Chapter 6

When I woke up I was riddled with confusion. Who was that man and why was he with the woman I saw with my dad in my other dream? I didn't even know anymore. I just got up and sat on my bed while staring at the ceiling. "Why do I keep getting these annoying dreams?" I sat there while on the verge of crying. "I hate these dreams so much." I couldn't stop myself from crying. Then my phone began ringing. At first, I didn't want to answer but the constant ringing began to annoy me. I reluctantly answered and honestly, I wish I didn't.

"Hello." "Kennedy is this you?" "Who is this?" "It's me, son. I missed you so much." "Why are you calling me?" "It's because I have some important stuff to tell you." "Save it. I don't want to ever talk to you again!" I abruptly hung up on him and then blocked his number. I was too upset to handle a conversation with him. I lay back down on my bed and continued to stare right at the ceiling. It felt as if I had weights on my shoulders.

Few days passed and it was time to go to church. I tried to carry on smartly even though I wasn't feeling a hundred percent. Suddenly something caught my eye. It was Ayumi. She looked so beautiful in her dress. My heart began racing as she came closer to me. "Hi, Ken! You look so handsome in your clothes." "Thanks and you look beautiful in that dress." "So this is the boy you were talking about." "Hi, ma'am." "No need to be so formal." "This is my aunty Amaya." "Well, nice to meet you, Ms. Amaya. My name is Kimberly."

They walked into the church while talking leaving both of us alone. "Shall we go inside, Ken?" "Sure Yumi." "We walked inside and took our seats at the back of the church. It started amazingly with the choir singing several hymns. The pastor came afterward and shared his sermon. I had a blast with Ayumi and soon my mood shifted. I was about to leave after church was over but the pastor wanted to speak to me. "Hi, Kennedy. I can tell something concerning was on your mind but now it seems like you are better now. Am I right?"

"Yes sir." "Well allow me to say a prayer for you." He said a short but sweet prayer and I felt at ease. "Whenever you are feeling down again just let me know and I will pray my heart out for you." I thanked him and went on my way. Ayumi was waiting for me and almost instantly she hugged me. "Wow. Out of the blue huh?" "I just wanted to thank you for this awesome time." "Ah. Thanks for coming with me." I returned the hug. Our guardians looked at us from afar and smiles were on their faces. "I have not seen her this happy in a while." "I am glad my son chose such a kind should to be his girlfriend."

After walking together, we parted ways and headed home. I went straight to my bed and fell asleep. "Oh, you are here again huh?" I said to my carbon copy. "Yes. I am here to answer any questions you have for me." "Well, do you know the meaning of the dreams I've been having recently?" "Well, I do but it would not benefit you if I told you them." "I see. Well, why did Dad call me after how he has been recently?" "He said he has some things to talk to you about and they are connected to your dreams." "Then should I answer him?" "It is up to you."

Soon he faded away and I was left all alone as my emotions got the better of me. Then I saw a distant light. I walked gradually towards it and soon I saw myself alone with Ayumi. It seemed like we were having so much fun. Unfortunately, it wouldn't stay like that for long. She walked passed me while crying as she headed for the darkness. The dream me was crying. "Why did you leave me? Why did you leave me? Please come back Yumi. Please come back!" I walked towards him and hugged him. "It's okay. I am here for you and I won't leave you."

Then I woke up. "Why was she crying and leaving me? Are we not meant for each other?" I got up after crying and spent a long time in the shower. I got ready and then left my house. I looked at Ayumi's house and decided not to wait for her. I walked away trying to hold back tears. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Why didn't you wait for me you big jerk!" "I'm sorry Yumi but I just want to be by myself for now." I walked to school by myself and when my other friends greeted me I ignored them. "Hey Yumi. What is wrong with my bro." "I honestly don't know."

Lunch started and I wasn't performing well at practice so the coach decided to give me the rest of lunch to get some rest. I went to the boy's bathroom and sat on the toilet while crying. "I can't think of a life without Ayumi. What did I do to make her leave me? Honestly speaking though, she is too good for me so it must be a sign." I walked out of the bathroom after washing my face and carried on with the rest of the day keeping to myself. As the bell rang, I left immediately and headed straight home. Later that night I received a group call from my friends but I didn't answer.

I couldn't sleep at all well more like I was too scared to fall asleep. So I decided instead of going to sleep I would sneak outside and get some fresh air. I found a bench and sat on it. "Why was I so harsh to my friends? I was upset but they didn't do anything wrong." I thought to myself. "Fancy meeting you here huh son?" I immediately tried to leave the scene but he grabbed my arms. When I turned around he was on his knees begging for forgiveness and then a woman holding a baby was behind him. It seemed one of my dreams had come through.
