Death eaters invite themselves to the party

// THIS IS AN OLD CHAPTER. THE NEW CHAPTERS ARE IN VOLUME 2. YOU CAN READ THESE CHAPTERS IF YOU WANT SOME INSIGHT ON WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN LATER BUT SOME EVENTS CAN BE DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW CHAPTERS.

After eating a few Turkish delights and trying to chat with the different members of my family. Sophia and Anka dragged me to a woman who was in charge of bewitching the hair of the veela for tonight's show. They made me sit on a stool before talking to the hairdresser.

"Sean, longer." Sophia is pointing at her hair. I guess she wants me to lengthen mine.

After I lengthened my hair, the woman grabs my head and start to work. She shaves the sides and back of my head before tying two braids that start from the sides of my forehead to go over my ears and come together in a bun at the back of my head. The result gives me a rather interesting Viking style. I don't think I can style my own hair to achieve the same result. Maybe I could find out if there isn't a magic comb or something that could do my hair.

After the hairdressing workshop, I return to my tent. There is nothing really special about it except that the interior is the size of our house in Mystic Falls. I go in my suitcase to change and put on my wizarding outfit. I don't see why I should dress like a camper when the kids are playing on fake flying brooms outside and our neighbors' tents are clearly abnormal.

Mom is on her magiphone surveying the purchase of a Muggle energy company. She's so busy she didn't see me come in the tent.

"You should go see Grandma's sisters, I'm sure she'd be happy if you introduced yourself." She jumps when she hears me speak.

"Sean? Have you changed your appearance again?! At least it looks better on you than the look straight out of an Edgard Allan Poe book. It gives you a good northern warrior style."

"Thanks, but doesn't that tell me if you're going to go see Grandma's sisters?"

"I don't know Sean, I'm so busy right now and I wouldn't know what to tell them."

"You can start with * Hello *" My mom laughed as she heard the foreign word come out of my mouth.

"Maybe I can start with that indeed." My mother hugs me to give herself courage before leaving the tent to reach the veela camp.

When night falls people start heading to the stadium to watch the game, most of the stands are already occupied by the time we get to our seats. I spot a house elf sitting next to an empty space.

"Hello, is this seat occupied?"

"Oh! Yes, Winky is keeping the place warm for her master."

I pretend to stumble and find myself right in front of the empty seat. Winky has a moment of panic when she thinks I have found my target, Barty Crouch Junior.

"Are you okay sir ?!" The little house elf comes running to my aid.

"Nothing serious don't worry, I just tripped on my shoelace." I discreetly slide an untraceable wand that I bought at Borgin and Burkes earlier under the invisibility cloak. I feel fingers tighten strongly on the wand to take it from my hands.

"There, just the time to tie my laces and I walk on my own two legs again."

"If sir is ok, Winky has to go back and keep the seat for her master." Winky returns to sit down and continues to observe the surroundings in the hope of seeing Barty Crouch Senior.

"Enjoy the game, Winky." I move away to go find my parents.

As I settle into my seat, Fudge walks in our direction with a rich man clad in fur, his accent is similar to that of the veelas at the camp, I assume it must be the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

"Mr. and Mrs. Bones, what a pleasure to see you! Wouldn't you have seen Mr. Crouch. He was supposed to act as my interpreter for my Bulgarian colleague. It's annoying, I have trouble making myself understood." My mother smiled politely at Fudge before speaking with the Bulgarian minister.

* Good evening, Minister. It is a pleasure to meet you."

* Ha, good evening madam, finally someone who speaks Bulgarian. Your minister kept me walking around the stadium and its great fun to make him think I don't understand him * Fudge next to the man is both surprised and relieved to finally find someone who can help him make himself understood.

"Could I ask you to accompany me the rest of the evening so that I can speak to him about urgent matters which cannot wait." Fudge is truly desperate to seek help from someone outside of the ministry.

"With great pleasure." My mother accompanies Fudge to his seat.

I suddenly see the president of MACUSA with Lana walking towards Fudge and my mother. The President wore one of his usual three-piece suits while Lana is in a pastel pink suit.

"Hello Mrs. Bones, I did not expect to see you in the company of two ministers? "

"Well Minister Fudge needed a translator, so I responded positively to his request." Samuel Quahog keeps a facade smile but does not seem the least interested in this story of interpreter.

"Is Sean there?" Lana looks in all directions for me. I forgot that I have changed my appearance since the last time she saw me and that I am still in my veela features. Or veelan? Is there a masculine for this species?

"I'm here, just played around with my appearance a bit." Lana seems destabilized before blushing, which does not escape her father. "You want to come and watch the game with me, I have to join some friends in a little while."

"Go with Mr. Bones, there are matters I need to discuss with Mr. Fudge." Lana takes my hand and starts to pull me, so happy to be separated from her father.

I take her to the seats occupied by the Weasleys. They are standing on the highest platform of the stadium dressed in the color of Ireland.

"Hi, this is Lana, a friend I met in New York." Ginny seems to be beaming to see me before laying her eyes on Lana. If a look could freeze, the stadium would have become an iceberg.

"Hello Lana, I am a CLOSE friend of Sean. Have you known each other for a long time?" Ginny's smile makes us all a little uncomfortable and I stand back next to Fred and George.

"Not for very long, we met at a party and we immediately got a good feeling." The two girls fix themselves without moving for some time until the team's mascots enter the field.

I recognize some of my great aunts' daughters in the dancers. Fred, Georges and Ron are captivated by what is going on in the pitch and their bodies stiffen as if they were about to throw themselves over the railing to join the dancers below. I don't feel any particular effect, so I deduce that I am insensitive to the attraction of the veela. Then it was the turn of the Irish team who decided to play with illusions and fireworks on the theme of leprechauns. Once the show was over, the players entered the field, and the match began.

In the end it was Ireland who won despite the fact that Viktor Krum caught the snitch. We come down from the stands to gather in my tent, the Weasleys carried away by the joy of the victory of the Irish team invite themselves in this one. Lana also followed me while waiting for her father to come and pick her up.

A few hours later we are all in our beds. Lana was escorted by MACUSA agents and the Weasleys returned to their tent to sleep. I only sleep with one eye, waiting for the screams to evacuate with the others. I begin to hear the hubbub of the crowd and the cries of panic rise in the distance.

"Dad, mum, wake up. Something's going on outside." My dad rolls over in his sleep but doesn't try to get up.

"Sean, go back to sleep, it's probably nothing."

"There are cries of panic outside!" My father leans on his forearms to straighten up and tries to listen. His eyes widen and his expression hardens when he finally hears the screams outside and the noise of the bustling crowd.

"Elenea, wake up! Pick up Sean and go hide in the woods!" He quickly puts on some clothes and leaves the tent to walk towards the source of the commotion. During this time, we run with my mother in the direction of the forest bordering the campsite. My mother is about to Apparate us to a safer place when suddenly the Dark Mark explodes in the sky as we disappear.
