Sirius Black | Soulmates

My mom used to tell me a story when I was a child. A story where people find their Soulmates through colors. Mom said that it was possible because magic before was still pure. That it wasn't corrupted like it is right now.

She told me that when two people touch and see the same colors, they are each other's Soulmates. Each other's half. Someone that will always be part of their life no matter how long time passes by. No matter how strongly they refuse to believe so, they will be drawn together by the string of fate.

I believed her...

You see, I used to dream that someday, I will find my other one. That I will find the right person for me. The person who will love me unconditionally. My other half. My Soulmate.

That dream crumbles when my Dad left us for another woman. I used to believe that Mom and Dad were each other's half. Soulmates. But when Dad left and completely disappeared from our lives, that belief became nothing and I forgot that fairytale.

"Did something happen between you and Sirius?" Forehead creasing, I lift my head from writing on my parchment to look at Sirius, who quickly looks away when I met his eyes.

"Not that I know of. Why you asked?" he look at Sirius, and I did the same thing.

Sirius, currently sitting at the table, has his back against us now. James is showing him something on a parchment, which he grabbed. He stares at it intently before laughing. James probably drew something hilarious like he always does when they don't know what to do with their spare time.

"Well, he kept staring at you," Remus stated, looking back at me and leaving the other boys to their world.

"What's new with that? I mean, Sirius has been doing that for years." Lily pat Remus on the back before sitting beside him, which is across from me. "And Y/N knows that. She's been doing it for years too, after all."

I squint my eyes at her, warning her using my stare, before shrugging when she looks at me. Believing that there's nothing important regarding Sirius' stares. After all, he does the same thing to others. It wasn't just me... Even though I hope it was only for me.

"What's going on here?" James barge in, sliding on his seat towards Lily, to which the latter responds with a roll of her eyes, even though a smile is plastered on her lips.

"Nothing too important." Lily looked at me across the table, then gave me a wink, which I just laugh at.

I turn to my left and met Sirius' eyes once again. This time, no one look away. We both smiled at each other as if something was going on that only two of us understand.

I wish that was the case... Because I can't imagine how Sirius will react once he finds out I've been bearing feelings for him for the last three years.

"Mr. Black, do I need to remind you of the real purpose of a table?" All our heads turn to the newly arrived Professor McGonagall. Her usual stern look was plastered on her face once again. This time, it's for Sirius instead of James.

"Sorry, Professor. I was distracted by something beautiful, I didn't notice what I was doing." Professor McGonagall glanced in my direction all of a sudden, earning a silent reaction from me as she look back at Sirius.

"Well, too much admiration can lose a man's sanity. Be careful not to overdose." Mouth gaping, I watch Professor McGonagall strut her way to her chair at the High Table, glancing at me once again when she finally settled down.

With cheeks feeling hot all of a sudden, I bit my lower lip. Shaking my head to stop myself from assuming Sirius was referring to me when he said 'beautiful'. I'm not saying I am not beautiful, but I just don't want to assume things and come out feeling stupid after it.

"I-I need to go. I forgot I have something to finish. I'll see you guys later!" I exclaimed, grabbing all my things on the table, and rushing out of my seat as I tried to hide the stain of red on my cheeks.

Unfortunately, my foot got stuck on the foot of the chair as I try to practically run away. I gasp when I felt my weight dragging me down. My balance seems non-existent at the moment.

Tightly closing my eyes, I wait for a painful impact, but nothing came. Instead, I found myself clutching Sirius' hand after he grab me, and saved me from falling face-first into the floor.

"Whoah! Are you okay?" I let out a relieved sigh, almost laughing when I realized just how my heart is beating fast. It's practically thumping inside my chest.

"Yes. I'm fine. Thank you for" My mouth hangs open as I stare at Sirius. Words were cut off the moment I noticed I was seeing something around him.

His body is coated with what looks like a body-shape fog. Illuminating a bright blue color which seems to get brighter every time he moves an inch.

"Y/N?" Instead of answering him, I reach out a hand to touch the fog, but my hand went through it. It didn't do anything the moment I had contact with it.

