I was just finishing my last cycle of tempering. Now everything was at the fifth level. I was able to use over three quarters of the meridians to cycle my ki. I had originally planned on going to the nightmares and eliminating them but I decided against it since I didn't know how dangerous they would be. My training kicked in. So I prepared myself before I did so.
Preparation upon preparation upon preparation.
I was now able to create a simple firearm with my mental energy. The bullets were actually the hardest thing to create as they were different in the number of grains within the cartridge. Even so I was able to create a number of bullets for the gun.
Looking around I examined the hanger bay. Marines were training in the shooting range. The Navy personnel was rushing around preparing the ship for an engagement it was likely never going to see. The engineering corps was working on the armor division including the warthogs, scorpions, mechs and pelicans.
I took in a deep breath as the smells of a spaceship in preparation for war filled my nose and lungs. I smiled as I stood up. Leaning down I picked up all of the magazines. Placing them in the straps on my harness I got myself ready for the incoming battles.
I was covered in kevlar and steel chainmail mesh that covered my whole body. I have been busy in the last thirty days. I was mentally tired but that was only from the mental energy being used to keep everything solid. I was not physically tired since ki was one of the best stimulants someone can come across. It also makes more sense why everyone wants to cultivate so much if ki feels so good everyone would want to do it.
It is like a combination of a constant high, that doesn't affect your mental capability instead it makes your mind feel so much clearer and stronger, and the results of completing a long project or increasing your personal best on something you have been working hard on for a long time. The sense of accomplishment and the high are a potent cocktail.
"I never realized how addicting cultivation could be." I said to myself.
Valkyry appeared and began to speak, "Yes I concluded the same thing after going through all of the cultivation. Ki is something that seems to be a drug like concept that led the heroes/villains to be deranged people that broke customs. Making them constantly work towards the next high. It is going to be a problem with your previous life."
"Oh you think it will lead me down the wrong path?" I asked slightly worried I would become desensitized to everything save for the next level of strength.
"Only a little. You love a challenge and cultivation is a constant challenge. But if you are sure to go around enjoying life there shouldn't be a problem. Since your love for this world will likely lead you to keep from focusing too much on cultivation." Valkyry said as she looked at me.
"True. I really want to explore this world more than cultivate. Cultivation is only a tool to do that. Ahhh. I can't wait to meet all of them. It's going to be so much fun." I said as I thought about all the heroes and villains in this universe.
"Are you sure you are ready to fight your nightmares?" Valkyry asked slight worry evident on her face.
"Yes. I don't have time to worry about. I have to finish controlling my rage before the League returns from the battle with the Flood. If I am able to do that I will be able to fight with the big hitters even if slightly. I have to control the Ozzaru before I can work on my future development or I could become a threat to the people surrounding me. I will not allow that to happen." I said resolutely as I stared hard at the sealed hanger door.
I could have sworn I heard a roar from the sealed door. But with all the surrounding machinery I could not be sure. Turning away from the door I looked into the open expanse that was outside of the nematic doors.
"Wish me luck." I said as I stepped forward towards my earliest nightmares.
"Good luck Broly." Valkyry said as I stepped through the door.
I walked forward and was completely surrounded by darkness. From the fear radiating from the surroundings I found my first nightmare. The nightmare most if not all people feel at some point in their life.
The nightmare of complete darkness. It is something that children have a hard time dealing with since they are not sure of the world and are trying to understand their place. This nightmare was something I had come across multiple time in my past life. After floating through space for days on end it really rears its head.
Now that I was prepared and ready I faced the nightmare.
Darkness is only the beginning of creation. The blank canvas that is where the universe paints itself. Where life formed and created itself in odds to the threats that life faces on the canvas and the endless universe.
As my thoughts bled into the surroundings the hallway became lighter as the darkness receded. I felt my mind and soul strengthen by a bit as the doorway at the end appeared with light flowing in from it. Stopping at the doorway I tried to look at the nightmare but I couldn't see anything. Sighing I walked through.
I walked in and saw the form of the doctor who changed my life and all of my brother and sister SPARTANS. Doctor Halsey appeared before me as I returned from my hunt. I had been hunting since I was four years old with my father after two years I was able to hunt on my own within father's hunting range.
The alien animals on the planet were pack and herd animals. Similar to the dinosaurs of ancient Earth. They would never leave one of their own alone if they could help it. I learned to shoot a high speed bebe gun by my father. It was at a level of threat that 21 first machine guns were of equal power. Due to the danger of the planet the colony gave people the needed materials to survive. That included powerful hardware.
The planet only allowed strong hardy people to land on the world. No one there was not a battle hardened military veteran or even a psychopath. It was similar to the colonizing of Australia where only criminals were present.
My father was one to think that a man needed to be a man as soon as possible.
I had brought in Halsey after she heard I survived a stampede of carnivorous herds. No one had ever survived a stampede before me. I had somehow killed hundreds of the beasts before escaping to higher ground where I fought a running battle until I killed all of the stampede.
I returned home and was sentenced to grounding until I was thirty. As a few weeks passed by Halsey appeared with Ramirez. The two stood in the doorway looking down upon me as I asked them what they wanted.
This is where the nightmare started Halsey and Ramirez were looking down upon me before they blurred turning into the animals of the stampede. They began chasing me all the way to Reach where my life would forever change.
Seeing this I was reminiscent of the life I had before it turned into the militant life I came to love.
I saw the nightmare repeat multiple time before I stepped forward and placed my hand on the younger me's shoulder. As I did I showed him the life he gained by following them. The younger me looked on and a smile I am all too familiar with appeared on my younger self's face. It was the smile of a predator on the hunt for the next prey.
The younger me stepped forward and grabbed the two adult's hands before they transformed. The three of them walked out to the pelican that had settled into the open area between the buildings.
