Chapter 25

The drive home was full of excitement and joy. Michael had finally been reunited with his family, or his sister and father at least. The atmosphere was euphoric.

The four hundred mile trip home was extremely fast and drama free. No magical abilities had to be used. No one felt fear or anxiety. It was a purely joyous drive.

Upon arriving home, John entered the house first, "Honey, Aaron, can you guys come downstairs please?"

The two rushed down the stairs to greet their father, eager to learn of the mission and the status of the success or failure of it.

John began to cry, "Guys, it was more than a mission. Everyone is okay but it was way more than a simple directive from a talking parrot."

Terry hugged John as Aaron peeked out of the front door, "Is that…is that Mikey?"

Pushing her husband away way too hard, the excitement had taken over at the sound of their lost son's name, "Mikey? Mikey!"

Terry and Aaron sprinted passed John and ran outside. Tears of joy snaked down their faces as screams of relief exited their bodies.

Michael didn't know what he had coming. He was football tackled by both his mother and brother. It looked extremely painful but the love it brought was far more powerful than the pain it delivered.

The family was back together.

Sherlock and Helena were still canoodling each other. Feathers were flying and chirps of pure love rang out through the open air.

Sasha hugged Detective Garrett and kissed her on the cheek, "You are the reason this was possible and successful. Our family is whole again. Thank you."

The hug seemed to last forever. Sasha's powers melted into Detective Garrett unknowingly, "Oh man, I feel great! I feel like I've never felt before!"

Sasha looked down at her jean pocket and realized what had happened, "Don't worry. Unfortunately, that feeling will fade and you will return to normal. It was the stone's energy entering your body."

Detective Garrett laughed in realization, "Oh, well, it was good while it lasted. Remember, call me if you need anything. I'll be close by Sasha."

Sasha smiled and cried at the same time, "I will. I have a bad feeling this is only the beginning."

Detective Garrett nodded in agreement, "Same here. See you later kiddo."

This was not the end of the journey. This was merely the start. That's for an entirely different book.

Be kind to each other. Kindness and caring can carry the human race into an entirely different atmosphere.
