Farewell

Kayleigh's POV

It didn't take long before Beth and Patricia found out about the little lie that Jay and I pulled, even they were on Jay's side on this matter. I felt bad for Eddie as no one was on his side, Sam claimed that I was dying to be with Eddie but I haven't accepted that fact! I was rotting in my own misery whether I should tell Eddie the truth, somewhere deep down I felt like he was in love with me too. The weekend is already here and I don't feel like going out so I decided to stay home and get drunk till I fall asleep. I pulled out a bottle of wine, put on the movie 'The Proposal" and drank from the bottle, the movie ended after two hours and I was scrolling through Netflix to figure out which romantic movie to watch next when I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door to find a sloshed Eddie standing on my door with his jacket hanging on his shoulder, "Edward, What are you doing here?" he walked in and shut the door behind him, holding my face with one hand, "So are we now on the first name basis?" I yanked his hand back and walked to the couch to pick the wine bottle up and drank the last couple of sip left, "That is not the point, why did you come here?" He dropped his jacket on the couch and wrapped his arms around me pulling me closer to him, so close that I could smell his signature perfume and alcohol in his breath, "I came here to see how my best friend's girl friend is doing!" I tried to push him back but my frame is too small compared to him, "I am doing good, now that you know you that, you may leave!" He grabbed my face tightly gritting his teeth, "Does he satisfy you like I do? Can he make you feel like I do?" I tried to speak "You-ARE-HURTING-ME" He loosened his grip on my face and kissed me roughly, "So do you Kayleigh, so do you!!!" he pushed me hard, making me fall on the couch, "You make me miserable Kayleigh, ever since you came in my life you have only complicated things for me." I stared at him in shock and fear; suddenly I was sober enough to see him so drunk. He continued to rant as I watched him in horror, "Because of you I can't enjoy fucking around, I can't focus on anything from over a year! I can't meet a single woman again because they don't feel like you and I hate you for that!" He pulled me up to face him, "Do me a favour Kayleigh Jane Stevens, get out of my life. I don't want to see your sorry face ever again!" tears streamed from my eyes blurring my vision when he continued, "You think life is cupcakes and rainbows, you will find a man who loves you, marries you and you will live happily ever but I promise you Kayleigh that will never happen to you because you are just a whore!" He walked out saying those harsh words as he shattered my life.

I spent next few hours packing my stuff, I already spoke to my landlord letting him know I am vacating the house by afternoon. In the morning I got multiple calls from Jay, Beth and Patricia but I didn't answer any, I don't know why but I feel like they are responsible for the words he said to me last night and I also know that he was hanging out with them last night. I left my all my things at a storage space and dropped a text to Sam and Daniel informing them that I am going to LA for few days and that no one should know about it. Sam immediately came over to meet me and I was lucky she didn't ask me much questions. I got back after two days, when I came back I moved in with Sam in a three bedroom apartment, changed my number and tried to forget everything that happened in the past. Sam saw me ignoring Beth and Jay's calls, I was glad she didn't push me to talk about it. As for Eddie he never tried to get in touch with me, after him lashing out at me that night I am not sure if I ever want to see that monster again!

Third Person's pov

Edward has always been miserable but ever since he has met Kayleigh things have gotten more complicated for him. He has never really shown affection to anyone and he has had a hard time understanding that so being with her made him want to do all kind of despicable things. He has been living in a constant denial that he has feelings for her, he gets drunk every night just so he can forget Kayleigh and focus on his work. He picks up women from clubs so that he can get over her but instead his heart tries to find her in them. When his sober self finally found her, his jealousy got the best of him and he lost the best woman of his life! He has been raised to take over his father's multi-billion dollar company and the last thing he is taught about is his emotions and feelings. According to his rivals, employees and media he is the most cold and ruthless businessman ever known after Patrick Raines (his father). The next morning when he woke up, he regretted the conversation he had with Kayleigh but the deed is done and there's no way he can take it back now. He drove to his parents' house where they held a Sunday brunch with their close family and friends, Jay saw him there and he pulled him to a corner "What the fuck did you do to Kayleigh? she is not answering our calls!" He didn't make eye contact with him, "Maybe she would be whoring around, that's why must not be taking your calls." Jay punched Edward in the face and two of them fought each other but Jay clearly looked like the wining party, he sat on of Edward holding his hands "Are you mad? that woman is in love with you and all you are doing is using her and abusing her! For god's sake, I am not dating her! We only pulled that lie so that you stop messing around with her heart. She is not a toy Eddie, she has feelings for you! Even a dumb person can clearly see that!" He was shocked when he learned the truth, he drove to her house only to find the house empty and the landlord informed him that she has left the town to go home. Frustrated Eddie got back to his mansion and drank until he could forget her and leave her memory behind.
