The basilisk

// THIS IS AN OLD CHAPTER. THE NEW CHAPTERS ARE IN VOLUME 2. YOU CAN READ THESE CHAPTERS IF YOU WANT SOME INSIGHT ON WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN LATER BUT SOME EVENTS CAN BE DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW CHAPTERS.

It's been a month now since I joined the Order of Merlin, which hasn't really changed my life so much by the way, it only silenced some gossip about me by replacing them with new ones like for example the cold dance between me and Daphne at the ball, the kind of girl I like or even how to convince me to give the new chocolate frog card.

It was because of Dumbledore that this rumor started when he asked the bloody baron to bring me into his office with my famous wizards' cards to trade. I originally thought he wanted me to come and discuss the episode with the dementors in his office but absolutely not, he really wanted to trade one of my cards for one of his. I finally left with Circe, Herpo the Infamous and Helga Hufflepuff.

Unlike Susan, I wasn't allowed to take the train back to Hogwarts. It was Dumbledore himself who came to apparate me to the castle grounds. They are afraid the Dementors will go mad again if I get too close to them, and the train crosses the area they are protecting.

I added other creatures to my collection thanks to Mister Borgin who gladly provided me with a Graphorn, a Horned Serpent from North America and a mountain troll against the rest of the money I received from the president of MACUSA. I also went to the Forbidden Forest to capture a pitiponk and a boggart.

With all these new creatures absorbed, the Beast absolutely no longer looks like the original Wampus cat, long horns have appeared on its head as have rows of short thorns on its back, its musculature has grown massive, its fur escapes in small fine hair from under his scales and a blue jewel adorns his forehead while a brilliant tattoo of the same color is drawn on his body whose limbs sometimes seem to become translucent. I don't know if I should steal Buck to get wings or wait until I get a thunderbird to get extra power besides the wings.

However, a much bigger target awaits me today, the Basilisk from the Chamber of Secrets.

He was never seen or heard during my three years at Hogwarts, from what I've read, old basilisks have periods of hibernation which can be forced by their masters as well. I rely heavily on the element of surprise and the fact that it is weakened by its awakening to absorb it quickly even though I doubt that such a powerful and ancient creature will go down without saying anything.

I leave Styx in his vivarium; he does not need to see the death of one of his last living congeners.

I make my way to the girls' bathroom on the second floor. I make sure I'm alone in the room, trying to open all the doors when I come across a notebook and some drawing materials. I open a random page and come across a drawing of myself protecting Malfoy from Potter riding a hippogriff. In the picture Malfoy's torso is in the open and his clothes are torn. They also represented me more muscular than I currently am with a really big bump in my pants. Potter is also very idealized but in a bad boy style. I stop reading as I sink my tongue into Malfoy's mouth and my hand into Harry's pants.

I confiscate the books of these girls whose imaginations are too fertile for their own good, it will all end in the fireplace of the common room. I still leave the drawing material there that seems to be of value. Seeing that there is no one, I open the chamber of secrets.

~ Open up ~

The taps move aside, revealing a staircase. I go down the first steps before closing behind me. The place is damp, but it doesn't take long for me to find the metal door that locks the snake's lair.

~ Open up ~

The snakes on the door folds back letting it open noisily. When I advance the huge statue of Salazar Slytherin has his mouth closed, I therefore suspect that the basilisk is hiding behind it.

~ I am the descendant of Salazar Slytherin, open up and let me recover my ancestor's treasures ~

The statue's mouth opens heavily, letting out a basilisk.

~ You are very puny for a descendant of my master, but you smell of death, that's good. ~

~ You are related to my lineage; you must obey me! ~

~ You may have the blood of my master, but I would obey only his worthy successor and that post is already occupied. ~

~ The post has not been occupied for almost 14 years, all that remains of Tom Riddle are fragments of his soul that think they are him. ~

~ So, prove to me that you are worthy to take his place ~

~ I have nothing to prove to you, I'll just devour you! ~

I attack the creature with a bombarda throwing it violently against the wall of the cave, I cut my hand letting my blood flow, running straight towards the serpent in the hope of being able to lay my hand on him to submit him by tracing the seal of domination with my blood .

He comes to his senses in less than a second, my spell barely ringing her. As she swings her tail against me making me fly a few feet before landing heavily on the soaking floor of the room. I transform, assuming the humanoid form of the beast and launching stupefies with my four hands. It is not enough to paralyze the monster, but it is just enough to reduce its movement speed. The creature struggles to break the spell with its physical strength alone. The shock of his movements against the cave walls causes several stalactites to crash onto the ground.

I gather my energy to cast the curse of hindrance, making it as powerful as possible.

"Impedimenta"

The basilisk hisses, trying to meet my gaze because the only thing he can still move is his head. I don't know how much time I have until the spell stops working, I've never cast it on such a massive creature. I quickly trace my seal on his scales closest to his head. As soon as my spell is ready, I tell the creature not to move and to close its eyes. I carve the runes into the damp ground as fast as I can, already feeling the shackle spell I cast previously unleashing.

The runes are now in place, the basilisk trembles struggling against my order as my seal of dominance shines and gradually crumbles. I don't have much time left.

I activate the ritual the basilisk is slowly transforming into a golden sphere. At three-quarters of the transformation into pure essence, my dominance spell breaks, and the basilisk begins to twist in pain. However, he is now too weak to be able to stop the ritual, I won.

When the basil is completely transformed the rest of the ritual goes off without a hitch and I transform again, blue feathers appear at the base of my neck and my scales harden and thicken to become almost indestructible armor. I smell the taste of poison on my fangs as I activate my poison glands, I hasten to spit it out on the floor.

Today's mission is a success. Now let's see if Voldy left me anything. I walk through the statue's open mouth, but there's nothing left inside only empty chests and shelves that are just as empty, Tom took it all away. I still examine the walls for a secret room or a hidden recess, but I still can't see anything that looks like it.

Too bad, I can imagine the Parseltongue spell books or the other treasures that this room could have contained before.

It's been a long day and I'm so tired it's time to go to bed, I still have time to explore another day.