I watched as they climbed onto the pelican and flew off.
I felt a warm wave of energy fill my mind and soul.
Turning I walked to the next doorway that held a white light.
The next nightmare was my first nights on Reach in the military barracks. The tests I went through to be proven for duty. The machines had scared me as they looked dangerous and the people looked on with blank expressions.
In the nightmare the people had lost their faces. They were merely faceless beings with wide jaws and freakish smiles. The examination tools gained points and blades. Though they didn't do anything to the children they just sat there and filled the children with fear.
Seeing this I sighed once again as I remembered the fear this nightmare filled me in the following months.
Watching it repeat again I stepped forward and gave myself another direction of guidance. The scientists and military personnel returned to their original state.
Another wash of power ran over me as I walked to the next corridor.
I froze as I looked upon the first place I called my second home. The Reach outpost where I was trained with the other SPARTANS. This was going to be a long couple days as I finished walking through all of my many nightmares of my past life.

Outside of Broly's mind.
6 days until the engagement of Flood
Batman stood in the center of the watchtower waiting for the newcomers to appear. J'onn stood to his side as well as Superman on the other side. "So who do you expect to be a problem?" Superman asked.
"I think that will be Arthur Curry. He is a head strong person as well as being a King. He will be the hardest to deal with. Shazam is actually easier to handle since he will be fangirling over you. Fate is a toss-up but likely to join since he was a part of the JLA a while back. Green Arrow and Black Canary are likely to join since Flash has been bugging them about it for a while." Batman said.
"I have sensed a young mind as well as an ancient one connected to Shazam. The young one is the one in control. So, I am unsure of how to speak with him." J'onn said as he looked at the two.
"Yes I feel as if he is actually a child in man's body. If my sources are correct then I believe a child has run into the power of an ancient being. He was chosen by the being to hold the mantle of power. So we will see how it goes." Batman said.
"He's a child and you want him to join us?" Superman looked at Batman like he was mad.
"He is on equal levels of power as you. Even with his child aspects he still has the power to affect change. Plus we can guide him to become a stronger smarter and better fighter. We need to raise up the younger generation to succeed our positions if we face to dangerous of a threat." Batman said as he stared right back at Superman.
Superman waved his hand and said, "I know, I know. It just hurts to put children in harm's way."
"Harm's way will find itself in front of these children even if we do nothing. We have to do our best to guide them and hopefully lead them to be better than ourselves." Batman said as he looked back at the teleporter.
"Huh, never expected to hear that from you." Wonder Woman said as she floated down to the ground beside the three.
"Well after everything yesterday my plans changed. We will not always be here. So we have to lead and guide for the future more than we have so far." Batman said as the plans for the schools for Meta's were well on their way to completion in his head. He would have to ask Flash and his team for their assistance to make it happen. If Arthur Curry decided to join then Batman would have to ask him for assistance as well plus a few other ideas to ease the Atlantean people into the surface world's political quagmire.
A flash of light was all the heroes received before the visitors all appeared before them. Arthur Curry stood in his golden fish scale armor with his trident in his hand. He was just a bulky as superman, He had a large dark beard with long flowing hair. His feet were covered in scale plated boots. He was dressed for war.
Shazam was dressed in his red suit with the lightning bolt across his chest. White boots with some wings on the side. A white short flowing cape on his left shoulder. He was built like Superman just a little wider all over.
Fate was a lithe figure covered in a blue suit with a golden lining. A golden helmet sat upon his head obscuring his face. Only his eyes were seen glowing behind the helmet. A golden ankh sat upon his chest on a chain of gold.
Beside him stood a woman in black leather jacket. She wore boots tied over top the legs of her leather pants. Golden hair fell around her shoulders. She was a real beauty, equal to supermodels.
Beside her was a man dressed in green leathers with a bow in his hand. A quiver of arrows was present on his back. He wore similar boots as the woman. He had similar eyes to Batman, only his were a little harsher.
"We welcome you five to the Justice League. We have asked you here to join us in our mission to safeguard the earth from internal and external threats." Superman said as he started the talk off.
The talks ended just as Batman believed they would. Arthur Curry was very confrontational but after speaking with the four of the seven of the Justice League he came to a realization that had been tickling the back of his mind. His kingdom would be at war with everyone if they do not form connections. One connection with the Justice League would make a great boon to Curry's future connections with the upper world.
Shazam was fangirling after Superman and quickly agreed to join.
Green Arrow and Black Canary followed after since they had already been convinced by Flash into joining. They submitted requests to only be pulled in when truly needed.
Fate stood before the Justice League and said in a forceful voice, "You follow the lords of order tenants. For this reason, I will join you."
And so, five new members of the Justice League joined and started to prepare for the future. Batman was the one to explain their future actions within the week. Once they learned that they would not be required to join they all sighed in relief before Shazam and Aquaman complained at not joining in the battle. After Aquaman said this they all looked at him with questioning gazes. All of them silently thought, "Battle Junky."
After some more talks it was agreed that Aquaman would join the original members while Shazam would stay behind. Orignially he was angry at being left behind but when Wonder Woman spoke to him saying he would take Superman's place for the time being. After spoking to the Amazon Princess Shazam nearly fell into a puddle as he tripped over his words.
The four original Justice League members looked at one another. They all agreed.
Shazam was actually a kid.
Finishing the meeting Batman left to create a new armor for Aquaman one that would replicate the characteristics of an eel since it would provide the best protection for the water bound hero.
Now there were four heroes who would help each other to take the load of the seven who would be leaving. They were also given leave to request aid from the other Justice League hopefuls. This was not done without thought as the Justice League had some thoughts that his request would help in gaining their support and aid.
Hopefully the Justice League would grow thronged through this trying battle.
