// THIS IS AN OLD CHAPTER. THE NEW CHAPTERS ARE IN VOLUME 2. YOU CAN READ THESE CHAPTERS IF YOU WANT SOME INSIGHT ON WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN LATER BUT SOME EVENTS CAN BE DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW CHAPTERS.
Stryga's groceries are finished in twenty minutes in the local supermarket. The cashier knows the habits of my grandmother who has become a regular over the years. Everyone in Mystic Falls knew the incredibly beautiful old lady in town and her little quirks. Saturday at 11 a.m. precisely is when Stryga goes shopping, and it was always the same shopping list.
"Do you want to buy some candy?"
I take a packet of sour chewing-gum that stains the tongue blue and put it on the counter.
"Thanks, grandma." Politeness above all.
As I leave the store, Stryga makes me carry all the shopping bags. Fortunately, she is doing her shopping fairly regularly otherwise my poor back would have suffered.
We go up the street towards the house when I hear footsteps running in our direction.
"Sean!" I can feel someone give me a hug from behind, too bad the said person is not older because the hug would have been much nicer.
"Hi, Caroline." I turn to see that Elena and Bonnie are with her. Bonnie must have told them I was there.
"I'm so so so happy that you're back, you'll see, there's a lot that has changed since you left"
"Hi girls, you have changed so much I almost didn't recognize you." I take this opportunity to greet Bonnie and Elena otherwise Caroline will talk so much that I will not be able to say something.
"In good I hope?" Bonnie has always been the most confident of the three.
"Maybe yes, maybe no."
"Naughty! Are you back for good then?" What does the sheriff feed her for her to have so much energy?
"Only for the holidays, after I have to go back to my school in England."
"What, but that's too unfair. You barely come back, and you tell us you have to leave already."
"It's okay, it's not like I'm telling you I'm leaving in 10 minutes, we'll see each other for two months."
Elena hasn't said anything yet, she's half hiding behind Bonnie
"Are you alright Elena?" When I ask her the question, she blushes and hides even more.
"Sean stops tormenting these ladies and comes to help me bring back the groceries. If we waste more time the ice cream will be melted before we can put it in the freezer."
"Yes, grandma. See you later girls."
"When I told you, you were a magnet for a young girl."
When I get home, I help her fill her shelves with food, before going back to my room to install my new computer and the basic programs I need.
Now that I have a computer, I have to finish writing the course books for the new course I imagined before the end of the holidays if possible.
The biggest difficulty when writing something that aims to teach someone something is finding the right words and the right order of learning things so that the level increases steadily but without increasing too much at once.
The funniest thing about Hogwarts classes is that apart from the botany and magizoology class which is really pretty decent compared to the world average, the rest are clearly inferior to all the other schools. One would have expected better from a school that sells itself for being the best in the world.
The hours go by without my seeing the time gone by and when I come out of my literary frenzy, night has already fallen on Mystic Falls. The only thing I can do at this hour is go to bed.
When I think of the amount of work done today, I wonder why I am doing all this? I could very well have been content to be an ordinary wizard. Well, an ordinary and rich wizard, you would have to be an idiot not to take advantage of knowledge about the future to afford a comfortable life.
I believe that all these projects and studies since I reincarnated are starting to weigh on my mind. I haven't taken a real vacation since I was born in Mystic Falls.
Hmm, yes, it's decided. Tomorrow I find myself a real hobby, I have to relax.
After one of the most restorative sleeps I've had in a very long time, I wake up smelling the delicious smell of pancake.
When I go down the stairs, I can see my mother in front of the stove with my grandmother. No house elves here in Mystic Falls. Seeing burned marks on some pancakes, I notice that my mother has lost touch with cooking.
"Hello everyone" I sit down at the table waiting for my mom and grandmother to finish breakfast. "I'm hungry like a wolf, I could devour a dragon."
"Well, it's rare to see you in such a good mood. Did you sleep well?"
"Rather yes, I don't know if it's this city, but I haven't felt so good in a long time."
"Well, I'm glad that our return to a little more rural area is doing you good. It is true that London can be oppressive at times. "
"Oppressive, the word is weak. In your place I would use the word 'toxic' instead. Every time you open your mouth, you inhale the equivalent of a lump of coal. It's really not a place to live or raise healthy children. "
"Yes mum, but another five years and then we can come back here if we feel like it. It's important that Sean has a first-class education."
"And Ilvermorny, isn't that first-class schooling?"
"We won't have this discussion in front of the kids."
The rest of breakfast pass in silence and no one seems to want to break this awkward situation. Susan finally got up, she goes down the stairs, rubbing her eyes, still half asleep.
"Hello" She growls the word almost as much as she articulates it.
"Hello Susan, sit down, do you want some pancakes? They're still hot."