"Y/N? What are you doing" Lily asked, getting off of her seat just to stand by my side. She pats my back, looking confused and worried like the others.

"You guys don't see this?" I asked, pointing a finger at the fog still coating Sirius' body.

"See what? Are you seeing something we can't?" James tease, shutting up the moment he noticed Lily's glare.

"Y/N? Are you sure you're okay?" I look at Lily for a moment, smiling reassuringly to ease her worry, but the moment I look back at Sirius, the fog was gone.

I even rub my eyes. Blinking a couple of times, trying to see the fog once again, but it was gone. Sirius helps me to stand properly, while Lily picks up the things I drop on the floor.

"I'm fine," I stated, trying to ease the sudden tense situation. "My eyes were just playing on me for a moment, making me see a fog of color, but I'm okay. I swear."

Sirius looked at me confused for a moment, and in an instant I swear I saw a glint of recognition in his eyes. But it was so fast that I shrugged it off. "I think you need to stop staying up so late every time. You need proper sleep." I force a smile, biting my lower lip as I grab my things from Lily.

"Yeah. I think I'll rest back in my room before the next class." They all nodded at me. Sirius's stare lingers as I turn my back on them.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get to any of my classes after lunch. Turns out, Narcissa tried to wake me up, but I wasn't budging at all. It was already dark when I woke up. The feast ended while I was sleeping, and now I'm hungry.

Two figures meet me as I make my way down the common room. Avery and Mulciber, sitting on the couch. Probably planning something evil again.

I shake my head at the thought. Reminding myself that Mulciber is my twin brother.

"Where are you going at this time? You might get caught." Avery started when he noticed I was heading to the door. I turn around to look at both of them, sitting with their legs crossed on the couch.

"Since when have you ever cared about such things? Besides, this is not the first time that I'm sneaking out, you know?" Avery looks at Mulciber before shrugging.

Mulciber then stands up, taking off his scarf and wrapping them carefully around my neck. He then proceeds at ruffling my hair, which earned him a scowl from me.

"Mom will be scolding me if she finds out you get sick. It's not like I can tell her you've been sneaking out on a cold night wearing your sleep garments." I roll my eyes, wanting to remind him how I'm three minutes older than him.

"Well, you could always refrain from telling her anything, you know?" he shakes his head before heading back to the couch.

"Just make sure to not get caught." I nodded, before rushing out.

Not needing any light at all, I easily navigated my way through corridors and hallways without getting spotted. After all, I've been sneaking at night for years now every time I get hungry or just want some chilly night air.

As I was about to reach the stairs down to the kitchen, someone grab me from behind. I tried to scream but whoever it was, covered my mouth, before pinning me to a wall in the dark corner. My breath was caught in my throat when the moonlight shine across the face of my captor, only to be met with striking grey eyes. He winks at me, before looking at something from behind. I followed his gaze and my eyes widen when I saw Filch standing in the hallway, staring at the space. Exactly where I was standing seconds ago.

We waited for Filch to leave before he let go of me. Our eyes met before bursting into quiet laughter.

"You saved me there." I started, smiling at Sirius who remain staring at me.

"I was expecting for you to pop out anytime," he replied, grabbing my arm and leading me away from where I should be.

"Wait... I'm hungry. Let me grab some-"

"I know, Y/N. I already grab you a lot." he cut off, leading down the stairs to the ground floor, and the clock courtyard.

I could see a basket placed in the antique fountain surrounded by eagle statues. I look at Sirius, confused, but all he did was take off his robe and wrap it around me. Before pulling me towards the fountain.

He took a seat behind the basket, tapping his right side and motioning me to sit. I can't help the smile from slipping out as I take a seat beside him. He handed me a plate of chicken and ham sandwiches. Followed by a plate of sausages and bacon.

"How did you persuade the house elves to cook this lot?" I asked, gaping at the amount of food he brought.

"Well, I helped them clean a few things inside the kitchen, and they did this." he points at the basket, smiling proudly.

"Thank you so much, Sirius!" I exclaimed, grabbing a sandwich and biting into it.

