Ji Ji

Staying in the inn was not feasible and comfortable for quite a number of reasons.

Cultivation ease and privacy couldn't be seamless, conformtability and many other reasons, and also rather than staying in an inn for long it was better to rent or buy an home.

Yes, Zhan Shenwei planned to buy a residence, he could afford it!

He necessarily didn't want something flashy or extravagant but quite a useful, comfortable and nice home.

He also had plans to get a maid and a butler, to Zhan Shenwei this was being quite effecient with his life.

He was going to be busy with work and cultivation, it was very better to get someone to handle tasks that could certain tasks and chores for him.

Not to mention the 100 gold coins he received today, with the high purchasing quality of gold he was certain he get a nice home.

One should not look at gold so lightly because the city guards were given an hundred a month.

it was just gold wasn't so difficult to procure or very useful for cultivators, Zhan Shenwei also had a mountain pile in his storage ring.

As for being quite conspicuous due to buying an home, this wasn't an issue, when he had asked the clerk about accomodation aspects of the guards, he had informed Zhan Shenwei that it was quite lax.

Apart from the City Lord, commanders and few prestigious captains that had inner city residences the rest procured houses in the outer city.

It was just an issue of more or less gold.

Maybe most couldn't buy a residence after just a month's stipend except those from wealthy backgrounds but they could all relatively do so after a while.

As far how to go about the " shopping " in the bright jade City where he was relatively new in, that wasn't so difficult for Zhan Shenwei.

If one didn't something, one should ask!, if one desired something one should search!

Atop the inn entrance stairs Zhan Shenwei scanned the streets for a suitable target.

Settling on a rough looking young man that walked the street with a certain relaxed comfortable looking swagger, Zhan Shenwei approached him.

Ji ji was a local powerhouse, well not among those of the inner city, or those of the immortals neither was he one of those of the powerful, wealthy or prestigious or even normal fellows of the bright jade city.

But among the streets he was a quite "respected", casually walking the streets and humming while imagining the exciting action he was going to have this night at the back alley red district, Ji ji almost couldn't control his excitement, life was really looking good.

As an orphan in the shadiest slum area of the bright jade City, his early days had been rough, filled with struggle and strive, with no one to care for him, even his name Ji ji ( lucky) was given to him by himself, hoping for better days.

But from all these he had clawed from the bottom to a boss of a relatively sized area of poorer parts of the bright jade City.

And he had more ambitions, going from the boss of lower runts, to maybe lower class figures, then middle class, then upper class, or even finding a place among the prestigious figures of the outer city.

Though the greatest of his desire was to be or even serve those exalted immortals and inner city figures.

Although all these were dreams, what was a man without dreams!

All he was today was as a result of his good dreams and good luck, thinking of this Ji Ji chest became more puffed up, his aura also puffed up reflecting his inner dreams.

He was in the midst of his good dreams while humming a sweet tune, on his own, on his own oh!, when Ji Ji felt a tap on his shoulder, waking him.

Ji Ji felt fury boil in him, he was on own oh!, usually a troublemaker he was on his own now oh, which piss of shit came to disturb him, turning back and about give the intruder a piece of his mind and jab to his f**king head when Ji Ji swallowed his words and turn his raised fist to cupped hands.

What he had expected wasn't it, rather it was very handsome young boy with nice smile and cupped fist at him.

Of course what stopped Ji Ji wasn't the very handsome face or the polite greeting gesture.

But the relatively wealthy clothing, the noble presence, the immortal aura...

He even recognized the guard tag on the kid's waist.

A city guard, a young one!

Oh God, thank God he had been slow to talk and throw his punch now, cold sweat flowed through Ji Ji's forehead.

One of the important skill of survival was handling human relations, as a low tier boss himself Ji Ji understood those he could bully and not.

