Chapter 6 - Misunderstandings and Fights

"Big Brother?" Isana's voice shivered.

"Yes. It's your big brother." The evil tone reappeared. "Your lovely big brother."

"What's wrong, Isana?" Rhydian grabbed Isana's free hand and she looked at him with pleading eyes that asked to be saved. Rhydian was taken aback by the fear and shock in her eyes.

"What d-do you w-want?" She stuttered. "Don't be so nervous. Nothing much. I-" Rhydian snatched the phone from Isana.

"-want the man you found." Isana stared in disbelief. She wasn't able to hear what her brother said. "What are you doing?" She whisper-shouted but Rhydian didn't give her an answer and pushed her away. He was shocked himself. Isana's brother wanted him? Why?

"I am the man speaking." He said and Isana stared, puzzled.

"Oh? What nice development this is. Please don't go snatching my sister's phone from her, otherwise..."

"Otherwise?"

"Why don't you ask her about what could happen to you, Rhydian? Or should I call you-"

"STOP!" Rhydian shouted and the phone went silent. Laughter erupted on the other end. "I don't know what's going on but is true you lost your memories?"

"I did not and I think you know why I'm acting like this." Rhydian lied. The man laughed again. "Good. It seems I was right to trust you. But did you go to acting classes, man? Even Jesse was fooled."

'Jesse...' Rhydian thought. He was trying to take in all the information that was being thrown at him. It seemed like he had made a deal with Isana's brother. But what was it about?

"Now, give the phone to my sister. I have things to tell her."

"Yes." He handed the phone over to the still puzzled Isana. He clasped her hand with a reassuring gaze and Isana felt safe.

"What I was saying before is that I have some work for you."

"What work?"

"I can't tell you over the phone."

"I don't want to see your face, big brother."

The man laughed at his sister's arrogance. "Then I'll send one of my guys to you. I think you know him." He cut the call. Isana breathed a sigh of relief.

"What did he say?" Rhydian looked anxious. Isana gave him an are-you-serious glare. "I should be asking you."

"He was just telling me that I shouldn't go snatching your phone, otherwise..."

"Otherwise?"

"He said you'd know what he'd do otherwise." Isana shrugged. "I don't know." But, the flash of fear on her face didn't miss Rhydian's eyes.

"So, why are your brother's men after you?" Isana was surprised. "He told you that?"

"Yeah?"

"It's a long story-"

"I'm all up for long stories."

"-that I don't want to tell you. Yet." She was being serious and Rhydian knew better than to push the subject any further.

Isana sat at her desk and began looking over reports. She didn't want to ask Rhydian why he shouted the word 'stop'. She felt it was something he wanted to figure out himself. And it was. Rhydian had a desk, prepared for himself in the office, and took a seat.

"The seat is pretty comforta-"

"Do not disturb me when I'm doing work." Isana snapped and Rhydian shut himself up. Isana felt guilty. Rhydian hadn't done anything wrong.

"I'm sorry, Rhy-" She looked at his desk, but he wasn't there. He was outside, talking and laughing with some other employees.

She sighed. She should apologize later. During lunch, she called out Rhydian.

"Rhydian?"

"Yeah?" He asked as he was about to leave the office.

"I know this awesome place to have-" She looked shy.

"Rhydian, you coming or not?" An employee asked and Rhydian smiled. "I'm coming. We'll talk later, Isa- I mean, boss." He left the office and Isana slumped back into her chair.

He had every right to be mad at her. She had snapped at him for no reason. Maybe he got along with the others more than with her. Or maybe he wanted to get to know the employees better. Or he just wanted to avoid her.

"Boss?" A person knocked at the door. "Jason! Come in."

"Are you not going for lunch?" He smiled as he placed the files he was carrying on his desk.

"I don't want to eat alone," Isana whined playfully and Jason laughed. "I thought you and Rhydian would be lovey-dovey at the office but to think you aren't even eating lunch together."

Isana gave out a nervous laugh. "He wanted to get to know the employees better."

