CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

THIRD PERSON'S POV,

Now it was only William and Liam in the room except Jen. And he was in no mood to talk about the past again. That was the only thing, he hates most of all also it has nothing to do with Jen.

"Liam I'm in no mood to wait any longer. Just tell me already how to cure her fever or leave her be. She will not die of fever after all." He was tired but more he wasn't feeling well because of her memory that started to rush in his mind.

"I know what to do William but I don't think you would like what I'm going to say," Liam told him.

"Just speak," he said in annoyance.

"She needs body heat William and I don't think that you don't know what it is. It's the only way to cure her body temperature back up and stable her condition and if not that then you also know about the second option. Okay, so I'm leaving you to think about what to do but please be sure of not making any decision on which you'll regret later."

Wait, what? William was glaring at his friend. Heat? Does she need body heat? But really body heat? After what she did to my old friend now she wanted me to give her my damn body heat.

So at all costs, he won't do it.

Liam can see William in deep thoughts to find other ways. He breathes out a heavy sigh.

"Please call me if you feel like it's not working," Liam said before leaving.

He picked up his bag make his way to the door but stopped in midway, "I trust you, I know you are not like what you wanted to become. Tell her about your past and ash her about hers. Maybe it is not like what it seems it is. Trust her just one time William just one time, she's not like what you think she is."

Liam patted William's shoulder and walked out of the room.

William stood there on the same spot staring at the wall for the past 10 minutes.

Never had he thought that there's a day that came when he would be reminded of his biggest mistake from the past and why everyone thought that this girl is innocent?

No, she's not, okay. She's not.

With that thought, he turned and left the door. He won't lay next to someone like her ever in this lifetime.

He made his way back to his room grab his phone and dialed the one person who he thought might have a kind of help at a time like this. Also to reduce his misery that he's was feeling right now.

"Yoo boy already missing me? Looking to have some fun?" his best friend's voice came from the other end but the joke wasn't fun for William at this time.

"Hey buddy, where are you?" his feelings were clear in his tone so immediately Roman stop making any more jokes again.

"Hye, William what happened? Are you alright? I mean is everything alright? Do you want to go out to have some fresh air? We can go to my penthouse and talk there. Do you want me to pitch you up?" concern was all in his voice.

"I can't Roman until she wakes up," he said with a sigh.

"What? Who? Until who wakes up?"

"Her Roman, her. The girl I married, she almost died or I think she would. I don't know man! She catches a cold and now everyone thinks that it was me who planned this from the start."

William told his friend half of what happened but Roman didn't say anything in return. It was like he wasn't even on the call.

"Roman, are you listing? You there?" William checked on his friend. Was he even listening to me?

"How's she now?" was the only words he said after a long pause. He was more concerned about the girl who he just met but not about his best friend.

William snapped at Roman.

"So, you are also going to take her side at blaming me for what happened today, right? I don't get it, why all of you, all of you taking her side but not mine?"

"I'm not taking anyone's side William in fact I'm not just worried about her but for you too. You know the consequences of it, right? If anyone, anyone in the media gets to know about it you know what will they all do."

"William she's a girl after all. Treat her nice no girl can resist sweet charm for too long. Do whatever to make her condition suitable. I hope you get what I Want to say."

William thought about what his friend wanted to say.

He cut the call and went towards the bar area. Picked up a bottle of whisky and started to drink it.

"Why are you still here? Still not satisfied? I see! Want to claw on the past more or you are to laugh at it? Tell me does it feel good to know my darkest secret? Do you feel you have a hold on me?" he tried to look calm but in fact, he was heartbroken when talking about it.

"I never meant to hurt you that was just the slipped off my tongue." Edward tried to explain but it was hard to do that as the other party was William.

"Slipped?" He wanted to laugh at that statement.

He laughed a full-blown sarcastic laugh at his statement.

Edward stood silently on his spot without saying anything.

William drank all the bottle of whisky in his hand, after finishing it he smashed it on the floor and starts walking towards the stairs.

But stopped when Edward said those words.
