Rain didn't look back, as she kept running, tears storming from her eyes, heart pounding hard against her chest. She didn't know how long she didn't breathe for. She was scared, scared that they must be still coming for her. Every leap longer than the previous one. She was glad that she had worn one of her long hoodies.

She might have run out of breath, but she didn't stop unless she reached a street filled with people. The shops had opened up and it looked crowded. Falling on her knees, not caring what all was scraped, what all was sore, what all was torn, she held her hair beneath her head and started throwing up.

Her chest hurt as soon as she started, but she kept on going, coughing, crying. Her face covered with tears, her nose dripped along, as the saliva fell from her lips.

Pulling her knees close to her chest, she sat at the corner for several seconds, ignoring all the gaze coming in her direction.
