Old friendships never die.

"Oh my gosh, Is that you James?" Scarlett asked confused.

"It's prince James. We grew up together as kids. I must say, you've changed a lot since I saw you. Whatever happened to you? one day you were here, then gone." James replied.

"I ran away. I didn't like castle life anymore, and a lot of things changed personally with me. I knew my parents would disown me sooner than later so I left. Same to you though, look at you? You look so royal." Scarlett blushed.

James was 36 years old and about 5'11" tall. His skin was almost as pale as Scarlett's. He had long chocolate brown hair, his hair had slight waves to it and his roots were darker than the ends of his hair, one side was pushed over to give his hair more volume while the other side just lay flat down. James had hazelnut coloured eyes with perfect tight lined eyes, it was done so well it looked natural, just like his perfectly trimmed eyebrows. James wore a red and black tartan blazer, the collar and pockets were black, He wore this undone. Under his blazer, he wore a plain red waistcoat with a black suit shirt and black silk tie. He had matching trousers in the colour of red, and the material was the same as the silk tie. He wore plain black posh shoes. Around his wrist was real gold and diamond watch, kind of looked like a Rolex but much more expensive. He wore his family dragon crested ring around his index finger on his right hand and some gold rings on the other hand. James had one ear pierced with a diamond stud in and he had a septum piercing which he flipped up for royal duties. He probably had some tattoos hiding somewhere, but none that Scarlett could see. Placed on the back of his head was his crown. It was gold with square-shaped rubies placed all around the top of it and the rest of the crown was covered with little diamonds.

"I see you finally decided to get that septum piercing you always kept going on about. It looks good on you, I bet you get into trouble with that being apart from royalty. You look good, I like the suit, crown matches it." Scarlett smiled.

"I could say the same to you. How manty piercings is that? 30? It's nice to see you back here again. Say, what does bring you back here?" James asked.

"Well, We wanted our place back. I bumped into Scarlett at a funeral. She had been out for days apparently to her friends from a fight? Then magically woke up and could walk with her wounds. Anyways, her friends took off to support their families during this time. Scarlett and I came here to get the castle back that I abandoned ages ago. We just had to fight weird mermaid-like creatures outside then I gave Scarlett a tour of the house." Cadence explained.

"Yeah, what she said. It was a huge fight with me, Ash and Jacklyn. Plus Jacklyn's stepfather who was a hunter killed my dad, so I killed him with Jacklyn's help. Then, before that I killed Manson who was another hunter while, Ash killed Tate, his best friend. A lot of killing, fighting and wounds." Scarlett explained.

"That sounds fun? Are you okay now though? That seems very traumatizing. I'm sorry about King Ogron, he was a good man." James apologized.

Scarlett shot James a quick smile and nodded.

"I'm used to it. I mean, They do hunt vampires and im-" Scarlet said before being cut off.

"A vampire. Yeah, I know. You're also a legendary hunter." James cut off.

"How did you know?" Cadence exclaimed.

"I have kind of like a sixth sense. I can just sense who a person really is under their skin and makeup and all that. Like if they're a hunter or vampire, I can sense it. I'm just gifted I guess. I just feel who they are and know what they're hiding, I guess you could say I know everyone's secrets. So yeah, I know you're a vampire Scarlett, don't worry. You don't need to explain." James said.

"Cadence, the kitchen staff should be arriving soon. Do you want to give them the menu for lunch? While I take Scarlett out to see the gardens?" James asked, handing Cadence the lunch menu.

"Of course, You guys have fun. Love birds." Cadence winked.

Cadence took the menu and headed off towards the kitchen to prepare lunch with the staff. James held his hand out for Scarlett, who gently placed her hand on his and they proceeded to the gardens. James opened the door for Scarlett, who walked outside and stared at the garden in awe. The grass was bright green and smelt freshly cut. The blossom on the trees was blooming and occasional petal falling. Sunflowers grew tall along the side of the fencing, lavenders and lilacs lined the pond area which had a huge water fountain next to it. When you walked up to the pond, you could see the koi fish inside swimming happily. Monarch butterflies flew past and birds were singing their songs. The air was filled with pollen and the scent of fresh-cut grass and sweetness. Red roses grew along the side of the castle and along the far end of the garden grew berry bushes.

"This is beautiful. The flowers, the scents, the fish, the pond. Everything is beautiful and amazing. I forgot how amazing this all was." Scarlett exclaimed.

James gazed at Scarlett with loving eyes as she took in all the amazing scents of the flowers. He felt his heart skip a beat and took a lot of Scarlett's hand and covered her eyes with the other.

"Come with me. I got a surprise for you." James whispered.

Scarlett smiled and slowly followed trying not to trip up. James stopped and Scarlett bumped into the back of him. She removed his hand from her eyes, to reveal what looked like to be weeping willow trees. The trees were bright green with their vines touching the ground. The trees surrounded a path and lead to a dark cave-like entrance.

"Is this? The secret place we once found?" Scarlett said

"Yes, it is. The place we grew up together and kept a secret from everyone and grew plants in there." James said.

Scarlett took ahold of James's hand and ran into the vines of the willow trees and through the dark entrance. They came through the other side of the entrance to what looked like one of those gardens from a fairytale book. Green grass, white roses growing on bushes on the sides. At the very far end stood a black wooden patio with a little step to get onto it. On the patio, was white iron chairs and a table with a white silk cloth over the top. Mushrooms grew under the trees in the dampened, dark areas. Little lantern-shaped fairy lights hung from one tree to another. Swallowtail butterflies flew from the flowers on the grass to the roses at the side. Glasswinged butterfly ornaments were carefully placed in between the rose bushes with little fairy ornaments. On the far right-hand side was a little homemade pond with nothing in it. The water was crystal blue and seaweed-like plants were placed inside with little pebbles in the water.

"This place looks like I did yesterday. Everything is the same. I forgot how beautiful it is, isn't it James?" Scarlett asked.

"It is, Princess Scarlett. You know, Princess Scarlett has a nice ring to it. I must admit, when we were younger you were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I mean, you still are, You just dazzle me with your radiating beauty." James smiled.

"Thank you, but-" Scarlett said, before feeling something placed on her head.

He placed a sapphire decorated silver tiara on her head and looked directly into her eyes.

"This garden reminds me of your beauty. When you left the palace I use to come here every day to think of you. I missed you so much, princess. I'm glad your back home." James smiled.

He pulled a necklace out of his pocket and gently placed it around Scarlett's neck. It was a little blue butterfly. The wings on the butterfly were blue diamonds and the necklace chain its self was silver. The antennas on the butterfly were diamonds and when you flipped the necklace over it said "S+J Friends forever" engraved.

"Oh, this is so beautiful James. Thank you. I don't like wearing my tiara it makes me feel uncomfortable. The necklace is beautiful though. Thank you." Scarlett thanked.

James took a hold of Scarlett's hand and gently kissed it before pulling Scarlett close. He put his hands on her waist. Scarlett blushed a little but was in shock, so she didn't think to pull away. James lent in close to her and gently placed his lips on her lips. Scarlett pulled away from him a little

"James-" Scarlett blushed.
