The cup winner

---------- POV Dumbledore ----------

We are reunited with Severus, Minerva, Filius and Pomona in my office.

"But Albus, what happened to you giving out 400 points. For a hundred the students would have grumbled a little but would have forgot, but 400!" ended up saying Minerva, breaking the silence that had settled in my office.

"It was obvious that such generosity to the Gryffindors was going to make some people unhappy. Seeing my house go from first to last in this stupid ranking is not to please me Albus." Severus continued.

"I hear you, but I really wanted to give the boy the Cup of Four Houses to thank him for standing up for the stone and making his first year at Hogwarts something special"

"So, it was good to flatter Mr. Potter's vanity, as I expected"

"I'm not happy with it either, Albus. My students also worked very hard and all of them have minimum EE grade while Mr. Potter struggles to get an A and barely passed thanks to his last-minute efforts." said Filius, who had not yet expressed his displeasure.

"Alright, I understand what you are telling me but what can I do about it, I already gave their points to Gryffindor."

"Points are given as quickly as they are taken from." Severus answers me, pragmatic.

"I quite agree with Severus. You have to take points away from Gryffindor to make things fair or it will be the last competition of the four houses we have." If even Minerva is in favor of taking points from her house.

"Well then, we can go back to the students to let them know our decisions," I said with a sigh.

---------- POV Sean ----------

It's been a good hour now since Dumbledore and our teachers left the room for a debate. When the door to the great hall reopened, our teachers took their seats as the headmaster spoke.

"In light of some objection from my colleagues and the dissatisfaction of the student body, it seems that I was too eager to reward some students. This is why instead of the 100 points I gave to Ravenclaw; I'm only giving 50 points. And I'm giving Gryffindor 150 points instead of the previous 420. However, I'm also taking 50 points from Sean Bones for staging a revolt in the Great Hall, "Dumbledore said solemnly.

"In last place with 341 points we have Hufflepuff. In third place with 373 points, we have Gryffindor. Second place goes to Ravenclaw with 464 points and our great champions for the seventh consecutive year is Slytherin with 584 points. Congratulations to Slytherin. "

Cries of joy are heard from our table, unlike Gryffindor whose joy was only short-lived. Nobody blames me for losing 50 points because after all I saved our winning streak. The meal was very lively, and many people came to congratulate us on our victory.

Even Snape decided that a quiet little applause was in order following the Headmaster's humiliation and the removal of the cup from Gryffindor.

"Mr Bones know that I will quietly return the lost points to you next year. Try to give me more opportunity to return them to you than to take them away" Snape whispered to me so that only the members of my table could hear.

Two weeks later, we were back at King's Cross station where my parents were expecting us but without my aunt who had had an emergency at the ministry. I had made the return trip with Daphne, Hermione, Blaise and Edward, Draco accompanied us at the start of the trip before joining Crabb and Goyle to speak with Marcus. They made me promise to write to them to give them news, especially on my project.

As soon as we get home, I ask my father to buy me several kilos of lead to test the Philosopher's Stone.

"But why do you need so much lead?"

"I would like to try a spell that melts metals to change their shape." I lied so as not to arouse his suspicions.

Impressed by my desire to improve myself, he went to get them for me the very next day.

Since it did not come with a manual, it took me almost two weeks to get the stone to work. The key was the direction of the flow of magic that I inject into the stone, if it goes clockwise then it is the elixir of life which is created otherwise it is the lead which is changed into gold.

I transmute about twenty 1 kg ingot but in my haste, I forgot a detail. ingots in Muggle banks are stamped with the bank's stamp. Either I find an ingot and copy the stamp to the others, or I have to go see a forger.

While I'm in full reflection, the door to my room opens to my astonished mother, who finds me in front of a small pile of gold.

"SEAN NATHANOS BARTOLOMUE BONES! ARE THESE GOLD BARS IN FRONT OF YOU ?!"

"And shit ..."
