Severus Snape ✔ New Professor

Back when I still attend Hogwarts, everyone finds me odd. Not because I am weird or anything. It's just because I find Severus Snape, really interesting. He's anti-social and that made him a target for bullying. I was too engrossed with the fact that he's intriguing and it was too late when I realize I was already falling for him. It was a nasty shock for the Marauders, of course. James and Sirius, almost fainted when they found out that I was in love with the boy they kept bullying.

I don't get what surprises them. Severus is a really good guy. Brilliant and talented. He's a thin man with sallow skin, a large, hooked nose, and uneven teeth. He has shoulder-length, greasy black hair, which frames his face, and cold, black eyes. He wore black flowing robes which give him the appearance of an overgrown bat. I've always kept my eyes glued on him, that I can even read his personality that no one seems to care about. He's cold, calculating, precise, sarcastic, and bitter. The bullying that James and Sirius inflicted on him, ended up making his loneliness further shut himself in and I almost hate them for that. The thing that made me worried more about Severus, are his insecurities and vulnerability. I'm not saying that I don't have such things like that, everyone has.

The only thing is, because of those flaws, I watched how he craved membership of something big and powerful, something impressive. He was so blinded by his attraction to the dark side he thought Lily Evans, the girl he loves, would find him impressive if he became a real Death Eater. When in fact, he doesn't need all of that to get a girl to notice him. I've been watching him all this time. Unfortunately, I wasn't the one he wants to see him as a man. Thank Merlin though, for that he didn't end up walking the dark path.

I don't want to, but I eventually end up ignoring the screams of my heart and mind to confess to him, because in the end, I know it will always be Lily Evans in his heart.

I was wrong...

I remember it clearly. The first time he approaches me and spoke to me.

"Can I have a word with you?"

I turn around to find out who asked that. To say that I was surprised was not even a match to what I felt, after seeing who it was. I can feel my heart pounding inside my chest, creating massive beats that pumps my blood with so much adrenaline.

"A-Are you talking to me?" I even pointed myself to make sure.

He didn't answer my question, he only nodded his head before quickly turning around. Did I just saw a tinge of pink on his cheeks?

Shrugging at Sirius and James, who are both glaring at the back of Severus' head, I followed after him. We only stopped when we reach an empty room where he pulls me inside.

"What's wrong?"

"Is it true?"

I look at him curiously, trying to figure out what he was talking about.

"Care to enlighten me of what are we talking about here?"

"I... I..." I bit my lower lip to suppress a grin from emerging on my lips, as I watch in amusement when Severus tries not to look at my eyes.

"Severus..." I momentarily frown, when I saw how his body stiffened at the mere mention of his name. "Did something happened?" I finally asked, getting worried as time passed by.

This time, he let out a sigh and finally lifts his head to look at me. I was taken aback for a moment after seeing the sudden emotion flooding his eyes. I'm used to seeing nothing on them, but chilling coldness. This time, all I see are warmth, sincerity, and... was that admiration?

"Lily told me everything." I suddenly felt my palms sweating. What did just Lily tell him?

"Told you what?"

Severus took a step forward hesitantly, but his eyes mirror the same nervous and scared look in mine.

"You love me..."

His voice was small, but it was audible. I heard it. I heard how he told me the one thing I've never told anyone aside from myself. Not even Lily, who I think, had figured it out herself.

"W-What?"

At the end of my word, Severus took another step, this time, confidently. I wanted to back away, ashame that he finally knows the secret I've been keeping for years, but my feet are rooted on the ground. I was stupidly frozen on my spot.

"Lily thought that I was going to ask her out, when in fact I was going to ask her about you and told me everything."

I let out a deep intake of air when Severus touch my hand for a moment as he leans closer to me.

"W-What are you saying?"

"Do you think I didn't notice all of your stares and looks?" Severus gave me a bemused grin after catching me grazing my lower lip between my teeth.

"Severus..."

"I do like, Lily. But pushing myself on the person who doesn't like me will never get me forward."

Biting the insides of my cheek, I close my eyes for a moment to gather my courage, before crossing my arms across my chest and staring intently at him. My sudden change of demeanor seems to surprise him for a moment, because his facade of courage, which was a rare one for a Slytherin student, slip off. His intense stares soften and the hesitation was back.

"Why don't we get straight to the point, Severus? What do you want?"

He stares at me for a moment, sending an amusing look in my direction, before lifting his hand to scratch the back of his head.

"Can I ask you out on a date?"

That one question eventually lead Severus and me to marriage after we graduated. We're so in love and no one expected that. But we made it through. Of course, we were both in sorrow after hearing what happened to our friends after a few more years.

James and Lily were killed by Voldemort, leaving their only son, Harry Potter, alone. That hurt Severus so much, because, well, Lily was once the love of his life. I was too because James and Lily were my best friends. After that, we also found out that Sirius was thrown into Azkaban for a sin he never committed. He was accused of selling out James and Lily to Voldemort.

It took Severus and me, a whole year to get settled and smooth our emotions out, after everything that happened. But because of that everything, Severus became even more protective.

He got admitted to Hogwarts as a Potion Master, and I was left alone at the house we bought, even though I wanted to work too. I push him with all my might to let me work and that build an argument between us for days, until he finally let me applied for the work I wanted. Fortunately, Severus can't get mad at me because he loves me more than anything. And I love him too.

I didn't tell him anything about my work, and it would be a really big surprise for him.

