversation ender than?" Reid asked with enthusiasm.

"Look at the zit on my face" Rain mumbled and both Reid and his roommate were in stitches.

"Man, I will remember it next time someone annoys me" his roommate commented, picking up one box.

While Reid and his roommate picked up the boxes without a strain, Rain had to haul each box one by one.

Reid looked back at Rain, retreated his steps, and started walking beside Rain. While holding one box, he put his other hand under the box Rain was carrying.

"That's my roommate, Sebastian," Reid said with a playful smile.

"Urgh. I have told you not to call me that" Reid coughed a bit hiding his chuckle as Sebastian quickly stepped down to introduce himself.

"Just call me Ian, and stay within the side of your room" he picked another box and was already ahead of Rain and Reid.

"My..my side of the room?" Rain looked at Reid, her eyebrows raised.

As she looked up at Reid, he could have sworn that he skipped a heartbeat. He could see the big black eyes hidden behind the glasses, as they refused to blink while peeking into his heart.

She smelled like chocolate and rain. It must be the most intoxicating smell and he knew it would be his favorite from now. Her lips had gone a shade of red, due to the cold and now looked like rose petals. Soft and delicate, if only he could reach out and feel them, with his fingers, and confirm his suspicion that she was an angel in a human body.

Touching her had always felt so normal, but today, he was hesitant, as his strength might break the fragile angel standing in front of him.

And how he had never noticed those curves. The curves, which started from her ankle to calf, from calf to hips to waist to breast to her cute little nose to her raised eyebrows.

*Why were her eyebrows raised? , oh she was asking something*

Reid cleared his throat, swallowing the drool which would have given him away.

The rain had almost stopped and as they gazed at each other, under the cloudy sky, it looked like someone had painted a beautiful scene.

"That's because you would be sharing a room with me," Ian said coming down the stairs again.

Reid remembered what Rain had asked him, a few seconds ago, or were they a few minutes. He didn't know since when he had been looking into those doe shaped eyes.

"Well, Sebastian has to stay for a little longer, as his plans canceled at the last moment. I had already shifted in the single room by then as I was planning to rent the bigger room out." He paused to see how Rain was taking it all in.

"And well he is mostly out, so I thought, it won't be.it won't bother you that much?" Reid hadn't thought things through, as he had picked up Rain in a hurry. He was only hoping that Rain could stay with them for a couple of days, till she finds a new apartment.

There was nowhere else Rain could go right now. Not in short notice. She knew if she could stay there for a little longer, she would be able to save a little money for a studio apartment and since Reid hadn't put any price on the room, it was the best option she had right now.

"I mean...if it's not comfortable, I could move back" Reid had only said a few words when Rain shook her head.

"Is the 12-year-old coming or we have to carry her in a box too" Sebastian chuckled standing on the stairs while Reid was the one who noticed Rain's nostrils flaring. She took a deep breath, kept the box down, turned around, and approached the building.

"Another person on my hit list now" Rain mumbled to herself taking two stairs at a time.
