CHAPTER TEN
Once we reached the door, the guard which stood at the entrance opened the door for us. Once it opened Edward strolled in as if he owned the place, which he could probably have done and I follow him not before giving the security man a brief smile.
He smiled back and then closed the door behind us once we had entered the hotel.
The inside was just as nice as the outside, there was a huge hallway with paintings and statues and had a long red carpet leading down it.There was nobody in this area so I assumed that they would be where the faint violin was playing.
"Come." Edward gestured for me to follow him and I quickly complied, hurriedly walking with him while trying hard not to fall in these heels.
Edward turned left at the end of the hallway and the music got louder. Before opening the door he turned to me and looked at me up and down once more as if trying to remember exactly what I was wearing and talking in every detail of me.
"Jen, you are really beautiful," he said with a smile plus a serious look on his face.
"Amm... What?" I asked as I blushed.
"No, nothing come let's go in." he said and once again picked up my arm in his.
But before I knew it, the violin music was blasting through my eardrums and the door was wide open. Edward stepped inside and I quickly followed, not wanting to be left outside alone.
The hall was just as expected, fancy as heck. There were three ginormous chandeliers hanging from the tall ceilings and the room was mostly made out of a sort of beige marble.
There were red velvet draping curtains to block the enormous windows underneath and pillars in the corner of the room. There were tables further towards the back of the room, but mostly there was just room for people to dance, and there tons and tons of people.
Some sort of violin music was playing and it was boring, to say the least yet I wouldn't complain I rarely ever got to listen to violin music anyway.
I followed Edward closely down the marble stairs and starting to felt uneasy when I realized was really watching us enter the room.
"Oh yeah... Edward here I have a small birthday present for you but maybe you don't like it," I said while giving him a watch.
"Are you stupid Jen, Why would I not like a gift and especially from you?" he said while replacing his Rolex watch which he wearing with mine, now he was wearing my cheap watch instead of his branded one. Oh, I'm so touched!
"Ohh... Yes Jen can you just give me 2 minutes so that I can ask him if he's coming or not because he's very important to me and I really wish if you two can meet," he asked and I just nodded without saying anything.
After 2 minutes he came and said, "He will be here in 15 minutes."
"But who is he which you want me to meet so impatiently?" I asked curiously.
"He's...," he was about to tell me but someone interrupted him took him away with him.
After 20 minutes he came to where I was waiting for him and says, "Jen come, he's already here, follow me" and I followed him. I was curious that who could it be.
"Meet my older brother in fact only 2 years older than me, William Vernanda and William she's Jennifer, my special friend," as he said William turned his face towards us and I got in a big really big shock.
"What, he's your brother? But your surnames...," oh God! save me please someone wakes me up and told me that it's all just a dream please someone saves me from this freaking moment.
"Yeah... We both have different family names, I got mine from my mother's family and he got from our father's side," Edward explained, why they both have different family names.
"Why miss Jennifer, do you have any problem that we are brothers?" William asked while smirking.
"Huh! Oh no-no, why do I have any problem with that Mr.William you misunderstood me," I said in my clarification.
"So... She's your date for tonight, little brother?" William asked Edward. Oh please Edward doesn't say yes, I was literally praying.
"Yeah, you can say that," Edward said while giving me a smile which I also returned in an awkward way.
"Ohh! I see," was the only words that William says in return.
"Umm... Edward I'm thirsty so I'm going and have some water till then you two brothers talk," I said to Edward and he nodded.
Once I had reached the bottom of the staircase I noticed that there was a certain table at the back of the room with a few girls gathered around it.
I squinted to get a better look and noticed a blonde-haired girl facing me. Elena! I realized. She was my friend in high school. What a small world, I thought.
I began to walk towards the table where Elena was sat and as I got closer she finally noticed me. A grin escaped her lips as she saw me. "Jennifer!" she exclaimed in happiness.
"Hey, it's nice to see you but what are you doing here?" I asked smiling at her.
"Just helping, because my father has some business with Edward's father. What about you, why are you here," she questioned me.
"I'm Edward's friend so he invited me, that's why...," I answered her.
"Oh," Elena said nodding her head in acceptance. "It's so nice to see you here," she said resting her hand on my shoulder.
I flinched back ever so slightly not so much that she would notice, but I did. I didn't want to be rude but I hadn't known her very long. "You too." I gave her a closed-mouth smile.
"So..." she began as she stood in front of me, "You are brought by Edward?"
"Uh, yeah I guess." I shrugged at her.
"Do you want to get a drink?" Elena asked, breaking the short silence between us. "Sure, yeah okay." I nodded looking around as we began to walk towards the bar.
As we approached the bar, I noticed a pair of eyes watching me.
WILLIAM.
Why he's watching me? I thought. After reaching we stood opposite to bar and after ten seconds the barman noticed us.
