Paige's Point of View ~

"Please come over, It's a life or death situation," I told Sarah through the phone. It's been a couple a weeks and Lily had finally told me she was completely unpacked and ready for company.

"Okay, Okay, I'll be right over" She said sternly and hung up.

I could definitely wait for this dinner. Lily told me how she was making her speciality: Spinach and Sausage Lasagna. I can't remember the last time I had a home cooked meal. Lily said it's as good as it sounds, which I believed.

Sarah walked into my room breaking my train of thought. She plopped down onto the bed next to me.

"So what's the life or death situation?" She said smiling flipping through one of my teen magazines I used to read when I was 12.

"Look out the window," I ordered her. She would soon find out how there was a hot boy next door. I hadn't told her about Leo yet. I didn't really figure it was that big of a deal, but it is now and I need her help more than anything.

She got up from the bed and walked over to the window. She raised her arms up to open the white curtains that were blocking her vision of Leo's bedroom window.

She gasped dramatically and ducked just like I did. She turned her head and whispered, "Who is he, and why is he so hot?" She said hot like I didn't know he was.

"He's the devil himself." I stated her eyes widened and she crawled towards me and stood up.

"He's so hot." she repeated.

"You said that," I glared at her. She smiled.

"Is he our new neighbor? Have you met him? Did you guys talk? Is his voice sexy? Is he nice? He sure is hot. Have you been in their house? What is his name?" She threw a bunch of questions but I only focused on one.

"No, I told you he is the devil himself. He's rude, sarcastic, and sassy," I told her.

"Sounds a lot like you," She smirked and turned her head to look at Leo again.

I gasped and slapped my hand against my chest dramatically, and put a fake hurt look on my face.

"That hurt. That hurt a lot," I said sarcastically. I guess she's right. I'm all the things he is, but only to the people I don't like, and well... I don't like him.

"Tell my everything," Her face lit up and she grabbed the bag of tortilla chips I was eating, from my hands.

I told her how we met a couple weeks ago and how his name was Leo. I told her how I fell on my ass because his dog ran away, and how I fainted from hitting my head on the concrete. How he brought unconscious me home and held me bridal style. She assumed I liked him, but how insane would that be? Finally I told her how I agreed to go over for Lily's famous spinach and sausage lasagna, and how I said Sarah would want to come.

"Yes! Yes! I so want to see you flirt with that hunk!" Sarah screamed and jumped up.

"Did you just say hunk?" She ignored me.

"What time? What are you going to wear? I'll come over before we go and help you pick something! I'll see you at 7 sharp! Bye!" She ran out of the room before I could say anything and I sighed.

I got up from my bed. After spending hours talking to Sarah and walked over to my closet.

I didn't have as much clothes as Ronnie did, but I had some nice clothes. I looked through them for half an hour but gave up and sat at my desk and resumed reading.

***

I looked to my clock. It was now 6:58. I've been reading for about 2 hours. That's the thing with me and reading. I could go with it for hours and forget about everything around me and get lost in fictional worlds and forget about reality. It's pretty calming.

I heard small footsteps, but I didn't look up from my book.

I could tell it was Sarah from the corner of my eye. She walked to my bed and picked up a pillow and threw at me. I turned around and glared at her. She had one hand pointing to my bathroom and one pointing to the closet, implying that it was time for her to dress up her personal life size doll.

I nodded and got up from my desk and sat on my bed. Sarah started looking through the clothes and shoes in my closet. She then started to look through the most formal part of my closet. I groaned.

In the end it was between a short, and I mean really short, tight light green dress, with puffy sleeves and a tie in the front that showed more than I wanted to show, and a tight white, floral dress that went with a green cardigan that matched with the dress.

Sarah decided that I should wear the floral one because the other dress made me look like one of those pirate waitresses from a pirate themed restaurant and/or Disneyland. I agreed.

I slipped the dress onto my body and put on the green sweater.

"God you look so hot in that dress," Sarah started, "Makeup and hair time!" She smiled and pointed to my makeup.

She practically forced me into the bathroom. I sat on the stool and looked in the mirror. Sarah pulled out her phone and typed fast. She clicked on random things and her eyes started to widen.

"This, This is perfect," Her eyes were filled with excitement. She put the phone up to my face to show me the makeup and hair looks she was looking at on Pinterest. It was a natural makeup look, and her hair was down.

"It's just dinner we don't need makeup and stuff."

She ignored me and scanned the photo one more time and put her phone back in her pocket. It's like she has photo tragic memory.

About 45 minutes later she was finally done. I swatted her hand away when she tried to fix some hair popping out. I glared at her and fixed it myself. She shrugged.

"We have been sitting here for 45 minutes! My back is hurting!" I screamed at her, and she turned my seat around so I could see myself in the mirror. Woah. I looked like a whole new person. I don't normally do my makeup, and I never wear dresses.

"Wow, I'm a beauty god." She stared at me through the mirror. I slapped her arm and she laughed.

"It's only dinner, Sarah, not a royal ball," I told her and she smiled and took her phone out of her pocket to look for ideas for her look.

Around 8:02 Sarah was done with her hair, makeup, and outfit, and she was running around trying to find the mascara she had in her pocket.

I pointed to her pocket and she looked at me with a confused look on her face. She put her hand in her pocket and pulled the mascara out. I think she'll be a fashion designer or makeup artist when she's older. She's really good at that kind of stuff. I mean she turned me, a 5 into an 8.5 (her words not mine), which is pretty impressive.

She wore a short denim skirt and a yellow sweater with pink embroidered flowers aligning the ends of the sweater. It was completely her style.

We walked up to the door and she could tell I was nervous.

"Don't worry, we're only going over to a hot guy's house for dinner," She said sarcastically. Me and Sarah have never really done something as daring as this before. I guess it's because both our lives aren't as interesting as they could be.

Just as I scoffed, Lily opened the door with a smile and invited us in.

"You must be Sarah, It's so nice to meet you sweetheart," Lily said kindly motioning for us to sit in the dining room. It was nice and cozy. The dinner table was long. It had six grey comfy chairs, and a long dark brown wooden table. The room wasn't too dark inside, but wasn't too light. There was a modern metal light fixture hanging from the ceiling. The house wasn't as big as I thought. Not too big, but not too small. I was the perfect size.

A girl that was around 10 years old was already sitting down at the table. Sarah sat across from the little girl and started to drink her glass of water.

I carefully sat down next to her. She smiled and I smiled back. She looked like a young version of Lily. She was really cute. She held a doll in her hands that was wearing a little yellow dress.

"Hi," She said shyly looking up at me. Her voice was so soft and gentle.

"Hi, I'm Paige. And what's this cutie's name?" I looked down at the doll she was holding then back up at her. Her face lit up.

"This is sunny, and I'm Madeline," She paused and looked down at her doll for a couple of seconds then looked up at me with wholesome eyes, "Sunny thinks you're pretty," she explained. I smiled.

I turned to Sunny, "Your friend Madeline here is super duper pretty! As pretty as the star in the night time," I turned to Madeline and smiled. She giggled happily.

I heard close footsteps, but I didn't turn my head. I could feel a warm gaze on me. I turned around and saw the one, and only, Leo.