I stare in awe at the towering stone castle in front of me. It's been eleven years since the last time I saw Hogwarts, but it still felt like nothing change. Magic is still vibrating through every fiber of my body as I made my way to the Great Hall. I'm sure the Sorting ceremony had finished, and it will be most likely the time for Headmaster Dumbledore to introduce me as the new professor for the Defense Against the Dark Arts.

"Tonight, I would like to introduce everyone to our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Professor Snape."

A wide grin curled into my lips as I take a peek inside the hall. I can hear a lot of hushes voices and whispers at the announcement. They thought that it was Severus, the Headmaster was talking about, but the confused look on Severus' face, confuse the students even more.

Finally getting enough of the amusement show, I make my way inside the Great Hall. All the noises instantly died down as I make my way towards the High table, all eyes glued at my figure. Especially, Severus wide ones.

I shake Professor Dumbledore's hand, before looking around the hall and giving a small bow of my head. Thunderous applause started as I sat on the vacant chair, just right beside Severus. His eyes were so wide I even compared him to the owls at night, but it was the best reaction I've ever got out of him, aside from those times where he ends up looking like an overripe tomato after I kiss him.

I wink at him and look in front of me once again. We didn't get to talk after that, because I made sure to run away from him the moment the feast ended. I don't want to ruin my fascination with a pissed off and blushing Severus Snape, screaming at me for not telling him anything.

I was planning to talk to him the next morning, but I got busy with the schedule. I only got free time around three in the afternoon, but not because it's my free time, doesn't mean I am free.

The moment my class ended, a lot of them follow me into my office, which was only on the upper stairs of their room. Not wanting to get my office crammed up with gossiping teenagers, I reluctantly allowed them to ask me questions if they're going to settle down on the empty chairs.

"Fine. You guys have five minutes, after this, you all need to go. Understand?"

They nodded their heads vigorously and it made me smile. It was a fascinating view. None of the students leave the classroom after our class ended. The third-year Gryffindors and Slytherins, remain sitting on their chairs like what I told them to do and gape at me.

"How old are you, Professor Snape?" It was Seamus Finnigan who asked me first, and I laughed at how everyone glare at him.

"I'm 28 years old."

"Do you love your job, Professor Snape?" This time, it was Neville Longbottom.

"Of course, I do. I wouldn't be here If I don't, right?" They all nodded. Even the Slytherins are all reluctantly listening.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" I was a bit surprised when everyone hummed in anticipation and almost lean out of their seats as they waited for my answer.

Chuckling at their reaction, I scratch the back of my head and beam at them.

"I thought that, upon hearing my surname, everyone will figure it out."

Their foreheads creased in an instant. Even the bright Hermione Granger, looks like she's having a hard time figuring me out.

"What do you mean, Professor Snape? What's with your surname?" I walk towards Harry and softly ruffle his hair. Feeling a tinge of pain as I recognize his huge resemblance with James and the color of his eyes that he got from Lily.

"Snape wasn't my surname. Well, it is now, but it only became my surname after I married its real owner."

"And that real owner is pissed off now for a certain reason."

All our heads turned to where the voice came from, revealing a brooding Severus Snape. He glares at all the students as he makes his way towards me. I only grin at him when he stopped in front of me and glared at me. Finding it funny how ridiculous he looks, as he tries to make his eyes look mad, even though I know that all he wants to do now, is kiss me.

"Marry the real owner? Professor Snape is your husband?!"

Surprise gasps filled the air when Harry blurted out that question. I playfully rolled my eyes when Severus turned to him and glare intensely at the innocent boy.

"Yes, Mr. Potter. We got the rings to prove that and even the marriage certificate. Any problem with it?"

Shaking my head, I softly patted Severus' shoulder, and walk past him.

"Okay. Five minutes are done. Go use your free time to do your homework or meet with your friends. Come on."

A smile was plastered on my lips as I watch all of them hurried out of the room, saying goodbyes behind them. I waited for the last student to leave, before facing Severus with a stern look.

"What?" He exclaimed, frowning at me. Not expecting the look I was giving him when it should be him that scolding me at the moment.

"What was that, Severus Snape?" I asked, placing my hands on my hips.

"What did I do?"

"You're being mean at the students."

"Well, they were soloing you."

"What?" I laugh at how hilarious he sounds.

I shake my head and slowly caress the side of his face. His gaze softens as he leans on my touch. He grabs my wrist and pulls me tight into his body. Brushing his lips and blowing air into the sensitive skin of my ear. I let out a satisfied hum and wrap my arms around his torso.

"Don't tell me you're jealous of them?" I teased, earning a squinting eye from him.

I lean in with him and smile when his lips crush on mine in a quick heated manner. He softly nips at them, before playfully tugging at my lower lip.

He was grinning widely when we both pull away from the kiss.

"Would you mind telling me now, what is the meaning of you teaching here in Hogwarts?"

I fake a thinking manner and grin widely at him. I pull him in another kiss, before playfully stroking the sensitive skin on his chest. I can feel the vibration of his chest in my palm, against his robe, as he let out a satisfied hum.

"Because I've been missing you badly, lately?" Severus squints his eyes on me once again, before letting out a smile.

"I've missed you too."

Cupping my face, his lips softly brush against mine once more. This time, longer than the first, along with a few playful flicks of tongues and sucking.

"I love you, Sev." He grins at the nickname.

"I love you too."
