While Harry's character has improved since we returned to the castle, the same cannot be said about Ron who stayed at Hogwarts. He behaves as if his friend had not changed. He acts odiously and then uses Harry's name as if it makes him untouchable. The little piglet is one of the few things that reminds people of the old Harry.
But tomorrow is a very special day, it's the little piglet's birthday. For the occasion, we have planned a night trip in the common room of Gryffindor with Blaise and Edward.
I'll let Blaise and Edward prepare a little present while I go find my best password source, Neville. I take the appearance of a Gryffindor that I found in the corridors and go looking for Neville in the castle. I finally find him in the lobby talking to Seamus.
"Hi, can you tell me the password for the common room? I forgot it and I can't remember it."
"Sure, it's sparkling sunflower." Neville doesn't suspect anything and gives me the password.
"Thank you, have a nice day, guys." I'm leaving without saying anything before I blow my cover. It would be a shame to say something stupid and screw up the plan.
Once back in my common room, I find Blaise and Edward preparing a potion on one of the tables.
"Did it work? Did you get the password?"
"Yes, it was far too easy to get it. Neville gives it to anyone with a Gryffindor outfit. What have you prepared while I was away?" I'm curious to see what their vicious minds have concocted for us.
"An explosive gift filled with billywig sting powder, boils potions, and dye potions to dye his hair pink."
"Not bad, not bad at all. Do you need help with the preparation?"
"You can help Edward grind the stings. I'll watch the potions while they finish cooking."
We spend the rest of the afternoon preparing our trap. When everyone else is asleep, we get up and go and give Ron our little present. Each of us made a hood with one of our socks, making sure to cut out the Slytherin logo and make holes for our eyes and mouth.
We walk without a sound, stealthily leaving the dungeons and advancing at the wolf's pace up to the moving stairs. This one is generally quieter at night as to not disturb the occupants of the castle. We have to wait ten minutes before it takes the right configuration allowing us to access the Gryffindor common room.
My heart is pounding, we haven't met any ghosts so far and luckily all the paintings seem to be asleep.
"Sparkling sunflower."
"But you are not from Gryffindor!" The fat lady seems to be surprised by our presence.
"Sparkling sunflower." I insist and she eventually gives in.
"All right, but expect some serious trouble, boys."
Once inside, we discreetly install our package in front of the door to the first-year boys dormitory before hearing a voice in our back.
"Tell me Georges, it seems that we are not the only ones who want to give a gift to our little brother."
"Who would have thought that our dear little brother had so many friends that they would risk venturing into the dormitory of another house to give him a gift."
I was about to go into cardiac arrest when I heard a voice behind my back, but of all the Gryffondor, we're lucky to have stumbled upon those who probably won't report us.
Fred and Georges stand behind us with a gift of their own compositions in their hands and knowing the reputation of the two brothers, it is unlikely that it will end well for Ron.
"I tell you what's in our gift and you tell us what's in yours." I'm quite curious of what they're going to put their brother trough.
"Sounds like an honest deal to me. What do you think, Fred?"
"Sounds fair to me, George."
"Okay, explosive box with boiling potion and coloring potion and a big pinch of billywig sting powder."
"Ouch" Georges seems impressed by our little creation. That is no small compliment from one of the two men who are going to set up their own stuffing and catches shop.
"Ours is an enchanted tutu that can't be removed and throws itself on the first person he sees with an extra instant makeup."
"Simple and effective." Turning Ron into a ballerina in front of the whole school is a good idea. Less dangerous than ours, but just as fun. "What do you want to do in the end? Meet up tomorrow with us to enjoy the result, or report us to Filch and meet each other again during the next detention?"
"Um, I don't know what you think, George, but it doesn't seem right to denounce colleagues to Filch."
"Yes, Fred. No snitch in the prankster."
We shake hands now that we have an agreement and return to our dormitory without arousing suspicion. We really dodged a bullet, if we had run into any other Gryffindor, we would have had problems and I might have had to cast a memory charm on him.
----------POV Ron Weasley----------
This morning, I wake up earlier than usual. I can't wait to go to the great hall to see if my mother has sent me a gift.
When I open the dormitory door, I notice two packages with my name placed right in front of the door. One was offered to me by Percy and the other by Harry. I'm happy, I was a little afraid we were not friends anymore since he's studying with the Slytherins.
I take the two packages with me and sit at a table in the common room. I start with Harry's package, it will probably be more interesting than Percy's gift. He will probably give me a new feather and inkwell.
I untie the red and gold knot of the gift and open it. A second later, I am assaulted by a pink tutu that fits over my clothes while a palette of makeup is pounding on my face. I haven't even had time to react that I'm wearing a tutu and makeup that I can't remove.
Great, another joke from Fred and Georges. I didn't think they'd do that to me on my birthday, much less borrow Harry's name. I'm leaning towards the last package. I don't expect much from Percy, but I will quickly open it and find some scissors to free myself from this situation.
When I open the box, it explodes and I am sprayed with some liquid and powder. I even swallow a little by accident.
Suddenly, I start to inflate in uncontrollable ways and rise slowly to float some inches above the floor.
"HAAAAAAAA! HELP ME! HELP ME!" My cries alerts the other Gryffindor who comes out of their rooms to see what is happening. I see Fred and Georges laughing at each other. All of a sudden, the windows of the common room open wide and a violent wind take me through it as I continue to fly higher and higher towards the lake. No matter how hard I scream, no one seems to want to help me.
----------POV Sean Bones-----------
The next morning, we are waiting near the portrait of the fat lady when we hear a first cry accompanied shortly after by a second. It would seem that Ron did not expect to have two prank one after the other, especially as ours was signed with Percy's name. Who would dare use the name of a prefect except us?
We see Fred and Georges running out of the common room and heading towards us.
"Quick, in the park!"
We follow them, running out of the castle where we can see Ron, disguised as a ballerina, flying through the window of the Gryffindor tower screaming.
"It's absolutely glorious." I can't help but be impressed with the final result. It is both funny, dangerous, and absolutely ridiculous. Surely a masterpiece that will remain in the history of Hogwarts.
"I think I'm gonna cry." Fred and Georges have tears in their eyes as they watch their brother float slowly in the sky. What I wouldn't give for a chair and some popcorn.
When the teachers are finally alerted, Madam Hooch hurried to bring the poor little piglet to the ground and Flitwick drags him by a rope like a balloon to the infirmary in front of the whole school who was laughing at him uncontrollably, a horrible purple balloon full of boils, in a tutu.
Everyone will talk about it for weeks.