"Oh. No wonder he seemed so close to them. Especially to the females. Boss, you should be careful. He seems like 'that' kind of guy." Jason whispered after bending close to her.

"Ah." Isana smiled politely, but there was a darkness in her eyes. "Only I get to decide that but thank you for the advice."

'Ahhh.' Jason felt a shiver run through his body. He liked this Isana the most. He smiled back. "Since you are alone, how about lunch with me?"

Other than his occasional bad-mouthing, Jason was a gentleman. He had the personality, the face, and, according to some rumors, the body too. Isana didn't care. She just wanted to have company during lunch.

"Your treat?" Isana asked as they came out of the office together. Jason pouted. "A CEO shouldn't really be saying that."

"I'm joking. It's on me." Isana chuckled. "Yay!" Jason laughed. They went to the restaurant Isana wanted to take Rhydian to and had a fun time.

Meanwhile, Rhydian was deep in thought. He was playing with his food like a kid, wondering if Isana was eating properly or not. He thought it was best to leave her alone after that ordeal. She, obviously, didn't trust him yet.

"So, why did you decide to come, eat with us, instead of the boss?" An employee asked.

"Emily! We shouldn't ask questions like that?" Another employee nudged her and everyone laughed.

"Boss isn't here and it's not like - Ah! By the way," She turned back to Rhydian, raising her eyes in a teasing manner, "how possessive is the boss?"

Rhydian blushed. Not because of the question asked, but because he imagined the question. Isana pulled his tie and he blushed, to which, Isana wore an annoyed look, saying, "You'd better not show this face to anyone else."

'I think, I may be a masochist." Rhydian sighed as he thought to himself, completely forgetting to answer their question. When he looked at everyone, they gave him pitiful looks.

"What?" He was confused. "Oh! No. No. Isa-I mean, boss, isn't possessive." He denied it strongly.

"Whoa! She made him call her boss." Someone laughed. "A complete sadist." Someone teased.

Rhydian didn't like the misunderstanding that was being caused. "No. It's not like that. We haven't even been going out for that long."

"What? You guys haven't been going out for long?" Someone lurched forward to look at Rhydian's face.

'We aren't even going out!' Rhydian screamed in his head. He was trying his best to make sure his face didn't turn red.

"Wha? I didn't know the boss gets so sadistic and possessive off the bat." He laughed.

"What? You interested?" Emily asked teasingly.

"No. I don't like stuff like that."

Rhydian banged his hands on the table as he stood up. "Well," His flustered face turned into a furious one, "I like stuff like that." He said, evilly, and walked out of the shop after grabbing his coat.

When he reached the office, he saw Isana and Jason laughingly enter her office. Jason leaned towards her before she sat on her seat and whispered something in her ears, to which, she giggled, uncontrollably, with laughter.

Jason brushed the hair on her face and tucked it behind her ear. She blushed and he smiled at her. He then left the office and Rhydian made his way to it. He dashed into Jason and Jason laughed. "Sorry, man. I'm so happy to have gotten the chance to have lunch with the boss, I mean Isana, that too, alone." He smirked and began to whistle.

Rhydian stormed into the office, and Isana stared at him in surprise. His brows were furrowed together in worry and he seemed angry at her. He came towards her and slammed her desk, which frightened Isana for a second.

"What are you-" Isana looked at him, annoyingly.

"Who was that, my dear girlfriend?" Rhydian asked sarcastically.

"What do you mean?" Isana was flustered. Rhydian gave her a cruel smile.

"I mean what I asked. You, went to lunch with some man? Alone?"

"You left me and when to Lunch with female employees, who you seemed so close to-" Isana raised her voice.

"I...! I did that to give you some space!" Rhydian argued.

"I did not know that!" Isana poked his chest. Rhydian gave her a pitiful look with a sarcastic remark. "I'm so sorry I didn't tell you when all you could have done to know was ask!" He turned away and left the office.

"Rhydian. Come back here. Or forget getting my help." Isana raged.

"I don't need your help anymore."
