Now that Heath was gone, everything was quiet, the wind eased off and the sky cleared up, it was much bluer and calming. Everything was still damp from the thunderstorm. The trees seemed brighter and alive now. Across the floor from where Jacklyn stood was Heath's body, Lifeless and bleeding out. Jacklyn walked over to his body and rummages through his pockets to retrieve Scarlett's once tore out fang. Jacklyn pulled Heath's coat off him and slung it on her own body and did it up. She proceeded to jog back over to where Scarlett lay and threw herself to her knees.
"Scarlett, wake up, wake up," Jacklyn exclaimed shaking her.
Scarlett lay there on the floor, wounds pouring with blood and body moving as Jacklyn shook her. Scarlett remained unconscious and lifeless.
"Scarlett, wake up, please. You can't be dead, you can't die on me," Jacklyn screamed.
Jacklyn carefully picked up Scarlett in a cradled way and took her someplace safe, away from there. She knew it was the best thing to do so, she took Scarlett back home. Where she could aid her wounds and help her out. The atmosphere was uneasy the entire journey home, the pain of carrying Scarlett hit her arms like a pin to the foot. She stepped one foot onto the doorstep and the door flew open. To Jacklyn's surprise, Ash was home.
"Ash? I thought you were at the hospital? Why are you home?" Jacklyn questioned.
"Well, they aided my wounds, as you see. So, they let me go home." Ash replied.
"What happened to Scarlett? Is she dead? or unconscious?" Ash asked.
"Just unconscious, here take her. I'm going back to get Heath." Jacklyn said, handing Ash Scarlett's body.
"Jacklyn-" Ash said before Jacklyn took off down the pathway.
"I'll explain later," Jacklyn yelled back to Ash.
Ash took Scarlett inside and placed her down gently onto the couch. He pulled out a medical table and set it up with the supplies he needed. It had; cotton balls and pads, thread, needles, rubbing alcohol, bandages, medical tape, soap, tweezers and a bunch of tools. Ash knelt to his knees and aided Scarlett. He picked up a cotton pad and applied soap to it before, slowly going around her face, cleaning the blood up, to reveal bruises, cuts and her black eye. He picked up a cotton ball, doused it in alcohol before, slowly patting Scarlett's wounds, he didn't need to apply stitches as they would heal up on their own. Ash slowly made his way down her body, cleaning up where he had too and stitching deep sunken wounds.
Suddenly, the door slammed closed and Jacklyn walked into the living room with Heath's body. She threw his body to the ground then grunted in agony
"He's heavy," She said out of breath.
"Jacklyn! What on earth? Why did you bring him here? Is he dead?" Ash exclaimed,
"Chill, He's dead. Scarlett killed him." Jacklyn calmed,
"Well, That's good, at least. Now, come here, I need help with Scarlett's back," Ash said, directing Jacklyn over.
Jacklyn walked over to Ash and helped out. Ash placed Scarlett leaning against Jacklyn, face first, so he could get to her back. He began once again, cleaning her up and stitching her up, followed by, him bandaging her up too.
"How bad is it?" Jacklyn asked concerned.
"Bad. I've never seen wounds this deep before, I mean, Before, her wounds were bad. This? I have no idea if she will recover." Ash explained.
Ash took Scarlett from Jacklyn and placed her down on the couch before, turning his attention to Jacklyn.
"So, What happened?" He asked.
"well, after I took you to the hospital, I went back to help Scarlett. There was this massive fight going on, I've never seen Scarlett that mad before. Did you know Heath was a demon? I didn't." Jacklyn explained, followed by a question.
"No, I had no clue. That explains a lot of his rage," Ash nodded to himself.
"Yeah, so, He bit off her ear, the top part. There was a lot of slashing, throwing, punching. Man, they both love trees and rocks. I think I only just managed to escape with the wounds I have. Its nothing too big, they'll heal on their own, if I'm careful." Jacklyn explained.
"I was wondering what happened to her ear. That's gonna scar badly, I don't think she could ever get the top bit done again. At least, your okay and not dead." Ash smiled.
