Aster got ready to fight. In this fight there were no rules, no style, nothing. Aster knew that better than anyone else. The evil soul would show no mercy no matter what. He wouldn't care if Aster was a kid. The master got ready to fight. His massive figure and deadly look was not enough to scare Aster.
Tania was just reviving from the fall. She looked at Eren and Sienna, who were near her and Huda, ready to fight with anyone. She gulped her saliva as she could not bear any of them getting injured. Protecting Aster was her responsibility, now Aster is trying to protect her inturn. She was trying to move but couldn't. Sienna tried to help her get up but all her effort went in vain. Tania knew that she would take sometime to recover fully. Hence, she asked Sienna and Eren to stop helping her and look after the others. Huda was tense and nervous as she saw Aster getting ready to fight.
Eren and Sienna, on the other hand, were feeling far more better than the others were. One reason was that they trusted their friend completely. Second, they didn't know that the master was the most powerful being on that planet. Literally, they did not know their opponents capabilities and hence did not know Aster's huge disadvantage.
The children were actually unaware of what was going on. They just felt insecure. Never in their life had they seen such a thing. A burning stadium with two warriors face to face, ready to strike.
Aster looked straight into the master's eyes. He saw the master's dark glare. He did not even shake a bit. Aster was pretty confident. He thought he could deal it.
[Author: Wasn't Aster being a little...just a little....or maybe....a bit too overconfident? I mean, he didn't even know what kind of a psychopath he was gonna deal with. Isn't it utter madness? I would like him to run for his life. Analyzing the situation at hand, that will be better.]
Aster and the master stayed still for some time. Neither of them moved. Their faces were calm. Silence before a storm. That's what Tania could make out of it. Tania knew that Aster's life was at stake. She so...so...sooo wanted to rush out there and help. But she was in a pathetic condition. She couldn't even move properly.
After a long silence, the master and Aster had familiarized with the opponents' appearance. They had done enough glaring too. The master would have killed Aster if glaring at someone could kill.
The master prepared for his first attack. He drew his axe from his pocket. He rushed towards Aster with the axe in his right hand. He used his left hand to cast a spell. His fingers moved as if he was going to spin a ball.
Aster understood at once what he was going to do. That was when he realized how cruel the man was. The master had planned to strike him with a globe of fire and then kill him with his axe. Aster's mind responded quickly. He drew his sword and swayed it in front of him as if to draw circles in the air. The circle he drew immediately changed into huge nets of water and engulfed the incoming fire globe completely.
Seeing that the fire globe could not yield the desired result, the master couldn't move forward any further. He was frustrated. The master was not used to people who fight back. He did not like people to fight back. Everyone on his planet were obedient and never even dared the master's dominance. It was the first time in almost 10 years that he saw a person who fought back.
The master had a wide grin plastered on his face. He hid his frustration beneath the wide smile. Tania could now sit up and she saw what happened. She let out a sigh of relief. She could hear her own heartbeats. Eren and Sienna also let out deep breaths as they saw Aster get a lead in the first attack.
As for Aster, he could understand how strong the master was. Eventhough he was a weak mage, he was never negligent during his magic classes. He always paid attention to everything the teachers used to say. He could thereby predict the nature of the attack anyone used, just by looking at their finger movements.
He understood that the next attack would be stronger and that he should be ready with a stronger attack to face him. Drops of cold sweat broke out from his forehead and from the back of his neck when he realised that he was facing a very strong man. The flames in the stadium intensified the heat making him sweat even more.
Aster saw the smirk on the master's face. He knew that the master was planning his next attack.
The master was planning to kill the boy inch by inch, taking all the pleasure out of it. He was indeed a psychopath! He wanted to kill the boy in every possible way he can. He wanted to make Aster groan and beg for mercy. All this, he wished only because Aster chose to fight back rather than giving up at the first attack.
With these devilish thoughts in mind, the master prepared for the next attack.
