Breakdown

Eddie's pov

It was my first time taking a girl home and I was nervous as hell but I couldn't show it to her. The lunch was so better once Luke left us alone, I swear if it wouldn't have been for Kay I would have killed him today. I took her home so my parents can know her and approve her but I wasn't planning to tell my parents yet that I wish to marry her because I first want to woo her and propose her to marry me. After lunch mom took her to show her around the house while I sat down with Dad by the fire place, I hope mom doesn't question her too much. Dad offered me scotch and I agreed as I could gladly use it. He passed me a glass holding another one for himself, we clinked our glasses and took a sip while dad looked at me with concern on his face, "Son, Since you are old enough, it's time I tell you about me and your mom." I raised an eyebrow, is there something I don't know but I didn't bother to ask instead took a sip and looked at him, "When I first met your mom, I felt something that I never felt before and I tried to fight my feelings but it all went in vain knowing such a wonderful woman she is! Anyways all I am trying to say is son, don't make the same mistakes. Make your own, accept your feelings and fight for what is yours!" I nodded understanding the exact things he was trying to tell me, "you are right dad, I will try my best to tell her how I feel!" He gave me a genuine smile, "and yes don't forget to show her that too." Stella, our housekeeper arrived holding Haley while dad set aside his glass and took Haley in his arms and started talking to her. Dad was so happy meeting Haley and my princess got along so well with everyone. I agree that she has got my looks but her aura is just like her mother, both mother and daughter can get along with anyone. I smiled looking at the trio of a happy grandparents-granddaughter when Kay and Emily joined us laughing and talking, she already won everyone's heart in my family. I faked a jealousy look when she looked my way because I can't show her that I approve of it or else she will know that one day I wish to marry her, keeping her and my kid all to myself. They won't stop mingling, it was already evening and I had a surprise for Kay, I had to literally drag her out of the house. When Kay found out I made reservations at Rudy's, the expression on her face was priceless. She enjoyed every bite of her Frisbee burger and I couldn't have been more happier. We didn't speak throughout the dinner but the silence wasn't killing us In-fact it was pleasing. The moment we got out of Rudy's there was a storm of paparazzi surrounding us, shit this can't go wrong. I tried to get them inside the car as soon as possible but Kay heard their questions and she zoned out. I drove home as fast as I could and decided to approach her once we were home. I stopped the car outside home and looked at Kay only to find all the colours were drained from her face, she didn't even notice that Haley was crying. I tapped her shoulder, she looked at me as if she has seen some ghost and ran off inside the house. I got down from the car and took Haley to her nursery, bathe her, dressed her and tucked her in bed and grabbed the baby monitor remote and started looking for her in the house. I first checked in my room and bathroom but she wasn't there, after looking around the entire house I found her sitting on the floor of my closet with her legs folded, her chin resting on her knees and tears flowing down her cheeks. I rushed towards her, sat beside her and wrapped my arms around her. I rubbed circles on her back while she cried, she hugged me back and sobbed harder, "I am with you Kay, don't worry about anything." I rubbed circles on her back until she stopped sobbing and pulled back wiping her tears. We both sat there for few minutes in silence, "Do you wanna talk about what happened today?" she shook her head and, got up and went off to bed shutting her eyes close. I followed her and pulled the covers up until her shoulders and left the room. I went in the library and dialled Jay's number, he answered on third ring

Jay: hey man, what's up?

Eddie: A lot has happened today and I don't know what to do!

Jay: Are Kay and Haley okay? Tell me everything

Eddie: Yes, they are fine. Mom invited us for lunch and Luke insulted her but dad kicked him out before he could speak more nonsense and then I took her to Rudy's and I don't know how but reporters came there and started asking rubbish questions after that Kay zoned out and after we reached home, she cried for half an hour but refused to talk about it and went to sleep, I don't know what to do man.

Jay: how can this happen? Did anyone knew you were going to Rudy's?

Eddie: No, I had personally called Rudy to reserve the diner so we can get privacy and you how much he hates paparazzis so there is no chance he would have informed!

Jay: Relax, try not to confront her about it. I am coming back tomorrow and we will feel figure out what happened!

Eddie: Yeah, Our face will be plastered on every tablet by morning! try coming back as soon as possible. I am worried for her.

I disconnected the call once Jay confirmed he is coming tomorrow and made my way towards bedroom. I opened the door to see Kay asleep, her face worn out and still red from all the crying. I am really worried about what scared her off. It's not easy to freak her out, something must be really bothering her! It pains me to see her like this, I have never seen her breakdown like this before and I will never let it happen ever again.