Not knowing what was going through Ji Ji's mind Zhan Shenwei said politely, " sorry to disturb you Sir, I'm new to the bright jade City, would your esteemed self please explain or maybe show me an agent or agency involved properties and workers in the outer city, if not possible could you point me to the direction"

Sir!, Jin Jin almost blushed in embarrassment, this immortal city guard was quite polite, an immortal calling him Sir, it was like a he calling his lowest underlin Sir, even more exaggerated than that, after all the other party was an immortal cultivator.

Forgetting all his intended sensual actions, Ji Ji nodded his head as he said in quite a cool voice, " no problem".

As if feeling that maybe he had not added a title due for this immortal and fearing the immortal would be pissed at his actions, he quickly added " esteemed immortal", as he led Zhan Shenwei.

Zhan Shenwei didn't no what was going through Ji Ji's mind but if he did he wouldn't think on there was any wrong with he being polite to Ji Ji, a mortal.

The point was why shouldn't he, he was the one that needed help so it was expected for him to be polite, and even if he didn't need Ji Ji's help, no matter the status, respect was due to every person.

Status, beauty, character, power, and qualities defined a person, but all those qualities also didn't define a person.

Life was what defined a person, what was a dead beauty or a powerful dead, without life there could be no quality hence life was certainly respectable.

Life the most inherent quality of the living was also the most defining quality of the same.

Every living thing was due honor and respect by virtue of life.

Immortals, mortals, nobles, commoners, demons, beasts, devils, all was due basic inherent respect.

Let all who couldn't create life cherish it, for their lives also wasn't created by themselves too.

This was what Zhan Shenwei knew.

He wasn't a saintly person and Buddha, but righteousness thrived in his heart, it was his nature.

He didn't give birth to himself with all his advantages and disadvantages, so why should he look down on another because of disadvantages and advantages.

Zhan Shenwei followed Ji Ji as they walked the streets.

Along the streets, the road side underlins of Ji Ji on seeing their boss and the mystical aura of the person he was walking with were astonished, when had the boss gotten to know a fabled immortal, it was even a young city guard.

Was this their boss's boss, their grand boss.

All sorts of thoughts went through their minds as they stay glued on, just watching from a distance.

They couldn't just approach the immortal any how right!, less they displeased him.

Ji Ji ran a business of information, his underlins spread about the various tea stalls, low end restaurants, markets, brothels, and so on of the outer city, with their ears perched up for any floating word or gossip.

All these places were the best places to hear things and gather information and through this network which he sold to the Treasure Pavilion he made a living.

Yes the Treasure Pavilion, the Treasure Pavilion also had a branch in the bright jade City and Ji Ji was their external servant in lower ends area of the outer city.

As a wide business enterprise the Treasure Pavilion also handled residences and job services too, in fact many city guards preferred to procure the help of the Treasure Pavilion in getting a residence.

The Treasure Pavilion was literally a cultivation business force, it was knowledgeable about the taste and requirements of cultivation than other local gentry agencies.

Of course the Treasure Pavilion wasn't the only one in the business but as a liason officer for the Treasure Pavilion, he could also earn a commission by referring Zhan Shenwei.

Zhan Shenwei walking behind Ji Ji was quite surprised when they finally stopped at a building with a Treasure Pavilion plaque.

Was this fate or coincidence, one way or the other he had ended come coming to contact with the Treasure Pavilion again.

Remembering that he had been in the bright jade city for a while without making contact with Shang Jing Mei, Zhan Shenwei brought the communication talisman between them and sent a message as he entered.

He actually had previous plans for obtaining certain things from the Treasure Pavilion, together with a getting a residence and workers now, he would kill two birds with one stone.

Of course Zhan Shenwei wouldn't admit that another reason he quickly sent a message now when he remembered was because of his monthly salary from Shang Jing Mei.

No, no, Shang Jing Mei was his employer, how could he not have maintained proper relationship with his employer.

One that was paying his spirit stones, quite useful and would pay him more spirit stones in the future.