Sirius chuckled as he watches me eat, before handing me a glass of orange juice after I ate a few more. I had a couple of sandwiches for him, sharing the juice he gave me. There was barely anything left when we finished. I let out a sigh of relief, finally feeling full. Sirius laughs as he watches me.

I froze when I felt his hand on my head, ruffling my hair playfully. Our eyes met, but he look away first, putting back the plates and glass in the basket and closing it.

"So, how do you feel?" He asked, looking at me once again as I look up into the starry night sky.

"Doing fine. I was just tired I guess." I felt him move closer to my side until our shoulders touched. I can't help but stare at him with wide eyes as I felt his hand intertwine with mine.

"Do you have any idea what you're doing to me, Y/N?" I frown in confusion, trying to calm my heartbeat ramming against my ribs.

"What do you mean?" I ask, silently wishing that my hands aren't sweating against his.

"Do you wanna know what I see when I look at you?" Sirius asked, meeting my gaze with a sincere smile.

"What?" If he gets any closer, I swear he'll hear how hard my heart is beating.

"Color, Y/N. I see a color. I've been seeing it for years now. At first, I thought I was going crazy, but no. It only happens when I look at you. It started that night I saw you get sorted into Slytherin. That's when it all started."

I pulled my hand from his hold, abruptly standing with wide eyes staring at him. Words trying to slip my lips, but nothing's coming out. Did he just say color? No. That's impossible. It wasn't real.

"Color? You're seeing color?" I asked in disbelief. There's no way he's telling the truth.

"Blue to be exact."

Tears started forming at the edges of my eyes, as my heart began pounding against my chest. I don't know what to feel. My emotions are everywhere. Surprised, doubtful, scared, and more emotions I can't even voice.

"That's impossible!" Sirius frowned after I raised my voice. I don't know if he's mad, but his stares are digging holes into my skull.

"You don't believe me, do you?" he asked, his voice soft, barely understandable.

"How do you expect me to?"

"You will."

Before I can react or move away, his hands found their way to my face, pulling me into a sudden kiss.

It was so sudden I felt my lips throb from the clash. A shiver run down my spine when I felt Sirius' warm hand finding its way into the back of my neck and his other around my waist, as he pulls me closer to his body.

I can practically feel the heat of his body by how pressed I am against him. We were both a panting mess when he pull away. I thought he was done, but he started prepping kisses on my forehead, my nose, and back to my lips once again.

My hands are tightly clutching the side of his shirt. My chest is heaving as I kiss him back. Gasping for air, I pressed my face to his neck. Trying to regain my breath as Sirius peppered the side of my face with small kisses. I clutch tightly to his shirt when I felt his warm breath against my ear.

"I love you..." he softly murmured against my ears, making my knees weak.

He let out a small chuckle when I lost strength on my knees, ending with the whole weight of my body leaning on him. He hold me tightly against him, wiping the tears off my cheeks with his thumb, which I wasn't even aware of.

"Don't cry. You're making me feel nervous. I feel like you're crying 'cause you're about to reject me."

Shaking my head fast, I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him for a short kiss.

"Quite the opposite," I muttered with a smile, wiping my tears away this time.

Sirius looks at me with the widest smile I have ever seen him make. He softly caress my face, and as his hand touch the skin of my face, I started seeing it again.

The bright blue color.

I wasn't wrong. I saw the right thing.

"I'm seeing it too, Sirius." Sirius gave me a confused look for a moment before his eyes widens. As if he just realized something.

"Are you seeing the color?!"

"Yes. Blue. It's so pretty."

Sirius chuckles, a goofy grin still plastered on his face.

"Does that mean-"

"Yes, Sirius." I cut off to him, shaking my head with a big smile on my lips. "I love you too!"

"Yes!" he screamed, forgetting the fact that if someone caught us, we'll be screwed up.

But that doesn't matter at all. That fact is nothing and was pushed behind the back of our heads.

It was all real. Just like the story Mom always told me. This time, I know it will work, and won't turn out the way it did with my parents.

And I knew I was right when I see Sirius' smile as he look at me.