"Also, this," Jacklyn added.
She threw a tiny little object at Ash. It was Scarlett's fang, so tiny, it looked like a fly buzzing through the air.
"What's this?" Ash questioned
"Well, you are not going to like this, That is Scarlett's fang," Jacklyn said.
"What? That's what? Scarlett's fang? How?" Ash rushed.
"Heath did it. He pulled her fang out, her tongue piercing and her ear piercings, one by one, before biting her ear." Jacklyn explained.
Ash walked over into the kitchen, clutching Scarlett's fang. He pulled out the same box the day Scarlett left and plopped it in and signed to himself. Jacklyn walked over and placed a reassuring hand on Ash's shoulder.
"She will recover Ash, Don't worry. You know she will," Jacklyn added
Ash signed and nodded. They spent another hour finishing up the story of the fight between Scarlett and Heath.
"See, I brought Heath here because he deserves a proper send-off, Like a funeral. He's my father and I have to respect that. He may have been a horrible person, but that doesn't mean even when he's dead, we have to treat him like he never existed, I won't let it. Scarlett will probably want him to have one, just so she can spit on his grave." Jacklyn said pointing at Heath's body.
"I understand what you are saying Jacklyn, but look at us all. You cant stand there and say you want him to have an amazing funeral because he deserves it? He almost killed you." Ash exclaimed.
"I know, But he's my dad. I can't stand here and just let his corpse rot away. I'm giving him a funeral whether you turn up for it or not." Jacklyn said determinedly.
Ash shook his head and looked over at Scarlett with loving eyes, with a hint of worry.
"Fine, Because he is your dad. I will respect your wishes." Ash said.
Ash picked up Scarlett and took her upstairs away from the room. He gently placed her on a spare bed in their bedroom. He brushed a finger slowly down her face and through her hair, before kissing her on the forehead and returning downstairs again.
"Also, here. It's Scarlett's sword, It could use some fixing. Honestly, it took some good blows, it delt some good blows. I couldn't retrieve Heath's, because Scarlett sliced it in half so, instead, I took his coat. Nice fit, if I do say so myself," Jacklyn smiled.
Ash took Scarlett's sword out of JAcklyn's hands and placed it on the side.
"About Scarlett, I think when she wakes, we will have to feed her blood. But she can't drink it directly from the source as shes missing a fang for now. How about, we use a cup and straw? Maybe that could work?" Ash said questioning himself.
"Yeah, Works for me. She will need it when she wakes up. Better to try, than not at all." Jacklyn added.
"Well, you better find somewhere for that body to go, because it ain't staying in my house. It will stink it out. Go find somewhere else to put it." Ash demanded.
"I know, I got it," Jacklyn said, picking up Heath.
Jacklyn left with Heath's body and returned about an hour later empty-handed.
"Good, Where did you put it?" Ash said, examining Jacklyn up and down.
"I can't tell you. If I did, I would have to kill you." Jacklyn laughed.
"Dark and edgy. Seems you're okay. Let me see your wounds, maybe I can help." Ash said.
Jacklyn walked over to Ash and took off her coat. She revealed her battle wounds and Ash aided her. He wrapped her wounds up in bandages and Jacklyn placed her coat back on.
"Thanks" Jacklyn thanked
"No worries, I'm an expert in med," Ash laughed
Ash cleaned up the supplies and threw them away before looking back at Scarlett's sword.
"Do you think you can fix it?" Jacklyn questioned, running a finger down the blade.
"Yeah, Should be easy enough. I just hope Scarlett fixes up too" Ash said.
Ash leaned in close to the blade, examining it. He could see where the chipping was of the clashing all the time and he could see the crack that was beginning to form
"She's lucky this didn't snap in half. By rights, it should have." Ash said, pointing to the cut right down the blade.
"Oh yeah, I can see it. God Ash, you're so good at your jobs. No wonder Scarlett loves you so much. Oh god, I think I just made myself sick." Jacklyn laughed.
